Canada is required to arrest George W Bush:
4
Canada is required to arrest George W Bush: “Canada is required by its international obligations to arrest and prosecute former president Bush given his responsibility for crimes under international law including torture,” Amnesty’s Susan Lee said in a statement. “As the U.S. authorities have, so far, failed to bring former president Bush to justice, the international community must step in. A failure by Canada to take action during his visit would violate the UN Convention Against Torture and demonstrate contempt for fundamental human rights,” Lee said.
The whole lot of the Bush cronies should be arrested. What the hell gives Cheney the right to decide whether or not he is going to cooperate with a Special prosecutor? Last week after it was announced there would be an investigation we wondered Who will take the fall and will it go to the top like it should? Cut it off at the head doesn't only apply to killing snakes! All right this is a good start but I thought appointing special prosecutors is a waste of time and money but believe Holder will do this right for once. We now know veteran prosecutor John Durham has been appointed to the task of holding a so called limited investigation "narrow in scope" of the CIA and"illegal" torture techniques.
We saw narrow in scope when Clinton was investigated for Whitewater and we ended up with Monica Lewinsky and Impeachment under Ken Starr? We are now hearing of CIA threats to kill suspects kids. One terrorist suspect was told his Mother would be sexually assaulted in front of him. One was told his family would be killed.Waving a handgun next to a prisoners head, revving a power drill next to his head while shackled and hand cuffed' whether you agree with it or not this is torture!
Bush Lawyers who okayed this torture and Cheney, Rummy, and Rice, who gave the go ahead should be prosecuted period. Cheney, Rummy, Rice, the Attorney General, they are the ones who should all be held accountable. They were the lying underhanded enablers in all the Bush misadministration injustice. They should not get away scot free but I expect they will. I think it is great that officially the White House is staying out of this and they must. I am sure Bush pundits made a deal with him that there would be no prosecutions by him of higher ups.
It’s no surprise that Karl Rove puts politics before due process, democracy and civil rights. That’s why even when faced with a subpoena from Congress, Rove has refused to testify. Unlike Don Siegelman, Karl Rove is breaking the law. Rove believes that he is not only above the law, but that he controls it. He’s wrong. Check out Send Karl Rove to Jail, and sign our petition to ensure that the House Judiciary Committee holds Rove in contempt.
It was actually already attempted by citizens in Iowa and Des Moines police arrested four people Friday who attempted a citizen's arrest of former White House adviser Karl Rove. Rove was in Des Moines to speak at a fundraiser. A news release says a retired minister and three members of the Des Moines Catholic Workers community were cited for trespassing and released.
The four accused Rove of election fraud and conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud the United States in the time before the Iraq war. The arrest complaint also says they accused Rove of treason, sedition and subversive activities for fraudulent acts leading to the deaths of 300,000 Iraqi civilians and 4,000 U.S. Military personnel. Kirk Brown and Mona Shaw, two of the four arrested Friday, attempted a similar arrest last March when Rove spoke at the University of Iowa. attempted citizens arrest of Rove
* I understand this has already been attempted on John Boltonz and Condi Rice. I do not see any of them ever being held accountable but like the WW2 Nazi's I am having increasing hope that people will wake up some day and hold the perpetrators of this still just developing nightmare even though it will come too late to affect the outcome!
I think it is not only calculated but great that the White House is staying out of this. This is perfect because Eric Holder will take charge. The special prosecutors will start with the interrogators and go right to the top. As you know I think the interrogators thought they were protected so should be disciplined but keep their jobs. However when they do get to the top heads should roll and holder is the man to see it through!
Holder said only techniques not authorized by the CIA should be investigated. Supposedly firing guns on the other sides of prisoners cells so they would believe they would be shot was something else that was not authorized by the CIA but that authorization order is what should be closely perused. If the CIA did not authorize it the interrogators should be prosecuted if not go right to the top and prosecute them to the limit of the law! Cheney and Rummy did and they are the ones who ultimately should be prosecuted.
