Love Bracelet

Hi Crafty Friends, I'm here today with a bracelet tutorial for Crafty Ribbons . First off I gathered my ingredients - Heart ribbon and 2 contrasting colours of 3mm organza ribbons (you'll need a little more than twice the length of your wrist of each ribbon).  A few seed beads.  Fixings for a bracelet and 2 ribbon clasps.  Needle and thread, jewellery pliers, matte medium. Of course you can choose any colours and any ribbons. Cut your main ribbon (in this case the heart ribbon) in half.  Add the organza ribbons to one end with a couple of small stitches.  Ensure it is close enough to the end of the ribbon to be covered by the ribbon clasps. Seal the edges of the ribbon and the stitches with a little matte medium or P.V.A. glue.  This will prevent fraynigfraying and make sure your knot stays tight. Measure 9 equal distances and make tiny marks with a pencil.  This is where we will add our beads. Cross the organza ribbons over each p...

Rainbow bracelet

When I made my strawberry mini album I used all the hearts and beads from the love beats sequin mix ... this left me with rather a lot of iridescent white 10mm sequins.  Only one thing for it - I had to continue with my sequin jewellery experiments! I felt I needed to add some colour so I pulled a rainbow of threads from my stash.  I attached them to a three strand bar clasp and wove the sequins on. It didn't turn out quite like I had imagined it in my head but I am really pleased with it. I'm ready to get to work with my new release sequin mixes - don't forget to check them out here and use Laura15 for a nice little discount!

Mint Chip

Ah, mint chip sequins , don't tell the others... but you are my favourite! I'm up on the SpiegelMom 's blog with this little bracelet today.  Put together with two types of jump rings, two types of sequins and two pairs of pliers! Thanks to my model Mum for being so patient while I photographed it!

Lace and Ribbon

Hi Guys,   I’m back with another DT piece for Crafty Ribbons Challenges .   This week’s theme is LACE AND RIBBON picked by ME! I’ve made a sweet little bracelet... I have used: 3mm satin , 3mm organza and Etienne lace all from Crafty Ribbons. as well as: jewellery findings picked up from a bead fair a few years back! I hope you'll join us at Crafty Ribbons Challenges this week!

Bracelets

I took these cords out of the fabric tags I used on my last layout .  You know me, I don't throw anything away...  I decided to make them in to bracelets.  And, what do you know, they fit me perfectly! I decided the plain cream was not enough for me so I used my inktense pencils to add some colour.  Inktense, once wet and dried, are permanent.  I added a few little crochet charms my Pet Crocheter whipped up and hey presto!  A wrist full of fun! I get a real kick making something from nothing, and from making something non-scrapbook-y with my Like For Ever scrapbook kit. Thanks for stopping by!

I love Buttons!

It's my turn to share a project on the Crafty Ribbons Inspirations blog today. I started with these... which I pulled from a selection of Basics To Go - Novelty .  Seriously guys, get a bag of these!  Filled with all sorts of goodness!  And this is what I ended up with. It's three strands of buttons very loosely plaited. I used double threads and went through each button twice. (I was going to apologise for my hairy arms but they are the only arms I have... and they serve me pretty well... so what the hey if they are a little hairy!!  We should all be a less focused on how dissatisfied we are with our bodies, I'm starting now!)  All held together with a lobster claw clip and a few jump rings.  Perfect for wearing on the beach. Have a great day!

Guesting at Quirky's!

I won the chocolate challenge at Quirky Crafts a couple of weeks back and part of the prize is the honour of being guest designer.  Here is my make... The theme is Make A Quirky Mess - right up my street!! Here are a few photos of the layering process.  I meant to take more step by step photos but *sigh* you know how it is...  I just got carried away painting and creating that I completely forgot to stop a take a photo of each layer.  This is a bit of a self portrait really. This little girl [I've renamed her Laura ;)] has painted this canvas and made a hell of a mess whilst she was at it. She used acrylic paints, ink, gesso, mists, oil crayons, mulberry tissue, matte medium and rub ons on the canvas board.     I've coloured the Squigglefly 'digi-me' with watercolour pencils, fuusy cut (but not very fussily looking at the close up!!) and added Crafty Ribbons neon ribbon to her dress and hair.  To make the sel...

Pencil Button Bracelet!!

Now you know by now that I am easily excited... Look!!  Pencils as a bracelet!!  :)  :) Super simple but I love it.  I used 30 pencil buttons and a couple of lengths of beading elastic.  I get my elastic from the Brighton Bead Shop but I reckon you could just use shearing elastic from the haberdashers for this.     I simply threaded the buttons on to the elastic and tied a knot.  I love the outcome and I don't think I am capable of wearing it without smiling!       This is for Crafty Ribbons Challenge 39 - Button Up! - Come on over and join us!! Thanks for stopping by!

Yummy Neon Bracelet!

At Crafty Ribbons Challenge this fortnight it is Anything Goes WITH RIBBON.  In fact every other fortnight it will be this theme which I'm excited about because we should get a wider selection of crafts not just cards.  Although I do love seeing all the cards... So I decided I needed another bracelet... Of course it needed to be neon. So I took some satin ribbon (you could try using black satin 3mm, key lime 3mm, and neon orange 3mm  [The actual ribbons are not on the website as Ali hasn't come across anyone quite as mad as me when it comes to neon!!]) and a three strand slide clasp... I tied a few knots at regular intervals... et voila!     This is going to be my bracelet of the summer.  Just need to wait for summer to arrive now!     Don't forget anything you have made in the last week or will make in the next week that has ribbon on it can be entered HERE , go on, you know you want to ...
