Card Making | CAS Colours And Sketches 534

Happy Tuesday!  It's time for a new colour swatch at CC&S ... It's a beautiful colour palette and one I tend to be drawn to often as a lover of all things green and being partial to a bit of peach, specifically Nectar from C9.   I've added a touch of stencilling in the background and layered up three butterflies on top.  A simple stamped sentiment (W Plus 9) underneath finishes it off nicely. You know I love a chance to play with my extensive thread collection and it's not a surprise that I had a perfect match to my inks.  The thread is simply wrapped around the middle of the butterfly with the loose ends acting as antennas. I hope you'll join us at CAS Colours and Sketches for this beautiful colour combo!

Card Making | CAS Colours & Sketches #529

I am loving the *really* clean and simple look right now... This is made for the new challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches which you can find out more about here.   It's based on this sketch... Obviously I switched the heart out for the greeting which is die cut (Create A Smile), stamped and die cut (Heffy Doodle), stacked, popped up and glittered.  CAS is all about those tiny details! Father Christmas Mum got me a fancy set of glittery threads for Christmas and I used three colours to mimic the triangular split of the card base indicated on the sketch. I dotted in a few iridescent circle confetti pieces.  They are tiny but very shiny.  They flash pink, blue and aqua in different light and are almost invisible from some angles. I hope you are inspired to play along with us at CAS C&S !

NSD Fun #1

Here are a few layouts I made over the weekend for NSD challenges. This one combines Bramble Fox and Lottie Loves Paper challenges. The design is a rough scraplift of Philippa McCray for Bramble Fox Whilst the yellow and white striped paper bag conceals hidden journalling for the Lottie Loves Paper challenge. This second layout is based on a sketch I created for Lottie Loves Paper. This bird paper from Paige Evans is a firm favourite of mine. Never has the term thread nest been more appropriate! I added some stitching for extra detail.   And finally a footie themed layout using papers I designed. This fits a tic tac toe board from Lottie Loves Paper - blue alphas, two photos and 3+ hearts. I had to piece together some grey alphas to make missing letters.  I'm sure it looks OK but it's all I can see at the moment! I have a couple more layouts to share tomorrow.

Lottie Loves Paper | Cyber Crop I

This weekend Lottie Loves Paper are having a cyber crop in their fabulous facebook community.  I'm guest designing for a couple of challenges... First up is this sketch... Here's my process video: And a bunch of close ups... I've used goodies from Pink Fresh bought from Lottie Loves Paper, of course! And yes, I have gone overboard with the close ups again!  But I like close ups!  Tangled thread and shiny sequins are awesome! I'd love to see you over in the Lottie Loves Paper group over the weekend joining in.  I'm sure there will be lots of fun to be had and prizes tii! Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap Squad | L

I'm sharing another Scrap Squad lift from last weekend.  This is a take on a Sarah Jayne layout.  You might know SJ as Mrs Lottie Loves Paper... and on that note Lottie Loves paper are having a Cyber Crop this weekend. Pretty much everything on this layout is Pretty Little Studio/Zinia Redo.  The majority is from her first collection with a few heart stickers added from her second collection. You can't beat a bit of rainbow stitching!  Plus I have to justify having SO many threads - I need them to match all of the papers! Same goes for enamel dots!  I'm low on blue enamel dots so I'm seeking a mixed pack of blues... give a shout if you know of a pack as so far I've not found any. Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbooking | Layers

I'll be honest with you, I'm not entirely sure the difference between matting, layering and clustering.  I think this is all of them! I grabbed a handful of large scraps from my white off cuts box.  This box is where all my squared off white, black, grey and vellum scraps live and multiply.  I've learnt to square them off before squirreling them away in the box as there is nothing more frustrating than trying to pull out one piece and having it bring all of its friends as their sticky out bits are intertwined! I layered up the pieces forming a large cluster to mat my photo.  (I'm sticking with all three terms!) I use foam squares behind the corners of some layers to give dimension.  There are also a few circles and a nest of gold thread tucked in amongst the layered goodness. I finished off with sequins because sequins make everything better! Thanks for looking!

Epic Easter Post!

I'm squeezing all of this years Easter creations in to this post... First up this little scene feayuring stamps from Skull and Cross Buns, distress oxide inks and a bunny shaped cookie cutter. Such a fun piece to create!  Next up cards and stamped images... These are made using new Skull and Cross Buns stamp sets and the new Card Kit. The card kit is a new venture for SACB and I think it is great value.  I still have plenty left for more creations. Let's face it.  These stamps are just plain cute!  I ran out of time to make them all into Easter cards for this year. And finally an Ester banner... This banner template is a digital downlaod from Prettty My Page.  I've cut it on card that matched the colours of acrylic emnellishments in the SACB card kit. I kept them embellishing fairly simple, just nestling the acrlic on to a thread tangle and popping a few sequins around the pennants. I'll be loathed to ta...
