Another country in the list of UPU150 stamps.

Liberia, joined a total of 8 African countries to include Burundi, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Republic, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo to issue similar design postage stamps to commemorate "150th Anniversary of Universal Postal Union (UPU)" on 9 October 2024. The Liberia stamp depicts same design with Liberian flag.

The stamp from Liberia issued for 150 Years of UPU is of a denomination of 150 Liberian Dollars.

An official UPU150 postcard has also been issued by Liberia, which can be used by stamps of both denomination. 

Some critics claim that the #UPU150 stamps from these 8 African nations including Burundi, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Guinea Bissau, Togo, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea Republic have been printed by a company in Europe and have been printed only to rip off the pockets of the collectors and these do not have any philatelic value? Lions Club Centenary 2017 Stamps List - Issued by all countries

Lions Clubs International (LCI) is an international non-political service organization established originally in 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, by Melvin Jones. It is now headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. As of now, it had over 46,000 local clubs and more than 1.4 million members (Lions & LEO) in more than 200 countries around the world.

The Lions motto is "We Serve". Lions Club programs include sight conservation, hearing and speech conservation, diabetes awareness, youth outreach, international relations, environmental issues, and many other programs. The discussion of politics and religion is forbidden.
The LIONS acronym also stands for Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nations' Safety.

In 2017, Lions Clubs International celebrated 100 years of the club with the title "Lions Clubs Centennial" or "Lions Clubs Centenary".  Lions and Leos from around the world participated in special initiatives, programs and events to celebrate a century of serving humanity. It was truly a celebration unlike any the world has ever seen.

From philatelic point of view, many countries issued special commemorative stamps to mark the occasion of Lions Club Centenary. While most of these stamps were issued in 2017, Sri Lanka mis-timed the issue in December 2016, whereas India & Panama joined in the race as late comers in 2018 as well.

Postcard #4: Lake Piso, Liberia

A nice gift from a lovely brother. Thank you Adeel Bhai for this nice postcard from Liberia. Its a view postcard with a very nice scenic view of Lake Piso in Liberia. Lake Piso is also known as Lake Pisu and Fisherman's Lake. It is a oblong tidallagoon in Grand Cape Mount County in Western Liberia. Located close to the town of Robertsport, it is the largest lake in Liberia with an area of 103 sq km. 

The name of the lake originates from a local term which means "Pigeon's Hole" - A reference to the flocks of pigeons that once came to Lake Piso to drink water.

The postcard will also help me to add to the Postcard Friendship Friday at another friend's blog.