It is beyond me how Cheney has gotten away from day one of being an obvious fascist dictator and above law. It was obvious from the day he picked himself as dictator I mean Vice President that he was the real Decider. Now the scum is saying Obama has gone against his word in allowing Holder to hold investigations. Cheney just gets more ignorant every day. This is not the Bush misadministration when the AG did Cheney and Bush's bidding to enable their illegalities! Ridge, Cheney Assailed Holder's Decision
Why are they letting Cheney foam at the mouth and placate his mindless followers? Why has no one spoken up and reminded that Obama is not above the law like Bush was. He to my knowledge is doing things right. He was very smart to have Holder do this. Someone should speak up and shut Cheney up! The Attorney General does not do Obama's bidding they are an independent agency for a good reason as you saw under Bush and Cheney.
Someone of consequence better start speaking up. We are watching ourselves devolve into chaos and we have idiots like Cheney saying they do not know if they are going to cooperate with the law or not. How the hell can he say whether I cooperate or not depends on whether or not I like the line of questioning? He is accused Holder of making this Political while he reasserted that he is above the law. Someone better start Growing some and quick! Cheney shrugged off CIA-torture investigation
If we can not arrest and jail Bush and all his treasonous enablers we can only hope they are stupid enough to go to another country where they must be held accountable by UN law. It is a sad commentary where they can roam around the US because for some screwed up reason they are above the law here. WTF?

Britain alleges Brit tortured by Pakistan at US behest: That was not torture, you tell me!
UK Document Calls US Actions Torture, it gets worse but should it?
Okay lets talk torture! Water boarding we have discussed many times. That most definitely is torture and there is no gray area there. However sleep deprivation? I can handle that. If that is torture I guess that is a kinder gentler version. I will take that to having my finger and toe nails pulled out any day. We knew about the water boarding and sleep deprivation for quite a while but throwing people against walls what the heck is that? Slapping? Nudity, confinement with insects, sleeping in coffins, that is torture?
Stress positioning, throwing cold water on you? Beats the hell out of hot water. As I said, I do not know if that is torture. I remember at GITMO the prisoners were being "tortured" with the likes of listening to Rock music. You can conceive anything as torture even forcing someone to eat nothing but ice cream. Water boarding is torture so is cutting someone pulling out their nails or some of the things I remember hearing the Viet Cong do.
That said, some of what we are hearing here would not occur at a good hotel but there is no way I would call it torture. As I always say, consider the source. The source being Britain I I would have to say the bar is pretty low. It is not the so called torture that is the issue to me because there was no torture but it is about Britain making public material that was released to them in confidence.
That said, the British government has been forced to disclose U.S. intelligence related to the alleged torture of a former GITMO detainee, a move the U.K. had argued could jeopardize future intelligence sharing and you can bet it will. Remember what these guys have called torture in order to get what they want.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office released a seven-paragraph summary of U.S. intelligence that was given in confidence to British security services about ex-detainee Binyam Mohamed's treatment during U.S. interrogations in 2002.
I understand some things have gone on there in the past but have heard too many exaggerated misconstrued allegations to ad hoc believe or act on what I hear.
The paragraphs detail how Mr. Mohamed, an Ethiopian Brit was subjected to cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment such as sleep deprivation, threats and shackling. Torture? I mean come on! If that is all I had to be worried about with my sons being captured and tortured I would be relieved. I am sure in reality the Taliban, Al Qaeda, militants whatever you call them call something quite different torture.
Mohamed was detained in Pakistan in 2002 and transferred to Guantanamo Bay in 2004 before being released in February 2009. Sleep deprivation, threats, shackling, sounds like American prison life to me. If that is all Mohamed went through he is lucky. We are threatened throughout our life. Your shackles are off, catch up on your sleep and call it a day. Going through with this does not serve US or British interests.

7 former CIA directors try to hide the truth as CIA Chiefs Ask Obama to Stop Abuse Inquiry but Obama refuses to halt torture probe!
