Pretty My Page | The Beginnings of a Home Schooling Mini Album

I thought I was going to be making a 12x12 layout with both the House Front cut file and the Cyber/Home School file from Pretty My Page... but I accidently cut them on different shades of white cardstock and they looked a bit off together.   I then discovered that my photos fit nicely inside the house windows and that led me down an entirely different path. I figure I’m going to have quite a few photos of my nephews home schooling adventures and what better than keeping them all together in a mini album.   This might be the front page; it might evolve again as we go and become an inside page!   You can really tell this is in the “seed of an idea” stage and not the completed project that I would usually be sharing in a blog post!   This is a 6x6 page, the house being five and a bit inches at its widest point. The cut file is such a cute design and for me was calling out to simply be backed with papers.   As I mentioned the subject my phot...

Round Up | Everything Else I've missed!

The last three projects I've yet to blog...  First up is a mini album for Pretty My Page. You can read about this here . I was asked to design a sketch for UK Scrap Addicts and also to guest design for them. Here is my very literal take on the sketch! You can pop over here to get my take on sketches. And finally I seem to have missed blogging this cutie... Made with various Skulll And Cross Buns products and some Doodlebug papers.  Sequins, as always, from SpiegelMom Scraps. Thanks for stopping by!

Tea Wisdom

Hi there, I'm back with project number two from my May Glittery Hands Box box. I’ve combined the other half of the tag book and the envelopes along with some of the gorgeous patterned papers for this little album.  (The other half, I hear you say? Yes, check out the other little project here! ) I stuck three tags together to make a firmer base to hold the envelopes.  I want this to be something you can fiddle with without worrying about damaging it, I’m not after delicacy.   I decorated the envelopes with cups and cakes cut from the patterned paper Emma designed. I printed off some wisdomous quotes about tea that I found on Pinterest and stuck them on paper cut to fit inside the envelopes.  You could also hand write notes specific to the recipient. I am going to add some Bible references to the other side of these little inserts before I gift this to a friend. As I had already used the ring to bind my fli...

ICE CREAM

Photo heavy post... I've made another mini album!  Oh I love it, the colours, the patterns, the subject matter!!  Let me walk you through it... It's quite a dinky hand-sized album.  The pages are a mixture of tags, cardstock rectangles, a glassine bag... all very eclectic!  There was a die cut circle on my desk so that went in too! I've used a printable collection from Claudia Van R and supplies from SpiegelMom Scraps .  The only additional supplies were some hole reinforcers from Heidi Swapp, a gold pen, and a book ring I coloured gold to match the collection. A brief note about the subject matter:  I like ice cream a lot.  We went away for a week and I tried to eat an ice cream every day!! The colours of the sequins in the spring bloom sequin mix perfectly match the Amy collection. Rather than keep my rectangular pages regular I let the photo overlap the edge.  This gave me some interesting shapes and a good way to add...

mr and mrs

Huge excitement over here...  I have been invited to be guest designer for like for ever this month.  This in itself is beyond belief but then to find out that the kit would be featuring Cocoa Vanilla products... well, they are just my favourite company ever .  It couldn't be any better!  I am one lucky girl.  So I thought I'd better make some knock out projects... First up I made this tiny-mini-album-tin-keep-sake to celebrate a friends wedding. I've written about it on the like for ever blog here . I had a little problem getting the album out of the tin but this was easily solved by adding a ribbon tab to the base of the tin.  A little tug on the ribbon and it pops out. The happy couple are a photographer and a glass work bead maker.  I made a charm to reflect this using beads made by the bride - the fabulous Rebecca Weddell - and a wooden camera from Cocoa Vanilla. The tin that holds the album came with a magazine as a free...

Chococo

Here is a post first published last week on SpiegelMom Scraps blog... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For my third guest designer project for SpiegelMom Scraps I promised you a mini album... and here it is! I had a wonderful lunch at a chocolate cafe and thought it would make a lovely mini album, so I collected a few bits and pieces from the cafe.  I picked up the chocolate menu, and kept some cellophane wrapping and tissue paper used to wrap up my purchases, and the companies ribbon that was used to tie the package.  I also kept the paper bag and the label from Mum's tea bag. The plan was to build a little kit around the collected ephemera, so I searched my paper and washi stash for matching colours.  Serendipitously the ribbon in SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy shop were the perfect colours. I added cork shapes and wood veneers to my mini kit, and enough sequins for them to feature on every page....

Chococo Sneak...

Continuing my May Guest Designer stint at Spiegel Mom Scraps , today Jody's website features a mini album...  Here is a sneak... I hope you can pop over and have a look x

E13

It is my turn to inspire readers over at Crafty Ribbons Inspiration blog today.  I'm sharing here in a little more detail... I wanted to make a mini tag album for my cousin.  She has turned 13  (how did that happen so quickly?!?!) and I got all nostalgic for baby photos of her.  I gathered photos from the first 5 years of her life and put them in chronological order.  Then I picked out my base - tags - in a good selection of colours and sizes.  Then I pulled out other things I wanted to include.  Once I had all these things to hand there was no stopping me... And this is what I made.  I always dress binding rings with ribbon.  This time I've used 3mm , sheer dots , flowers and hearts .   I'm not going to share every page individually but I will show my 'filler' tags.  These are the ones with no photo on.  I like to add filler pages every third or fourth tag to keep the album pretty and light. Another...
