“We reached the Star Port and I have never seen such a sight before and hope never to again.  It had been a damn hard fight to push the Styx Legion out of the Northern Sector and it had cost us dear.  Over six hundred killed and wounded but had it not been for the moth rotary cannons on our Gremlin AFV’s it would have been much higher. The rubbacrete pads were intact but strewn with bodies, so many bodies; not all of them intact.  The Legionaries do not provision the Maligs so they tend to their own needs.  Vermin.  We sought them out and took our vengeance for those civilians.  It seemed the enemy plan had been to bring a Dragonship down on the main pad. IAF184 Burgeon Retained Bike new 15mm Ion Age with Patrol Angis rules

“Among the ranks of the Retained Knights you will find the Burgeon. These knights are as adamant about the Code Gallant as any other but they take upon themselves an additional vow of loyalty that is beyond the duty of any others. For the Burgeon are the masters of the steeds. They are the riders of an animal which has no heart or legs but rather instead has an engine and thrusters which beat with as much if not more power than any creature's could. Our last 15mm sci-fi release of the year is here and is roaring into sight.  The new Burgeon wheeled bike (Ventus Model 407 Steed) is added to the range.  You can see it above with a hulking Afara Strider in the livery of the Prydian Army.

IAF184 Burgeon Wheeled Bike: The Retained riders of the semi-sentient steed the Ventus. A sleek and speedy vehicle. The Regiments of the Prydian Army and the Marcher Barons alike has platoons that are mounted on bikes for added mobility and fire power.  Few have the reliability and rugged survivability as the Model 207. Used for scouting missions as well as battle roles it is popular with its riders. With this set you can depict the bike in action or idle or the rider on foot for maximum flexibility. Great for skirmishing and then combining with other Prydian codes for larger formations and battles.

This code comprises three different poses of 15mm scale resin miniatures. You can also purchase each pose from this code as a single miniature for maximum flexibility.  When selecting single poses they are numbered 1 through to 3, running left to right.

That was on the third day on the outskirts of Northern Sector and we were pinned down.  So many Maligs and none with a sense of self preservation.  Five regiments calling for support and with no Retained Knights that meant our own armour.  We were the first to be aided by the Gremlins.  Their missile pods made short work of the defensive ramparts the Goblins had erected.  I signalled the advance and in the cover of their hulls we dispatched the survivors.  The Star Port was near and whatever the Khanate were up to we would stop it.” Captain Abraham Tull, 48th Planetary Defence Regiment, Northern Sector.  4346 IC.

Gremlin Hover Command vehicle 15mm Ion Age released

It was a game of cat and mouse..or rather it was a deadly fight between the vehicle patrols of the Planetary Defence Forces and the dug in Maligs with their heavy weapons. There is little doubt that the patrols would have suffered far greater casualties in pop up ambushes had it not been for the armoured command variants of the Gremlins which gave advantages. Not only in command and control but also in planning and the four Moth rotary cannons each carried were ideal for the twisted hinterlands of the city. Wasteful of fabricated ammunition possibly however the saving of lives always matters more. Over the course of a week the hinterland was cleared and advance into New Gwent could begin proper. The Star Port was a mess and the Khanate would pay.

Ion Age 15mm free Patrol Angis download updated Prydian Vehicles

A five page article covers the missing Adder Combat Tankettes as well as the lifter type Hazelwurm and Colabreta Carriers which are all Light Vehicles.  It has all the variants of the steadfast Mullo Armoured Fighting Vehicle and most requested all of the variants of the new Gremlin which are Medium Vehicles (recently released and still to come).  All of the Taranis Tanks which are Heavy Vehicles are already covered in Callsign Taranis.

Gremlins are Medium Vehicles used by the Planetary Militia and Grima Combat Robots in lower scale conflicts and in fights against Shia Khan Legions. Currently three hover variants under codes IAF185A, B and C.  There will be further Gremlins as per the game rules in this article later in 2024.

Mullos are hard hitting Medium Vehicles used by the Retained Knights as well as Muster in battle. There are three variants which are wheeled, tracked and replusar each coming with two turret load outs as well as three APC variants of the same.  Codes are IAF042A to IAF042F.

When you are deep in the city night and Malig Infiltrators are terrorising the innocent then the Hazelwurm will get your fire team to the block fast.

The Ion Age 15mm Range

Patrol Angis is a skirmish level of wargame which means it typically has between a dozen and about forty miniatures a side in play during a game. It works well with more but those amounts are ideal. Most games have one Platoon sized force per player and have one or two or maybe even three players. A Platoon or Lance which contains typically twenty two (22) miniatures. In Patrol Angis you play either as the Prydian Army in its quest to reclaim worlds lost to the Marcher Barons during the Civil War or you can play in the employ of Canlaster or Yordist or any of the other dozen smaller array of Marcher Barons. This includes playing as a “Conda”' or paid professional mercenary for any side.

This is low intensity warfare title where troops mainly on foot, root each other out over small objectives. It’s not massive, not often glamorous, but it’s pure adventure, it’s the stuff of heroes and it’s skirmishing at its best! Easy to get into and to build upon. It’s the starting point for your wargaming in The Ion Age!

It is a book or a digital download or a game pack with miniatures, dice and bases.

While Patrol Angis is meant for use with the 15mm range it can be used with the 28mm Ion Age Miniatures too. Simply change centimetres to inches and you are ready to go with Retained Knights, Muster and more. We have made great efforts to have both scales match up and it means the rules will work with both.

Grima Robotic Infantry 15mm released at The Ion Age

One of the largest ranges of 15mm scale sci-fi miniatures in the world gets bigger today with the reveal of Grima Combat Robots and their Planetary Militia operators. The Ion Age 15mm Range. 

 

The Planetary Militia are present on virtually every world of the Prydian Precinct and while the bulk of its troops are Men and Women there is another type of solider who fights; the Grima Combat Robots. Under Human control at all times and incapable of independent thought these machines selflessly serve using the same weapons and equipment that regular Planetary Militia’s do. Specialist operators control them issuing programmed orders.