7 former CIA directors try to hide the truth as CIA Chiefs Ask Obama to Stop Abuse Inquiry
Obama refuses to halt CIA probe into torture
I just love this because Holder taking the point on this frees up Obama from any involvement though as a constitutional Lawyer I have to believe he is behind having the "alleged" torture investigated. Hmmm! 7 CIA Directors agree with Cheney. I as you most likely agree have to assume they have been guilty at one time or the other of indiscretion. I have to ask! If Cheney can decide whether or not he will cooperate and you know he will not what is to stop all the rest of them?
I reiterate What the hell gives Cheney the right to decide whether or not he is going to cooperate with a Special prosecutor? Special prosecutor announced! Unplugged: Uncovering CIA Interrogations
Unplugged: Uncovering CIA Interrogations
US prosecutor named to probe CIA prisoner abuses
Administration Releases More of Long-Classified CIA Report on ...
Who will take the fall and will it go to the top like it should? Cut it off at the head doesn't only apply to killing snakes! All right this is a good start and I believe appointing special prosecutors is a waste of time and money but believe Holder will do this right for once. A federal prosecutor will be appointed to investigate the mishandling of terror suspects by the CIA. Holder said this will be narrow in scope but that is a start.
I am sorry! I believe torture or not the CIA and the interrogators should not be held accountable. They were doing what our misleaders told them was okay and to do whatever you have to. I can agree with that if American lives are at stake but tell the friggen truth and let the chips fall where they may. Bush Lawyers who okayed this torture and Cheney, Rummy, and Rice, who gave the go ahead should be prosecuted period. Not the interrogators who were doing what the misadministration told them to do and that they thought was covered legally.
Cheney, Rummy, Rice, the Attorney General, they are the ones who should all be held accountable. They were the lying underhanded enablers in all the Bush misadministration injustice. They should not get away scot free but I expect they will. I think it is great that officially the White House is staying out of this and they must. So far I have heard 10 to 20 cases must be looked at. Robert Gibbs said President Obama does not want anyone that was following the rules to be investigated. Those who were using drills and guns beating prisoners with flashlights etc. torture or not were not following the rules. Cheney himself said said we would use anything any means available to them. He is the one they should end up going after. Cheney is still lying and saying torture worked though we know it brought disinformation and no actionable leads. I am sick of the lies!
To my knowledge the CIA never tortured before. Under Bush and Cheney they broke the rules and the order to do so came right from the top. It is old news that Cheney gave them permission. He should be tried, not because he did it but because he is lying. If you say or do something admit it and let the chips fall where they may. No big deal!
In closing: Leon Panetta has threatened to quit! I firmly believe the interrogators unless rogue should not be prosecuted. This 5 year old lie should be held against Cheney and the rest of his gang of lying misleaders. The investigators were generally doing what they were told and thought was covered by the law. Rummy and Cheney were the misleaders. They are the ones who made the investigators who were doing what they were told think they were above the law, They did not have a choice! Cheney and Rummy did and they are the ones who ultimately should be prosecuted.

Republicans have a driving desire to lose! Is it Senility?
I have heard it before but I heard Lindsey Graham who I can't stand quoted again as saying he does not want Republicans to be known as a party of angry old white men foaming at the mouth. The party no one wants to see let alone listen too. Too late! As they see themselves decline and with no chance of recovery they desperately look for ways to be young again. It is just like watching someone get old in a nursing home desperately trying to get out. Think about it!
You know the Cheney tag team rove and others are pounding on Obama on the torture issue. Obama is now being accused of back sliding by both party's for not doing as he said he would when he was running and that was in this instance to be transparent. Both sides are using the fact that he said he would be transparent against him. In this instance it is in regard to his saying he would release additional torture photos and it is coming from the left.
This is not back sliding. It is not a reversal, he is merely engaging brain which those with selfish interests are incapable or unwilling to do. I told you, Obama is on his own! This is merely a temporary wise stay as now is not the time to release additional photos of Americans torturing. Knowing a Presidents seeming penchant in damaging the US image the photos will come out and they will work against us. Whack! Thank You Sir may I have another! I just do not know any more.
Obama has largely done a great job but has not pleased me or any of us all the time. I disagree with a lot of his decisions but I am apprehensive to call a lot of this "back sliding" He is merely regrouping fortifying waking up to the reality that he can not act as quickly as he would like. At least I hope!
