Truth is I don't like it and it's like any other day. I don't feel 23 all of the sudden. It's just a silly convention. :) in my mind I will always feel 19.

But I will gladly eat the birthday cake that Marilyn is bringing me! It looks so pink and sweet! Thank you, Hollywood Goddess!

I will celebrate tonight (I'm still in Athens) with shopping, drinking McDonalds milkshake and watching the screener for District 9 on the dvd player!

October 19th... sounds so distant!

A personal message

Hello, fellow bloggers and readers! I have a bit of news. Not really that important, but it might justify my laziness for a while. I have relocated to Athens, Greece (from Bucharest, Romania) because I've found some kind of a job here. I've just flown today, after having only 4 days to gather it all up.

I might be staying a week (who knows), but I hope it's gonna be the full 4-5 months and that it works out for me. Whatever happens, it was a nice flight and I hope I'll get to see a bit of the city this weekend.

Soooooooo... getting to the blog: I might not post THAT often (at least for the first week), but I still have 2 profiles from 1957 and then a new category... I have all the movies I need on my laptop and internet access and I'm so happy to participate in Stinkylulu's Supp Actress Smackdown, so there's no way I'm quitting. Just going a bit slower. :)

Stinkylulu's Supporting Actress Smackdown 1976


This month I've been honoured to participate in one of Stinkylulu's Supporting Actress Smackdowns. It's something I've been wanting for some time now and it finally happened. Brian (Stinkylulu) invites us to say our thought on the 5 supporting actresses nominated in a certain year. At the end of the month there's a Smackdown, where he tallies the votes / the love and we find out which of the 5 was the final favorite.

For me, it's very exciting to be surrounded by people as passionate about Oscars as I am and about actresses and their Oscar-nominated contribution to their films. October's chosen year was 1976. The nominees for Best Supporting Actress 1976 were:

• Jane Alexander, for All the President's Men
• Jodie Foster, for Taxi Driver
• Lee Grant, for Voyage of the Damned
• Piper Laurie, for Carrie
• Beatrice Straight, for Network

Hello, kittens!

"Hello, Alex!", the kittens meowed impatiently.

Now it's the right time to start my blog. I do have to admit the *pressures* that finally made me take this step :) And it's also easier when you find yourself newly unemployed.

1. I'm a ranking freak. I'm also an Oscar freak. And these two go together well. I'm gonna make this blog my archive, just by moving personalized film info from my computer to my blog.

2. mostly Oscary things; also comments on tv series & reality shows I watch. And some personal sh!t, like photos and such. But mostly Oscar.

3. I hope I'll use it as a CV for some job. Not yet sure which job.

4. Stinkylulu's blog (more on this later)
