Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, October 2, 2019

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!
It is already October, and today I am on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with this adorable card!

Newton's Nook Designs Winston Takes Flight Set - Naki Rager

Today is my dad's 70th birthday!
I wish I could fly home to wish him a happy birthday in person but Skype will have to do.

Newton's Nook Designs Winston Takes Flight Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed this super cool, super adorable image from the Winston Takes Flight Stamp set with silver EP on watercolor paper and colored in with the Kuretake Pearl Watercolor Set. Isn't he all shimmery and pretty!!? He was die cut out with the coordinating die

For my starry background, first I placed the Clouds Stencil on the top of the front panel and sponged with the Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Ink, then I swapped the stencil to the Cascading Stars Stencil to add some sparkly stars using the Ther-O-Web Gina K. Glits Glitter Gel. I also added more sparkle by filling my puffy could with the Glitter Pen.

I stamped this sentiment on a piece of white cardstock die cut using the puffy cloud die from the Sky Borders Die Set with the Stormy Sky Ink to match the background.

To finish the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday on the inside along with a few clouds. I added sparkle inside the clouds with the Glitter Pen as well.

The best part of today's card is that Winston is on the wobbler!
I will post a little video on my IG account!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 3

Wednesday, March 13, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs March Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 15th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 3 and we have this super duper adorable stamp set called Newton's Block Party ( I absolutely LOVE the name of this set 💛) Let's see it ;-)

OH.MY.GOODNESS.💙💛💜
Don't you want to go to this block party, too!!?
The new Frames Squared Die Set (revealed yesterday) goes with this stamp set just like the Floral Fringe Stamp Set (also revealed yesterday), isn't that awesome!!?
Here is my take...;-)

"Time to Pawty!"
Now this is one pawty you really want to be invited, right!!?
I paired this adorable image with the new Frames Squared Die Set and created another 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" card ;-)

Coloring all these kitties is always difficult (to decide what kind of marking I want to give each of them!) but so much fun! I've been a bit obsessing with adorable kitty photos on IG lately and I am totally in LOVE with those tuxedos with mustaches!!! They are so stinkin' cute 💛 I'm also loving the one behind my stash kitty, she has that funky pink mohawk, now how cute is that!!? 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Block Party Set - Naki Rager

Here's another one of my favorite kitties, look at this sweet Calico holding his cupcake with so much love 💛 Oh, and do you see another kitty with pink mohawk!? They're just killing me!!! Anyway, as you can see, this adorable image was watercolored, some parts such as the cupcake and party hats got some shimmer and shine from the glitter pen also.

After I was done coloring, I traced the square outline with the gold marker and a ruler to create a frame then trimmed it down with the paper trimmer. I die cut the scallop square using the new Frames Squared Die Set and mounted the fun pawty panel on it. I needed some confetti so I die cut some using the Balloon Shaker Die Set and gold glitter paper. The design is pretty simple but with such a fun image and bright colors, it really doesn't need much ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 1

Monday, March 11, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
Today kicks off the Newton's Nook Designs March Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 15th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
We are revealing a brand new stencil and 2 adorable stamp sets along with their coordinating die sets today...ready!?

This new Balloons Stencil will be your new go-to stencil ;-)
A party isn't a party until we have some balloons, right!?

I am loving this trio of cats ready to party!
This adorable set is called Newton's Birthday Trio 🎈

The Paw-some Birthday Set reminds of my kids getting all excited about opening their presents, it is simply adorable 💗
Okay, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Trio Set - Naki Rager

With such an adorable image in a pretty good size as the new Newton's Birthday Trio Set, you really don't need to add too much to your design because the stamp does all the job for you! Also, it looked more balanced on a square card.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Trio Set - Naki Rager

I stamped these cuties with Black Archival Ink on watercolor paper and watercolored 2 of the kitties just like my tuxedo boys. I colored the 3rd one a Siamese because my oldest child had wanted a Siamese cat for years! (We haven't been able to find one in our area, but he did get his own kitty from the shelter on his birthday though, and this kitty is the sweetest little lover and the whole family is in love 💗 except my tux boys...) Anyway, since the kitties are all gray and white, the rest were colored with fun pink and lime, plus some shimmer with the glitter pen ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Trio Set - Naki Rager

I stamped the sentiment part again and fussy cut it then popped them on with foam tape to add fun dimension. I also traced the sentiments and speech bubbles with the marker so that they really popped. The background was kept pretty simple in muted colors but a bit fun with patterns.

