CASE this Sketch & CASE Study {Hello, Hello, Hello}

Hooray! Long weekend. I need it. I am sure we all do!

Today I am sharing a card I made for CASE this Sketch & CASE Study. I loved all the white and the bold pop of colour on Wida's card. I wish I had a word die but alas, not yet. I am saving up for some new goodies. Soon I hope! So to achieve the texture of her card, I used my favourite handwriting embossing folder and a lacy oval die from My Favorite Things. I repeated the handwritten sentiment three times and inked up the silhouette stamps with my Tim Holtz inks.

I hope you get the chance to get crafty this weekend. I am hoping to play in my craftroom for at least one of the days.

Case Study {With Sympathy}

Happy Saturday! Wow, this day has just ZOOMED by! I had big hopes for today-laundry, cooking, planting, walking. I managed to get some cleaning and a walk in but the rest will have to wait as I really wanted to play along with CASESTUDY

This week's inspiration inspired me to create something clean and simple with a bit of texture. I loved the muted colours and they inspired me to make a sympathy card. I also liked the size of the card and tried a slightly smaller card than an A2. I am excited to play along with this challenge as it encourages me to craft out of my comfort zone.

I hope you can see how I was inspired...it was a fun to play along.

Case Study & Simon Says Stamp {Cake & Candles}

Saturday is my favourite day of the week because I get to stamp! I actually have spent the day going through clothes and my closet. I am now down 30lbs and so many of the clothes I own are too big. It is so challenging for me to purge...especially when I love an item of clothing. I am proud though...got it done and it feels great!!! I went shopping last night and my closet has some nice new "smaller" sized items. I cannot tell you how amazing I feel! Walking (slowly) and counting calories is all that I have been doing. I still eat ice cream, cookies, and other treats but I count everything! Next stop...50 lbs!

Speaking of ice cream and cookies; today I am playing along with CASE Study #189. I pulled out a new Avery Elle birthday themed stamp set. Love the fonts in this set and couldn't wait to ink it up. Then I die cut some balloons from Lil' Inkers out of some colour pattern paper...I loved the heart paper on Wida's card and so I was inspired to use some star paper...and I kept the paper neutral so that my balloons and sentiment would...ahem...pop!

I really liked the simple twine treatment on her card and the negative die cut space too...it was fun using some square dies and lining everything up...I don't think I have ever done that before. I am also linking up at the Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" Challenge. I added two star sequins to my card...just to add a little bling.

Seize the Sketch #19 {Wheely Sweet Friend} & CASE Study Design Team Call

Today I am sharing a card for the next sketch at Seize the Sketch and I am also auditioning for a design team position over at CASE Study. The assignment is to share a design from a designer that inspires you and then show how you would "CASE" it. It was hard to narrow down who to CASE but one of my favourite card makers is Cindy Lovell. She is on my Card Concept team and I just love everything she makes. I was inspired by her card below...you can find it HERE.

Card by Cindy Lovell

I was inspired to use some fun designer paper. I usually use simple patterns but felt inspired to use something a little more masculine. I added a simple pennant and keep my images clean and simple as well because I wanted the sentiment to stand out like Cindy's. My image comes from a Stampin' Up set called "Cycle Celebration" and I loved the sentiment that came with it. It is actually a birthday set and so much fun!!

I am auditioning for a position at CASE Study because I want to stretch myself as a card maker and I want to learn how to improve my crafting skills. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and to see my work.

I hope you will join us at Seize the Sketch! Our challenge is on for 2 weeks and the team has a lot of inspiration to share!!!

Simple Sunflower Note {CASE Study and Curtain Call}

Good morning stamping friends!! Wow, what a week! It is done and now I can play along with a couple of challenges which caught my eye namely the Curtain Call Sunflower Inspiration Challenge and the current CASE Study ChallengeI am fighting off a cold today! I have TOO much work to do...no time to be sick! Ack!

 {Supplies Used}
Stamps: None
Inks: None
Papers: White textured Cardstock (AC), SO Saffron (SU!), Kraft
Extras: SRM Stickers (Sentiment), Twine (Teresa Collins), Button (Maya Road)

I love sunflowers and I was inspired by the pretty card at CASE Study. Loved the large bloom and the simple sentiment. I used some textured paper for the background and the die cut strip is from My Favorite Things. I just had to use a SRM Sticker for the sentiment. To keep my card simple and light. I hope I achieved that look!
