Skull and Cross Buns Stencils

Skull and Cross Buns have some fun new stencil designs - check them out here . I have a couple of cards and a layout to share now and a whole bunch of partially finished projects using these stencils - I may have got carried away! The Raindrops stencil is very apt for me right now - I feel like I could have made this card for myself! Sentiment stamp also from Skull and Cross Buns, ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, heart and sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. I love this pattern!  This is the Diamond Harlequin stencilled in blue/green ombre then the stencil shifted over by half a repeat and black stencilled on top. Having tried and failed to get this foam SMILE from Jillibean Soup on to three scrapbook layouts I figured I'd try and get it on to a card.  Enamel dots (from Pretty My Page) add a finishing touch. Gold edges and colour matched foam because the tiny details matter!  This layout uses the Dots and Spots stencil in the background. ...

Dream Big

Every StickerKitten collection comes with kraft and black patterned papers.  My initial reaction to them was 'I wonder if you can foil them?'  Well, the first try didn't work BUT it was because I used the wrong kind of foil.  Who knew there were different kinds of heat activated foil?!  The results were not the perfect teal fish on a kraft background that I was hoping for.  Whilst the fish were perfect the foil stuck to most of the background, too, but it was too good to throw away. I pulled out a sheet of teal 12x12 glitter cardstock to use as my background, my wrongly foiled paper and a few more of the kraft papers from Mermaid Treasures .  I based my layout on the latest sketch in the For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group. I used an acrylic piece from Skull and Cross Buns for my title. The wooden pieces from StickerKitten were coloured up with Liquitex ink.  I added details to them with mica powder and chunky glitter. Birthday Fishes

In 'Mermaid Treasures', the newest collection from StickerKitten , there are two stamp sets.  One has larger mermaid stamps and the other a variety of smaller sea creatures .  Amongst the second set are a few shoals of fish... I love them!  And I think they look really effective stamped en masse like this.  Of course, they look good in a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks - everything looks great in rainbow colour! I popped the sentiment up on a layer of black card, and popped that up from the card.  I'm using 1mm foam pads so it is still slim enough to go through the post without any trouble. Hythe Beach

Here is the second of my layouts for StickerKitten using Mermaid Treasures .  This one uses the negatives from the digital die cut I used in the last layout . I used a few mists from Shimmerz for the background.  There was lots of splattering and a little bit of the packaging technique. For the layering behind the photos I used the 6x6 papers from the collection.  There are 2 packs of paper to choose from. And to finish I added some sequins - also part of the collection - which perfectly coordinate. Thanks for looking!