Newton's Nook Designs Paw-some Birthday Set - Naki Rager

This card with the Paw-some Birthday Set is more colorful ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Paw-some Birthday Set - Naki Rager

All these boxes of presents were colored in fun bright colors, plus a bit of shimmer with the glitter pen ;-)
This pup is actually a lab but this guy was colored to be a beagle, just because...😚

Newton's Nook Designs Paw-some Birthday Set - Naki Rager

For the background, I used the new Balloons Stencil to add some fun!
I first sponged the background with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink then heat embossed the balloons with iridescent EP, then sponged it again with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink this time. I applied some water all over the panel using my big paintbrush to mix the 2 colors, then removed the green ink from the balloons using a piece of paper towel.

This "paw-some" sentiment was heat embossed with Aqua Tinsel EP to match the blue balloons. Several Sparkling Clear sequins add a little more sparkle to my interesting background ;-)

Wednesday, February 27, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
I cannot believe that February is almost over, can you!?
All my kids have had the flu the past 2-1/2 weeks (they always take turns to get sick, so polite, right!?😑) Hope you stay healthy and avoid the flu!!!

Anyway, I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today so let's take a look ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Celebrates Set - Naki Rager

It is almost March and I have a few Birthdays to celebrate ;-)
This Friday the 1st is my oldest's, it doesn't seem real that he is turning 9!!!
And then there's my bestie's birthday, which is on the 17th...

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Celebrates Set - Naki Rager

My bestie and I have been friends since we were 16 and I love her like a sister!
So I get to play around and tease her by giving her this St.Patrick's Day themed card {LOL}
The sweet kitty in the big glass image is from the Newton Celebrates Set. As you can see, I colored the drink green ;-) The sentiment die is from the Cocktail Mixer Die Set, I die cut it then heat embossed with iridescent EP.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Celebrates Set - Naki Rager

This little sentiment is from the Cocktail Mixer Stamp Set, it was heat embossed with white EP on black cardstock, trimmed it down and popped on the fun, gold foil frame ;-)

The shaker part was created using the Framework Die Set and Acetate Sheet, and it was filled with greens and gold sequins and bead seeds ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Have a lovely day 💛

DOGtor Who???

Wednesday, January 30, 2019

Hi, there!
Can you believe January is almost over!? Where does time go!?
Maybe today's card that is up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog can tell me a bit about time...

Newton's Nook Designs Woof Pack Set - Naki Rager

Okay, some of you may be thinking, what's funny about this card?
So let me tell you how I ended up with this design first to make sense.
I decided to make a birthday card for my aunt who rescues dogs (mainly boxers) so the Woof Pack set seemed very appropriate. But if you know me, I like to accessorize the cute NND critters with stuff like little hats and glasses, which is a really easy way to jazz up your favorite NND images!

This is the 10th doctor from the BBC show Doctor Who, and my aunt and I both LOVED him! So this is why those sunglasses became 3D glasses ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Woof Pack Set - Naki Rager

The image was stamped right on the basecard then colored with colored pencils. I actually stamped it on Kraft cardstock first and wasn't planning on coloring the image at all, but you know I LOVE to color 🎨 I just couldn't help myself...{LOL} Can I tell you something crazy? I use an eraser (Prismacolor Magic Rub to be exact) to blend, it works so much better than the colorless pencil! Just don't rub too hard!

Newton's Nook Designs Woof Pack Set - Naki Rager

My 3D glasses were die cut using the little sunglasses die from the Loveable Llamas Die Set, I just colored in the blue and red lenses with my chameleon markers. I also added some shimmer using the Stella Glitter Pen. Aren't these pups just adorable with their glasses on!?

