Some splendid ladies...

I created the base of this layout sometime last week and finally got the chance to piece it together today. It's amazing how many cards I create that sit on my desk waiting to be finished...perhaps it's because I just get over ambitious!

SCS ATC Round #2

Does this mini card look familiar? Try this post! When I was making this card I was inspired to create this ATC. I adore the simplicity of A muse stamps. It made sense to re create this card in a mini version. I added textured paper behind the bride and the groom (which is different from the original card).

Happy Wedding Day ATC Recipe

SCS ATC Round #1

My DH hijacked my laptop the last few days and I haven't had much time to visit your blogs. SO if you haven't heard from me in a while that is why. In fact, it is so bad that I have hardly had time to check my e-mails. He has been making a slideshow for a friend of ours who just got accepted to the RCMP. It is an exciting time (as well as scary) for him and his family. We had a special evening dedicated to him and he really enjoyed the show. Now of course DH is burning copies of the show on MY COMPUTER! *hehe*
As promised, I am going to show you the SCS ATCs I have been working on the past few weeks. It really didn't take me that long to make them, I just made them in steps. They will be in the mail tomorrow now that I have labeled them.
I forgot how much I love these cute little Artist Trading Cards. They are so simple to make and decorate. A 2.5x3.5 space is not very big. I almost had to rethink this card because my fella was taking up too much of the space. But I managed to fit everything I needed to on the card.

Tight Lines Fishafella Card Recipe

Ink: Noir Black (Palette)

I will share my other ATC with you tomorrow. Until then, happy stamping!!!!!

Witch in Flight...just in time for the end of spring

Again, it seems very strange to be posting a Halloween card in the spring! It truly seems like an eternity away. I certainly don't want to push Fall any closer than it is...not before I enjoy the summer first. I have been waiting a long time to see the sunshine. Out here on the coast we get glimpses throughout the year but for the most part rely on June, July and Sept for the sun. We call August FOGust around these parts. You can literally stand on the edge of the shore and watch the fog roll in. And for the rest of the year you can expect to see RAIN...between 12-15ft of rain.

It's hard to see the "cuttlebugged" window sheet so I laid it flat for a better view.

Witch in Flight Card Recipe

Ink: Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive

I have a fun squash book of my family and I to share this week too. So much to share so little time. I hope you are having a super day.

A Wedding Day card a la Sarah

One of my fav stamp artist, Sarah Vrolyk was chosen as the Featured Stamper on SCS. Her style is simple yet elegant. Not only do I love her cards but I also really appreciate her blog chatter!

I cased this cute little anniversary card. I changed the colours, added DP, changed the ribbon, used different stamps and added cuttlebug flower embellies with gemstones. The layout is essentially the same.

Because I just received my A muse stamps I knew I needed to use them for this challenge. The truth is I just needed an excuse to use them and Sarah is definitely about A muse so it was fitting.

I took two photos of my card and couldn't decide which one I liked better so I am posting both *lol*

Is it food for thought or food for card?

I just acquired a few special stamps this week. Actually, let's be honest, I acquired a lot more than that but I will just say a few for now *lol* and let you see the rest of them in the coming weeks. I seriously have been stamp deprived the past few days. I have been away from my stamp room for 2 full days and I have had stamps waiting...no wait...calling my name!
Although I was away from home I had a great lil' family reunion with my brother and mum as well as my kids. Of course DH is working (as usual) so he wasn't able to make the trip. Yesterday we drove up to my FAV LSS on the island and would you believe I am now a VIP customer ?*lol* Ya...it's time to cut up the credit cards especially when the reward you for spending a chunk of change. I was so excited to add to my growing collection of Marvy punches and Bellas. While I pre-ordered some of the punches on Papertrey Ink I didn't order nearly as many as I wanted. So when I walked into my LSS and she had them hanging off the wall, I was a 2 year old who found some candy. Have you ever seen a 31 year old jumping up and down with excitement? Well that was me; the crazy lady in the scrapbooking store.

Now to the food...the card food of course.

Origami Shirt Fun!

The other day I made this origami shirt card for the TLC119 on SCS but I never did get a chance to upload it. I figured a surfing/beach shirt card was in order for the area I live in. I keep mentioning I live in the sticks but I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the Great White North (aka Canada). Every year we get 1.5 million tourists in the area to see this:

So as you can imagine, when I saw the challenge I knew exactly what DP I was going to use and how I wanted this card to turn out. I just had to add Surf Ukee (short for my town's name) with the Karen Foster snap stamps. I figured this card might appeal to some of the tourists that visit our local craft fairs. After all who doesn't want a surf shirt card? *wink*

Fun in the Sun Card Recipe:

Paper: Whisper White, Summer Sun, Cranberry Crisp, DP (Karen Foster and Misc)
Ink: Noir Black (Palette), Summer Sun Craft, Cranberry Crisp Classic
Stamp Set(s): Beach (Pink Cat Studio), Snap Stamps (Karen Foster), Best Blossoms
Accessories: Coluzzle, Circle Template, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder (Provo Craft)

Note: This card is 5.25x5.25

Stay tuned tomorrow for one of my most FAV bella/fella cards. I had a proud card maker moment when I designed that card and I have been chomping at the bit to share it with you.

Some Flowers for You!

I feel so lucky to have had some time recently to stock pile some of my cards *insert shocked face*. My hubby is good to me and let me have a few hours of stamping to myself last week and I can't believe how many cards I was able to create. It seems that not long ago it would take me hours to do one. The nice thing about having a few cards stockpiled is that when it has been a long day on my end I don't feel the pressure to create something. I am sure you all know what I am talking about.
Although I made this card last week, it is still fresh and new for you! I have had this big Heidi Swapp flower kickin' around in my stamp room for some time now and have been anxious to use it. I FINALLY found a home for it.

A Flower with Thanks Card Recipe
