Paper Issues, Ribbon Carousel, CAS-ual Fridays {Get Your Thong ON}
To see my Gallery Idol Post and Card, please CLICK HERE.
Good morning stamping friends!!! I am excited to share a clean and simple card I made last night. It is my turn to be up on the Paper Issues blog, and I would love if you stopped by for a visit!!
I got inky and played along with some of my favourite challenges!!! I was inspired to make a summer card, because over at the Ribbon Carousel, they are looking for a summer themed project!! So that got me thinking about summer, and the fact that many of my teacher friends, including myself, will be celebrating the summer break very soon! Congratulations, teachers!
So I played along with the Cas-ual Fridays Crew again-creating a Congratulations card and I am also playing along with There She Goes Challenge, hosted by Kim O'Connell. She is asking for a CAS card. To create my stamped background, I placed all the "thongs" on my big, clear block and inked them up all at once...to create a background stamp of sorts. (My clear block is pretty dirty...think it needs a bath!)
Supplies Used:
Stamps: There She Goes & Hero Arts
Inks: Poppy Parade, Black
Papers: Doodlebug Fruit Stand, Poppy Parade, White
Extras: Twine

CAS(E) this Sketch, Simon Says, CASology & Moxie Fab Challenge
Wow! Ever have one of those crafting nights when you have a great idea to make a card in your mind and then it does not transpire into the final product? And here I am...looking at this card and thinking...why didn't I use neutrals? But then I remind myself that this IS a birthday card and bright colours should prevail! Shouldn't they?
My card is inspired by the following challenges:
Moxie Fab- Camera Element {mine element is the photo shape}
CASology {keyword: FLAME}-the cupcake candle
Simon Says Stamps {Arrow-the designer paper and the sentiment inside reads- Hope your Birthday is Wonderful in EVERY WAY}.
I was inspired to make this card because of a card I saw on Amy Tsuruta's blog HERE. Thank you Amy for the wonderful inspiration!!!

Deconstructed Sketch #85 {All You Need Is Love and lots of Pebbles Paper!}
Playing with new goodies is always fun especially when you HAVE to have them, because a fellow blogger has used them and has made you NEED them! Let me share the blogger's photo...
"The Enabler"
I happen to live close by to a stamper who I admire! She is also a teacher and we met for the first time in the Fall quite by chance! We were both at the same professional development day and I happened to win a door prize. The announcer called my name in a gym full of 300 people. So up I went to get my prize and when I got back to my seat, there was this smiling gal, looking at me as if she knew me! Well it took me not even a minute when she said "Hi Lesley, I am Laurel"! I couldn't believe it!!! Laurel Seabrook! There she was! Ha! We had a good chat and again, I thought how wonderful the blogging and the card making community can be!
Fast forward to Jen's fun sketch and immediately I KNEW I needed to use some Paper I had seen on Laurel's blog right before Christmas...it is from Pebbles and I LOVED it! I bought the 6 x 6 paper pad of Seen and Noted because of Laurel and I am so excited to use it today on my graphic Valentine card!
Stamps: Hero Arts
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Papers: Pebbles {Seen and Noted}, Flourishes White CS, Basic Black {SU!}
Extras: Butterfly Punch {SU!}, Pearls
Laurel is coming to see the show I directed! I have been working on the musical Oklahoma since October. I am looking forward to connecting with her again! Thank you for sharing your love of Pebbles paper Laurel...I can see how wonderful it is to work with!!

Paper Players, JUGS and Pals Paper Arts
What a wonderful day we had here! Spring has Sprung, it was sunny and warm all day! I hope tomorrow brings similar weather. This week at the Paper Players, Jaydee is challenging us with a theme challenge all about Spring. This week we are also welcoming our new Design Team members Heidi and Jenn. We also have a fabulous Guest Designer for March, Sherry. Welcome ladies!!
I decided to use the sketch over at Just US Girls and the Colours at Pals Paper Arts. My card is extremely clean and simple...not a lot happening here but it is another card that I can add a sentiment to when I need a card for a certain occasion.
We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week! Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

CAS Kites for Three Challenges {Up in the Air Over You}
Just a quick post today!! I wanted to try some of the fun challenges out there I always seem to miss! We have a big weekend ahead so it was nice to create a CAS for fun! This card was very easy to make. I am trying hard to create CAS but it is a challenge for sure. I love the look of a white card base but I do not know what paper is the best for that CAS white base look. Any suggestions?
Stamps: Hero Arts {Right at Home} and SU! {Up, Up and Away}
Papers: SU! Bold Pattern Paper, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point
Inks: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point Marker for the hearts in the sentiment
Extras: Baker's Twine, Heart on the kite came from the Owl Punch
This card was created for the following challenges:
Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge-I flipped the sketch on its side
The Play Date Cafe-the colours (I tried to match them the closest I could)
CAS-ual Fridays-Paper Piecing-I paper pieced the kites
