Ellephantastic Sketchy Snowman

In an effort to make a dent in my Christmas card list I am making a concerted effort to use images that I have had coloured in for a while and need to get cracking as I haven’t made anywhere near as many as I need to.

This little snowman is a digi by Ellephantastic and I have to admit it has been coloured in since early this year when I had all these great plans about making my chrissie cards all through the year……. I used one of my new Nestabilities dies from the NEC last week but slightly misjudged how big the image was so it’s been trimmed a bit too close for my liking L

I used a base card from a Craftwork Cards goodie bag with the snowflake paper from the pack. I also used my new Martha Stewart trellis punch on a scrap of iridescent card. I finished off with some peel off stickers for the sentiment. This card is a right mix of old and new, peel offs are years old, digi is about 10 months old and then the rest of it is all brand spanking new.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – 4” Square
Paper – Craftwork Cards
Embellishments – Peel off stickers
Tools – Nestabilities die, Martha Stewart Punch, Promarkers
Techniques – Die cutting & punching

Ellephantastic GDT

I am tremendously honoured to be a Guest Design Team member today for the November challenge over at Ellephantastic Challenges.

Helen is moving shortly so this will be the last challenge for a while and it is a weather theme this month. I was able to choose a fab image from the store to work with and have used Emily Autumn which is only £1.25 from the Ellephantastic Store

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and uses loads of Glossy Accents to make big fat raindrops, quite apt as the weather has been especially wet in the UK for the last few days and tonight is Bonfire Night so it is bound to pour down. Emily is quite cool and chilled out about it all. I think sometimes it is rather nice to just stand out in the rain especially if you are not going anywhere and don’t have to be worried about getting wet.

I used a sketch from  Paper Pretties for the layout and the papers are from  the Woodland Fold pad by Papermania. The bottom scrap was recycled from a product booklet from Liz Earle, if you look closely it has circles of squirrels on it and leaves and I thought it would be perfect to add to this card. I just trimmed it to size and used my Fiskars punch on the bottom edge. I made a shape from the image by drawing round it with a Nestabilities label die and reducing the width so it fit the image better and then used a scrap of brown card to mat this with. To finish it off I added the extra leaves made with digis from Kikkin Kreations in assorted Autumn colours.

Please pop on over to the Ellephantastic Challenges blog to see the lovely cards made by fellow GDT members and the regular challenge team using Helen’s fabulous images.
