My Plush Swap parcel has arrived!

When I saw that Diane Koss of Cutesy but not Cutesy had posted in our Plush Team forum that she had sent her swap partner's parcel to a 'far away land' I started secretly hoping that it was coming my way. (I think Bosnia and Herzegovina qualifies as quite a far away place.) And my hope was not disappointed! On Friday I went to the post office to check our PO Box and there was the yellow piece of paper telling me that a parcel had arrived. I quickly went to the counter to retrieve my parcel and there on the front were the sender details... It was from Diane :)

Luckily the post office is only a couple of minutes away from our house so I didn't have to wait long to open it.

And inside I found some super cute card characters, a lovely message and...

An orange bunny!! Thank you so much Diane, He has joined my happy plush family and is fitting in just fine.

Another happy customer!

This little bunny found it's way to it's owner today. It's always nice to receive positive feedback from customers.
He always travels prepared, with a carrot in his bag. If you'd like to have a go at making a little carrot yourself then click here to go to my tutorial.

Introducing Gertie

Gertie spends a lot of time wandering and thinking. She is a bit of a loner really, but she's ok with that. By wandering she has seen a lot more of the world than the other bunnies from her town. They all know she's about to go off again when they see her pack some carrots into her bag, sling it over her shoulder and start off down the main street. Lots of the bunnies secretly wish they were as brave as her and could see the things she's seen, but instead they just wait in anticipation for her to return and tell them tales of places far away. Gertie is available in my Etsy Shop.

What are you working on?

This is my current 'work in progress'. I'm quite excited about how she's going to turn out. What are you working on at the moment? Post a link in the comment section so we can all see!

Nora the knitting bunny :)

The Stuffed Bunny Show is coming up...

The Stuffed Bunny Show opens at the eve-n-odd gallery on 9th April - that's this Saturday. If you live anywhere near St Petersburg Florida then make sure you go and take a look. There are some really amazing bunnies on show there and they will also be for sale. Nora the Knitting Bunny by me is one of them!

Nora in Florida

Nora the knitting bunny has arrived in Florida at the eve-n-odd gallery ready for the Stuffed Bunny show in April.

what are you doing this Saturday?

This Saturday there is a new gallery opening in St Petersburg Florida called eve-N-odd gallery. I would go to the opening if i lived closer - but as it is I live very very far away and across the sea! The lovely gallery owner Jennifer contacted me last week to ask if I would like to be part of a Stuffed Bunny Show that they will be having in April - and of course I said yes! I've made the bunny already, but now I'm working on a couple of other dolls to send to her as well as she said she would like to carry more of my work! Exciting :) You can find out more about the gallery by liking their facebook page.

The Cupcake Bunny

If you're feeling hungry and in need of something sweet, call the Cupcake Bunny and she'll bring you something to eat. She works at the bakery not far from here and her cupcakes are famous for bringing good cheer.

The Cupcake Bunny is available in my Etsy Shop.

What do you think?

I've been adding new items to my shop the last couple of days. Here are some of them and there's more to come! What do you think? Which is your favourite?

Miss Lilly in the making

I've been away for the last few days - staying by the sea. It was lovely - and we even swam in the sea on Sunday. It was pretty cold, but it gave you that amazing awake and alive feeling once you braved it and got in! As well as swimming in the sea, spending time with friends and playing games I also started making this little bunny. Hopefully I'll finish her sometime today or tomorrow and She'll appear in my etsy shop.

Eco Bunny and the Land of Plastic Bag Trees

'Welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina - the land where plastic bags grow on trees!' was what someone said to us on our first visit to this country - which is now our home.

When we left the UK 18 months ago we were in the habbit of taking our 'bag for life' with us to the Supermarket, paying for plastic bags in some shops or just not using a bag at all - especially if you're buying something small.

Here in Bosnia Herzegovina they love plastic bags! The first time I went into a shop here and bought a bar of chocolate I went to leave the shop and the shop-keeper started calling after me, 'you need a plastic bag!' and no matter how many times I explained that I didn't, they wouldn't let me out of the shop without a bag! I'm kinda used to it now and I dutifully take the plastic bag.

The problem is that as a result of this there are plastic bags everywhere -and there really are places where you could be forgiven for thinking that they do grow on trees.

Eco Bunny is made with and stuffed with plastic bags that I have collected from all my shopping trips! He is pointing the way to a new future where plastic bags will not grow on trees and pollute the environment. He is available in my etsy shop.

The Bunny Factor

Whenever I list something in my etsy shop or post here on my blog I submit it to stumbleupon by clicking the 'I like it!' button because I read somewhere that this is a good way of getting increased views on your sites. It has brought me quite a lot of views - but there is a pattern emerging which you can see in the picture above. Whenever I list a bunny in my etsy shop I get loads of views through stumbleupon, but whenever I list anything else I get very few views. So what is this bunny factor all about? My husband has his theory, which was further supported by the fact that the other amigurumi listing which got loads of views through stumbleupon was Schoolgirl Sally... What do you think causes the bunny factor?

Fitness Bunny

Fitness Bunny is loving this spring weather. She has totally got into her power walking routine again. Every morning, 45 mins round the park and then home for a shower and breakfast before she goes off to work. She is available in my etsy shop.

Easter is coming soon...

It's that time of year again - the Easter Bunny is visiting! He's here to deliver an Easter egg and all the good stuff that comes with it - new beginnings, new life and second chances :)

Easter is coming soon so get down to the plushteam shop and buy yourself - or someone else, something Eastery :)

if you need a hug...

How cute is this picture! I made this amigurumi bunny for my friend while she was pregnant. She wanted a special toy for her baby - and it seems like bunny has become just that! So if you need a hug why not consider getting yourself an amigurumi from outoftheframe! - I take custom orders too :)

International Travel

This is the latest creature to leave our lovely home and fly across the sea to somewhere new.
When I went to the post office to post him, the lady looked at the address on the parcel - UK and then looked at me and started gesticulating and pointing obviously trying to tell me something - but I had no idea what! I guess she thought as I was sending something to the UK, I was from the UK (which I am) and so could not speak the local language. It was really funny that she didn't even try speaking to me - not in her own language or any other language, she just pointed and made faces. Anyway thankfully I can speak the local language in a basic way - and so I should be able to after being here for 16months, and so I was able to ask her what she was trying to tell me and we got it all sorted! he he - the joys of living in a foreign country.
