Red Fish

I know you are probably bored with seeing these fish blocks by now, but I promise this is the last set that I will be making.

Fishies in red! As we speak they are winging their way across the big pond to the swap hostess, I hope they find their way ok with out eyes! Can't wait to get the return package from this fun swap:)

Orange Fish

I'm having a lot of fun with these fish blocks. Of course I'm sure you knew there has to be a set of orange fishes in my future somewhere :)
No eyes this time, some of the ladies in the swap will want to have embroidered eyes instead of button eyes so we've decide to leave theme eyeless for now!

Scrappy Flowers

I'm beginning to realise that at this time of the year, even with some day light getting good photos is proving to be difficult, still I will plough on :)

I've been working on the next row for the Row Robin swap that I am taking part in. Now this one is different as Mary has asked that her blocks not be joined together but just left as they are. What a quick, easy and fun pattern she has chosen.
Another one that is perfect for raiding those scraps and small pieces I've been hoarding.

I think she is going to have a really fun quilt at the end of this swap!
Mary said that she will be embellishing with some scrappy leaves and things once it's put together so I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished top.
I don't have much space in my little house and with these not being joined together it was super tricky for me to try and get a photo, but I laid them out on my bed and did the best I could.I wonder what the next round of this robin will be throwing my way?....

Pink Fishes

To help me with my stash busting mission I decided to sign up for a couple of quilt block swaps. I know, I know technically I won't be stash busting as I will get blocks back but I have it in mind that eventually I might make a few charity quilts from these blocks (or maybe donate them to a woman who can if I don't find the time, lol

Anyway I have been having fun with fishes this week.

These cute blocks are just 8.5 inches and are being swapped in sets of four.

What a great block they are for using scraps on too! Vicki if you look closely you might recognise some of these fabrics!

They are due in the mail by the end of the month so I'm hoping to get another couple of sets done before they have to swim there way across the big pond to the swap hostess.

Black and White

Anyone who pops by regularly will remember the row of kitties that I made recently for a row robin swap. Well it's my turn now to work on my first row for someone else.

I'm working on Susan's row and she has decided on a black and white, any block pattern goes. I went and raided my stash for black and white fabrics in all their variations and my immediate thought was heck I'm going to need to go shopping.

But I'm proud to say that a little while later I remembered that one of the main reasons I wanted to join this robin was to try and help me in my long term goal of reducing my stash of fabric so I just got stuck in and yes I had more than enough already to make my five blocks for the row :)

Amish Diamond

Nine Patch Variation

Ohio Star

Log Cabin

Spinning Four Patch

I decided to stick to relatively simple block patterns as I thought this would suit the colour scheme. Here is a picture of my row added to Susan's original row. (Susan's row on top)

What a great quilt she will have at the end. I'm looking forward to getting the next one to work on too. I wonder what it will be......