Pelosi and Reid like many complicit Democrats are as guilty as Cheney and Bush. Obama is being criticized because Gitmo has not been closed yet and now for not releasing the additional torture photos that would only serve at this time to give the MSM something else to talk about and to further divide and anger the country let alone what it would do in the Islamic world or anywhere else.
The timing of releasing the tapes right now is just wrong with Memorial Day right around the corner. President Obama is finding his limitations are many and his options few.No matter what he decides to do it will be declared wrong and endangering America by Cheney, Rove, and the rest of the Reich wing fear mongering Republican extremist agenda.
Again this is another given. By now I have said it numerous times but it must be obvious by now that Obama from day one has been set up for failure. If and when it does happen failure they worked for will be used by Republicans to regain control and finish us and their new disorder off. We must be smart enough to resist this from happening.
Obama is being accused of not releasing the photos as if he made the decision on his own. He was advised and rightly so I say not to release them at this time. General Odierno said no and Gates advised not now as it would endanger troops and Americans in general. Obama did campaign on transparency and it may be an excuse but now says he will not release them now as it will start anti American fervor all over again. For now I will reserve judgment and give Obama the benefit if doubt assuming he is simply doing the right thing and engaging brain before acting!
I am really impressed! We are not the only ones against water boarding. Jessie Ventura is seething. He was livid that Cheney continues to go on Fox and justify torture. I have to ask, when will Republicans be smart enough to pull the plug on the destroyer of their future? Ventura who as you know is no shrinking violet, speaks his mind, and is more than capable of backing it up. Ventura says he wishes he was President because torture is illegal and he would water board everyone that said otherwise. He would water board Cheney until he admitted to the Sharon Tate murders. I am sure he would. That would make Manson happy any way.
I have to ask! Why are those photos by the way in our bet interest? I know what was done and that it came from the top. I don't deem it in my best interest to fan the flames oh American hate here and around the world. Only to Partisans and MSM seeking to capitalize off the mayhem. Our Commanders in Iraq say attacks will increase up to 200% if the photos are released. I don't know about that, the so called terrorists already know they exist and that Obama declared them milder than those already shown. Obama said they are not sensational but do not agree with standard army behavior.
Word is that what Obama is really doing is slowing down the prosecution of torture. As if they needed any help! I believe they will raise more ire and consternation in the US than they will around the Islamic world. The pictures will show it was not a few Rogue soldiers as was the original lie by Cheney Rummy and Bush but that it came from the top as we knew. The pictures should at least go too a commission and for once an honest commission. America being America though, those pictures will leak out like everything and as expected appall America and the entire world. Another anti American can of worms has been opened.
Obama can not stop their showing now. Only the courts can. It is my own belief that they will with hold them in the name of our national security interest and then Obama will have his excuse for not being transparent. The courts won't allow me. What a novel move huh? Cheney stupidly as usual says the country must stand up to Obama. Maybe so but not in being against torture. Cheney says because Obama says it does not make it right. Liz backs him up saying Obama id cozying up to and siding with the terrorists. What is going on? What happened to secretive quiet Cheney? I'll tell you, he lost his puppet Bush! Whether we are attacked again or not and we will be, I will be indifferent. It will not be a reaffirmation that Cheney was right it will be because Cheney instigated it.
* In closing! We should not torture. Another attack will eventually happen anyway. I do believe that if the clock was ticking and I had the person with the information in my custody on a horrendous attack I would do whatever it takes to stop it wouldn't you? However Bush and Cheney put us in the fray. They lowered the standard. After the hearings two days ago we now have the proof from a CIA interrogator that torture does not work.
Information was being given until the water boarding started. Abu Zayda did not divulge actionable information. After being water boarded 83 times ha knew he was not going to be drowned. He simply started playing his interrogators game. He gave them information they wanted to hear. Even McCain said he did it too. I told you a study should be done on how much actionable information was attained if any versus conventional torture methods. Sounds sick doesn't it? I can't believe we are talking about this!

The Cheney torture Justification tag team!
