Living life

 

In the past three and a half years, cancer stole a lot from Naomi. There were many disappointments and limitations. 

One of the things I most admired, which I witnessed over and over, was the way Naomi responded to bad news. There were usually tears and sadness, but then she soon found a way to move forward and live her life in the fullest possible way.

This is perhaps best exemplified by her quilling business.

I was tired of sitting through meetings, so I upgraded my home office.

This past week as the darkness has crept in, I've been thankful that I work from home and don't have to drive to and from work in the dark every day.

We're done with farmers' market for the year, but Libby and Naomi set up wares and manned a stall on Saturday, this time at a craft show, where Naomi displayed the quilled cards she's been making.

 My enjoyment of the snow earlier this week was increased by the knowledge that I didn't have to go out in it to drive to and from work. 

Ending

 At the end of the fall semester, I packed up my personal items from my office. After nine and a half years working in the English Language Program at Saginaw Valley State University, I began 2021 with a new job.

Siblings

 

Julie headed back to Pennsylvania after spending over two months in Michigan. Being able to extend her stay was one of the perks of working remotely due to COVID.

I returned to the office for the first time yesterday after working remotely from March to May and then being on leave through the end of July.

 Julie's been working remotely from Michigan the past couple of weeks and Kathryn stopped by to help her the other day.