Newton's Nook Designs Woof Pack Set - Naki Rager

I was going to find a couple of sentiments to create "I'm the",  then die cut "doctor" (when the doctor says this line, that usually means he's about to save everyone) so I pulled out my favorite Essential Alphabet Die Set and suddenly hit me... A bunch of dog doctors => DOGTOR!!! (I crack myself up! LOL 😆). I die cut the "sentiment" from the Tardis blue (the doctor is an alien who travels through time in his time machine named Tardis, which is this little blue police box) and added starry shimmer (Tardis can travel in the space as well so it made sense...) using the Stella Glitter Pen.

I know that not everyone appreciates this card but I had a BLAST making it for my awesome aunt! and that's what's important/fun, right!? ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you liked it whether or not you're a whovian (that's what the doctor fans are called...LOL)

Happy New Year, lovelies! 🎉
Hope you all had wonderful holidays!
My first post of the new year is this birthday card I made for my niece who just turned sweet 16 yesterday and it is up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Caroling Newton Set - Naki Rager

My sister loves cats just like I do and naturally so does her now-16-year-old-daughter ;-) I thought to celebrate her sweet 16 with a trio of sweet kitties singing Happy Birthday to her was the perfect design ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Caroling Newton Set - Naki Rager

This adorable trio is from the Caroling Newton Set, who doesn't love stretching the holiday sets ;-)
After watercoloring these cuties, I die cut it using the coordinating die then fussy cut the tails of Santa hats that 2 of the kitties are wearing to make them into regular knit caps. I also colored their music books with the sparkly blue to hide the little Christmas designs on them.

Newton's Nook Designs Caroling Newton Set - Naki Rager

For the background, I sponged with Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink, splattered some water and white ink all over, then added some music notes using the Music Stencil and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink.

Newton's Nook Designs Caroling Newton Set - Naki Rager

For the sentiments, I borrowed "Happy Birthday" and Here's To You" stamps from the Cocktail Mixer Set and heat embossed with gold EP.

Newton's Nook Designs Caroling Newton Set - Naki Rager

My watercolor paper was die cut using the Frames & Flags Die Set. I used some painters tape to hide the scallops before sponging. For the finishing touch, I added a few light blue sequins and sparkling clear sequins. What 16-year-old-girl doesn't like a bit of shimmer and shine, right!? (Well, I'm 41 and still LOVE shimmer and shine on everything possible and so does my 5-year-old so I guess we never outgrow of it...LOL)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Hopefully, I will have more craft time this year ;-)
That means I need to work on my time management skills...LOL 😝

Hello, lovelies!
Today I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with this fun card I created using a few NND products!

Newton's Nook Designs Tea-Rex Set - Naki Rager

So are you ready to PAR-TEA with the TEA-REX!!?
Sorry, I couldn't resist...{LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Tea-Rex Set - Naki Rager

I just LOVE.LOVE.LOVE. this little guy from the Tea-Rex Mini Stamp Set, which is one of the new September Release! He was stamped with black Archival Ink on watercolor paper, watercolored, and die cut using the Coordinating Die. His little party hat was die cut using the Balloon Shaker Die Set. I decorated it a bit with Clear Glitter pen and the tiny red confetto. I also added another star to his little matching mug as well.

Newton's Nook Designs Tea-Rex Set - Naki Rager

I borrowed the "PARTY" sentiment from the Naughty Newton Stamp Set and heat embossed the only "PAR", then heat embossed the TEA-REX sentiment to complete the custom-made sentiment.

Newton's Nook Designs Tea-Rex Set - Naki Rager

The sunbeam background was created using the Sunscape Stencil and Encore Gold Ink, then to make it more festive, I added some confetti using the Confetti Stencil and embossing paste. I also sprinkled several tiny red confetti for the finishing touch ;-) This card may look simple but I put a lot of little details ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