Cheney keeps throwing fuel on the torture memo fire. He keeps saying torture kept us safe and gave us information we otherwise would not have gotten. As I keep saying, a study should be done to determine how much of that information was actionable and how much was worthless. Just given to stop the torture! Or of the torture was just used to keep false information thus this so called war on terror going.
We must take the moral high ground. There must be a better way than torture. It Bothers me that the most secretive VP in history to enable his misdeeds now that the gig is up has become the most talkative in history to hopefully get away with those deceitful misdeeds. It is time to put him to bed. There must be a law.
Certainly since the nightmare Bush snuck into office we have been clandestine. There has been no transparency or oversight. We must have transparency. As far as torture goes transparency is not just Pelosi's big gripe. The whole bunch is peeved that they use to be able to lie about everything. With Obama's new policy of transparency their complacency in Bush's crimes are coming to light. transparency has become the enemy of both sides thanks to Bush being the crime decider.
Anyway the torture memo hearings started yesterday. An FBI interrogator said torture does not work. Information was provided but as soon as torture started the information stopped. Quite contrary to what Cheney is saying so of course that guy is being dismissed as a disgruntled employee. I am so sick of this crap. I was thinking another reason for Herr Cheney's stupidity is that if there are hearings he can say he was under the impression it was legal though that is BS. We know low level Lawyers were found to write the so called torture memos and lo and behold he was given a Judgeship. Gee another coincidence!
I hope these hearings are mot more window dressing and will lead to something like a commission that actually functions to determine the truth. Remember the 9/11 commission hearings? They were a friggen bad joke. Cheney and Bush talking together holding each others hands, Rice lying through hr teeth and being labeled a hero, Everyone guilty as hell but with one of the few "partisan" efforts we see resulting an everyone being innocent and getting off scot free. What a friggen country, only in America!
All Cheney's efforts to say water boarding which was declared illegal during WW2 is okay and not torture is BS. It better be found as such. Listening too or even seeing snarling Dick Cheney is pure torture. I heard reference that water boarding is torture but Cliff May defended it being done by us saying that is an international law. He said we are not subject to international law in the US. What the heck is that? I am sick of semantics and worthless word games designed to enable ones crimes. Does that mean torture is illegal everywhere but in the US?
Now the Cheney torture tag team! I do not know if you noticed it or not but a method has developed in Cheney's efforts to justify his torture. One day Cheney comes out and says Obama is aiding the terrorists and snarlingly says torture is justified and is what kept us safe, In every instance the next day Liz Cheney hits the air waves defending her father saying Obama is siding with the terrorist and her Dad just does not want to see Obama endangering the country and discontinue water boarding which worked, An FBI interrogator just testified it does not work and has the opposite effect.
Of course the truth does not stop them. Now we have another generation discounting it as coming from a disgruntled employee or just a lie. I am so sick of this! Liz Cheney is supposedly the new fresh young "gay" voice of the big tent party again defending torture and everything Bush. What may I ask has changed?
Wait a minute, another sideshow, this just does not stop! I just heard Limbaugh say Obama is deliberately trying to destroy the economy. Wait a minute how is that possible? Didn't Bush already purposely wreck it? Just how do you wreck a wrecked economy? Supposedly Obama is trying to Sabotage the stock market. Didn't Greenspan already do that for Bush? Are we not paying the price now? Limbaugh is making accusations of forced reparations.
Limbaugh says Obama is purposely creating a welfare state. Isn't that what they said about FDR? Yes it it so I guess that is a good thing. Limbaugh stupidly said Obama is getting even for slavery. Does that mean only Blacks will be part of Obama's welfare state? That is one warped mind. I refuse to believe the likes of Cheney and Limbaugh influence Republicans let alone what the rest of the extremists say.
Oh yeah, speaking of stupidity other Republican extremists Cavutto suggested that he heard wrongly held should and would get welfare for being wrongly held. Where the hell do they get this crap? I am sick of hearing Cheney loves the US. He does not, does not. He loves only his and Bush's version and keeping himself out of jail. Dick Cheney appears to be a defendant working a jury. Why the relentless torture PR? campaign? I thought Cheney was going to retire and go fishing?
