Mark Penton
Since he first ventured down that long, dark hallway at age 12 to meet his mentor, Hank Mackie, Penton's musical style has grown and evolved to make him a true master of his art.
His self-described style is blues, funk and stuff. Throw some rock, gospel and soul into the mix and that only begins to touch the "stuff" he's made of. His earthy, soulful voice blends perfectly with his inspired guitar playing to take his audiences to uncharted territory — destination unknown, but always worth the trip!
Thomas C. McDonald
Thomas C. McDonald brings funky, innovative bass lines to the Pentones along with lead and harmony vocals and the occasional jaw harp solo.
Eddie Christmas
Eddie Christmas puts the "power" in this power trio with his masterful drums and percussion. Born in New Orleans, Eddie started playing drums in his home church under the guidance of his mentor, Craig Washington, and marched in the drum corps in middle and high school. He has played and shared the stage with local, national, and international acts. Eddie endorses Soultone Cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, and Remo drumheads.
Album Notes
by cdbaby
Well known for their killer live performances, the Pentones combine blues, rock, and funk to create a tasty gumbo of New Orleans-influenced sound that's uniquely their own. The Pentones are Mark Penton (guitar and vocals), Thomas C. McDonald (bass guitar and vocals), and Eddie Christmas (drums and percussion).
Here's what Where Y'at Magazine had to say:
"Penton doesn’t get a lot of ink or air time but it would not be an exaggeration to rate him among the top 10 lead guitarists in a city that has no shortage of them.... Penton can be counted on to give a stellar performance. Anyone who can make his axe sing like the late, great Duane Allman gets my vote.... in addition to being an extraordinarily gifted musician and vocalist, Penton is also an accomplished songwriter."
