Bringing truly a new, unique twist to the Red Dirt/Texas Country scene, all members of the Preston Scott Band will agree on one thing. That being, in just the short 2 years, they have come farther than they could have imagined! "I listened to guys like Brandon Rhyder all throughout highschool, never would've crossed my mind that I would have my own band, & get the privilege of opening for him," Said Preston. Along with Rhyder, the PSB has shared the stage with artists such as The Turnpike Troubadours, Adam Hood, Deryl Dodd, & many more. One rarity of the band is that all members grew up in the small town of Midlothian, Texas. Preston says he just gave singing a shot about two years ago & was surprised at the positive feedback. He decided to start a band just for fun and for the love of "rockin' out!" It has turned into much more than that for this young group of southern rockers! "...but I always keep that mentality. What it comes down to, is that we all share the same passion and just really enjoy getting to play music together, the way we want. No rules, no boss, & certainly no limits." You can immediately point out a PSB song when you hear it due to the catchy, almost punk rock-style riff, the bold, dual lead guitar solo's, and of course, the powerful, soulful, yet edgy vocals. With influences ranging from Hank Williams Sr., to Creedence Clearwater Revival, to Cross Canadian Ragweed (R.I.P.), you get a blend of Red Dirt & Southern Rock music. "I would say that our music is definitely a little more 'rock & roll' than a lot of bands in the scene." With all members in the early 20's, you can count on one thing. These guys will be around for awhile!
ABOUT THE BAND
By Official Website
We are just a group of young men that love to jam… That is what it comes down to. Preston’s powerful, raspy yet melodic, smooth vocals, tie together the heartfelt lyrics with passion. This band is far from “country”. The heavy driven southern rock sounding guitar licks bring an unmatched flavor to the band, with David Lanier on the lead, bringing his inspirations from SRV, Skynyrd, Van Halen, & of course Whiskey Myers… We love to “get the Led out”! Last but certainly not least, the other half of this 4 piece group of young southern rockers, the rhythm section. With Ralph Henry on the bass guitar & Mark Bass rig, he matches his deep grooving bass pattern in a high energy blend with the heavy, solid, perfectly timed, rock & rollin’, drum beat by the newest member of the band, Jon Jak. With only a few years under our belts, it’s crazy to see the chemistry and improv ability we have together. The music always just comes together so quickly and smoothly with this group. & It’s always fun & high-energy! Never gets old jamming together.. It’s all about seeing us live. That’s where the magic happens! The interacting with the crowd and seeing them dancing & enjoying themselves as much as us, it’s hard to beat! That’s why we do it! For YOU!!!
