Painted Flowers

Here is my clean and simple design for the new CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge with inspiration from Altenew's May Inspiration Challenge photo! I used just a hint of lavender by adding a pale watercolor wash using Zig's #803 English Lavender Clean Color brush pen.  I then stamped some splatters using Milled Lavender distress ink.  The flowers - from Altenew's Painted Flowers set - were stamped off once then step 2
was done with the same Picked Raspberry distress ink.  I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress inks for the leaves.  I looped some black thread held in place with a medium glue dot and added the white embossed sentiment from Altenew's Painted Greetings set.  The white base panel was die cut using Reverse Confetti's Lacy Scallop Frame Confetti Cut die.  This was adhered over Raspberry Fizz cardstock by PTI.

I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme "A Hint of Pink".

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a wonderful Thursday!

Can you believe it? We're already in December and it's once again time for another Color Throwdown Challenge...this time hosted by the talented Bar Anders!

I thought these colors would work great with this sweet little nativity digi by Lori Boyd from By Lori Designs.  I colored with Copics, cut it out and popped it with foam dots.  The layout is for Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge.

Be sure and check out the other design team members' creations on the Color Throwdown blog for more inspiration or stop by their respective blogs.  We're also thrilled to announce that our guest designer for the next couple of months is a regular CTD participant and is a super talented papercrafter!  Welcome Miriam Napier from Miriam's Delirium!

Looking Back

The Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS is asking us to look back at all 2011 WT challenges and combine as many as we can on a card. I used 7 challenges: WT357-Stuck on Me (rhinestone sticker), WT354-Digi Day, WT346-Leaves, WT344-Pink, Pink, Pink, WT319-Oval-icious, WT318 Hey PEOPLE, WT316-FLOWER Power. My sweet little digi image is from By Lori Designs and was colored with Copics.

This card is also being entered into Jen's Sketch for You to Try challenge for January.

I found a delightful and positive book recently - "It's All in How You Look At It" -  and decided I'd share blurbs from the book in my blog posts from time to time.  Blurb for today...
Optimism: A cheerful frame of mind that enables a tea kettle to sing though it's in hot water up to its nose.
So today finds me singing in the clouds and rain...how about you?

It's a Banner Year!

Raise the Bar is BAAACKK!! And..we are so happy to have By Lori Designs as our sponsor this week! I had so much fun coloring this new digi called Lollipop Saylor! Isn't she just the cutest? We are also asking that you include some kind of banner element on your card, so I used some Die-Namics to create this star-studded banner. I sponged So Saffron ink around the image while the CS was still in the Labels Twenty One Nestie. I colored with Copics and added some sparkle to the star on her jumper using a Sakura Clear Star gelly roll pen.

For more inspiration, be sure to check out the creations by the rest of the bar tenders:
Joni, Thanh, Julie (will resume her design samples next week)

Here's what I used...

INK: Island Indigo
ACCESSORIES: Small star punch by SU, Banner Die-Namics (MFT), Baker's twine, Dimensional stickers, Tiny tags die by PTI, Brad, Labels Twenty One Nestie, Large scallop Die-Namic (MFT).
