Showing posts with the label mini book

books

Hi there!  Today is my first layout for Stick It Down .  The sketch is by Evelyn... And this is what I came up with... The supplies are from June's like for ever kit along with dots and hearts from my stash. I switched the sketch up a little (as always!) and put my title in the small squares towards the bottom of the layout.  I made those small squares in to little tiny books! And where the title should be I have a little cluster. You can see my process here: I hope you feel inspired to play along with the sketch this month.  Be sure to link up in the side bar here ! Thanks for stopping by!

Fabric Book

This post first appeared on spiegelmomscraps.com as a guest post. For my first guest post for Spiegel Mom Scraps I decided to make use of the gorgeous sequins.  I used two mixes - you can find all the sequins, mixes and plain, here . I recycled an old fabric sample swatch for this little meditative fabric mini book.  I didn't want a very neat finish so I just used a zig zag sewing machine stitch around the edges of my fabric and left a few loose threads on show. When I had my page blanks sewn I pulled out a couple of stencils and some modelling paste.  I picked through the words on the stencil and made my own sentence... It reads, "release yesterday and the day before that surrender today and tomorrow. find art and beauty" When my modelling paste was dry I went through hand sewing a few sequins on each page.  Where possible I added a sequin on both sides of the fabric so none of the stitches were showing on the reverse side of the page. Whe...

Mini Madness Monday IIIII

This is the last of the backlog of mini albums I have to share with you.  You can check out the others here and here and here and here .  Ironically this is the first one I made and the last to share. I wasn't happy with it or the other circumstances around it (doesn't life get in the way sometimes? tch!) so it got put at the back of the cupboard and that is where it lived until my tidy up.  I still don't love it but that's OK. For the carcass of the album I used a brochure from the hotel we had a posh afternoon tea at.  I love the idea of using a brochure as a mini and want to try this again some time.  The day was wet and dreary but we set off across the county to a lovely hotel for an afternoon tea.  I added paint to some parts of the brochure but left other bits untouched. The hotel was amazing and wanted to add photos of all the details... We went to 'celebrate' the anniversary of me being ill for 12 years.  Usually the...

Psalm 23

I won some card blanks a few years back and I really had no idea what to do with them.  They were not the conventional folded cards I am used to - they were single sheets with apertures.  I was stumped.  In the end I decided to ink them all up and make them in to a book.  I joined them with washi tape and I choose Psalm 23 as the subject, as I have been studying it lately.   Have a look...  There are Loads of photos!!  Click to go bigger...   I added a few pages - vellum and tissue to add to the texture of the book. And a few more with some details highlighted...     I'm not sure how I'm going to use it yet.  I've meditated through it a few times but I want to use it for something good... I guess the rightful owner will show themselves when the time is right :)    I'd like to share this at: Faith Filled Friday Word Art ...
