Somethign nice a silly for today... A button pom pom ring.  I had a ring blank left over from making jewellery several years ago and I wondered if I could make a fun Christmas ring.  I made this in Novemebr and may have been a little inspired by the fireworks... I dipped in to my red buttons and pulled out lots of different sizes, shapes and shades.  Nothing matching or measured about this!  I used some green embroidery thread to sew them to the loop on the ring base.  I wanted the green to be visible so I left the tails of thread attached but trimmed. I've been wearing it quite a lot this month and I love it.  It is totally bonkers, almost like wearing a percussion instrument, as it rattles and makes noises as I move.  I'll definitely be making more of these in the new year in other colours :) Thanks for stopping by :)

I think I might be dreaming of spring and summer... I thought this up over the weekend - I was fiddling with some ribbon and accidentally made some wings!  I thought it would be rude not to try and make a body to go with, so after a few attempts... I made a dragonfly! I tried all sorts of beads of different shapes and sizes and I think this was the best fit. I then added it to a ring base.  It took three attempts to get it attached satisfactorily - I still think I might try it differently next time.      I love his bug-eyes that stick out the side of his head!
