Wishing You a Blessed Christmas

Hello and welcome to July 1.

The new challenge has begun over at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog. The challenge runs July 1 thru August 15. Plenty of time for you to make a Christmas project and get it submitted it to the challenge. The Merry Little Christmas Challenge is an all-crafts Christmas challenge blog and welcomes any and all kinds of handmade Christmas creations all year long.

I love Christmas and making cards for that season is really a joy, especially if you are not in a rush. So,  the more Christmas cards I make now, the fewer I will need to make at Christmastime. (LOL)

I perused all my Christmas stamps and this pretty bird caught my eye. Its from an old set from a company that is sadly no longer around, My Sentiments Exactly (MSE).

I added a gold frame but it looked kind of plain to me, so I added embossed swirls to give more interest.

To carry that Christmas theme onto the frame I added holly and some flowers, (poinsettias of course. LOL)

I colored the bird with Inktense pencils and water to soften the colors and  used Straedler Triplus Fineliners to add accents to the colors. The sentiment is part of the stamp set I used.

Products I used:
Stamps - My Sentiments Exactly - Blessed Christmas; Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia & Holly stamps dies and shaping mold
CS - Red, Green, White, Gold
Inks - VersaMark; VersaFine - Nocturne; Memento - Northern Pine
Misc.- Flat Backed Pearls Red & Gold; Gold Embossing Powder; Swirl Embossing Folder; Water Brush; Inktense Pencils; Staedler triplus fineliner,

I am submitting my project to the following challenges:
Hope you enjoyed my creation. I am looking forward to seeing one of your Christmas projects in the challenge submissions.

Thanks it for now. See you soon,

Season's Greetings

 Hi Everyone,

I am back today with a Christmas card.  I know I might be rushing the season, but the more Christmas cards I finish now, the fewer I need to make later on. LOL

This is a card I made for the monthly club meeting that I host here in my home.

The card theme for June was to use plaid. And plaid always make me think of Christmas. So that's where I went with this card.

I started out with a white 6X6 card and next added a green layer. On top of that I used a plaid CS layer as the background. I decided to add a gold oval in the center of the card and use trees as the focal point. I also embossed the trees with dots and added glitter glue to add sparkle to those trees. I used strips of gold CS to add a border to the top and the bottom areas of the card, I had a sentiment that fit well with the card and used gold embossing powder to continue with the gold in the card.

These are the items I used on the card:
  • CS - White, plaid, gold, green, red
  • Dies - Oval, Trees (Spellbinders)
  • Ink - VersaMark
  • Misc - Gold EP
  • Stamp Sentiment - Inkadinkado Happy Holidays (Really old set)
Another Christmas card done, and many more to do LOL

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping in today. I will be back soon

Merry Christmas

Hello crafters,

Some of you may know,  I belong to a stamping club.
We meet once a month and its always on the 2nd Tuesday evening
Club meeting was Tuesday evening and we are to bring 2 completed projects.
A themed project and a challenge project.
The projects can be anything and not necessarily a card.
I made a card and I thought I'd pop in and share with you the theme card that I made for club.
The theme for September was to use banners and/or hearts.

Well I decided to make a Christmas card.

I used the banners to spell MERRY  and just added the word Christmas
below it on a seperate vellum piece
I thought my banner would look great against a distressed brick wall.
This is a quick and easy card to make and the banner would look great
against many different backgrounds.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Paper/Card Stock: Red CS, Vellum
Ink: Fresco - Medusa  White
Dies Used: Art-C  Thinking of You Stamp & Die Set, Recollections Lower case alphabet
Accessories: Bakers Twine , Sizzix Embossing Folder - Brick Wall, Stampendous Class A'peals Stickers (sparkly dots on the brick wall), Christmas word on the vellum banner - Stickers from Stamp On It, Brads

I am submitting my card in the following challenges

Friday, I will be back to share my challenge card.
Just as a tease, we were given a very small (and I mean very small) embroidery hoop
to use on the challenge project.
As soon as I saw the embroidery hoop I knew what I wanted to do.
OK, Enough hints
I will post that card on Friday, so stop back for an interesting card ....hehehe

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you liked my card I made for the Theme (Use a banner) project
I hope to see you on Friday

Merry Christmas

Welcome back, everyone.
Today is the start of the new challenge #68 over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends

There are two sponsors for this challenge and I am using Christmas Wreath from Lemon Shortbread

Please go to Lil Patch of Crafty Friends blog to check out the other designer's projects using
Kitty Bee Designs, our other sponsor.

With the holiday season fast approaching
I decided on using this cute mouse sitting in a Christmas wreath.

I colored this sweet image with colored pencils and used Gamsol to blend the colors out on the wreath. The ribbon/bow and the bells were colored with Spectrum Noir Sparkles. I added gold twine to the wreath and then added some outline sticker dots on the wreath. Also, I mounted that cute image over an oval mirror cardstock piece. On the panel, under the oval, I stamped tall pine trees from Stampscapes and then added a Tim Holtz die cut pine tree just to add additional interest.

The sentiment is another Tim Holtz die. I used a silver card stock paper and after I glued that on I didn't care for the look so I added that same sentiment die cut in gold cardstock and attached it off center to give it a contrast. I love the way it turned out. Sorry, it's not showing up well in this pic.

Hopefully, this card has inspired you a little.
Just remember we are a little over 9 weeks out til Christmas is here.

Well I know its not even close to Christmas yet, but I thought I'd tease you all a bit.

Believe - New Challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today. It's time to share my latest project for Crafty Creations Challenges.

Challenge #304 with a theme of Happy Holiday, starts today, will run for two weeks and the theme is Happy Holiday.
The sponsor for this challenge is A Creative Need.

    Check them out here

They have a wonderful selection of digital images.

You know Santa is waiting for his special nite to make his appearance. And while we all await his appearance, I decided to showcase his hat on my card.
His hat is definitely identifiable with the jolly man

I chose to add some dimension to the furry brim and the ball on the on this darling image

Here is a closer view of the hat, Hope you can see that dimension better.

I used a product called as Snow Marker by Marvy Uchida. This product is applied like a marker. Its goes on in a  milky white color. After applied, heat it with your heat tool, and it will puff right up. Makes great snow or any puffy dimensional accent.

    SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT
