Tic Tac Toe Challenge

It's a lazy Friday after being ultra busy on Thanksgiving day. Only got into the 30's today and I hibernated where it was warm and got crafty after watering plants and rearranging some Christmas decorations. I played along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I used the left vertical row of embellishment, gold and navy. This alcohol ink background has been in my leftover pile for a long time, so decided I'd make it work for this challenge.

I die cut 3 different snowflakes then stamped the sentiment with Enchanted Evening (PTI) ink and added a button w/white thread.

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Warmth (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Enchanted Evening (PTI); Alcohol inks.
PAPER: Yupo; Mirror Gold; Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select Whte (PTI).
DIES: Layered Snowflakes: Drift, Crystal, Flurries (PTI); Stitched Rectangle and Banner Flags STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Button (PTI); White thread.

Just Us Girls Challenge

It's mood board week at Just Us Girls. I was inspired by the rustic star in the photo, so went with Papertrey Ink's Rustic Wood Star die set. I cut all the elements from white paper then color blended with dye inks. No stamps were used.
PAPER: Scrapbook Paper 6x6 (Horizon); Stamper's Select White (PTI); Gold.
INK: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Pinefeather, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Honey Nut, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate (PTI).
DIES: Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals, Border Bling: Joy Frame, Rustic Wood Star (Papertrey Ink).

The corners were rounded with a "chomper" tool to soften the look.

That's all for now. Have a great day!  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Good Saturday morning! Finished this card last PM for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Layered snowflake dies create the smaller circular element and the simple sentiment was die cut twice and popped up with foam tape for added dimension.

INK: Evergreen Bough distress ink (Ranger).
PAPER: Shimmer White; Blue Christmas 6x6 pad by Recollections; Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink).

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome to another Word Art Wednesday challenge! This one focuses on I Thessalonians 5:16-17 and is sponsored by Seth Apter Designs. They are giving away a $25 gift card, so be sure to play along for a chance to win! Seth Apter is a mixed media artist, instructor and designer so I wanted my card to include some mixed media elements.

I printed the verse after reducing it to 65% of the size. I then used a Ripped Banner die to cut the sentiment and a Love to Layer: Torn Edges die to cut the base layer. Edges were sponged with Brushed Corduroy distress ink. It's not real noticeable, but I stenciled a tea stain look on the base torn edges layer. I used a crimped frame and added some light modeling paste to the frame. A banner of frayed burlap and some jute twine and button were added elements of texture. A sweet little bird and some floral accents finished it up.

STAMPS: Feathered Friends Mini 4 (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold, Fine Linen, Dark Chocolate, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Limeade Ice, New Leaf (PTI); Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy distress (Ranger).
PAPER: Vintage Cream (PTI).
DIES: Feathered Friends Mini 4, Into the Blooms: Wreath, Into the Blooms: Clover, Ripped Banners, Love to Layer: Torn Edges (PTI).
OTHER: Watercolor Wonderful Stencil Collection (PTI); Burlap; Jute twine; Button; Crimped frame; Liquidex light modeling paste.

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge and hopefully you will be a blessed winner!  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Hello friends! I created another Christmas card using the new layout for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I already had the hot foil background in my leftover stash, so this was a quick creation!

INK: Enchanted Evening (PTI).
PAPER: Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select White (PTI).

Freshly Made Sketches

There is an awesome new sketch by Michele for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and it was perfect to play with some fall leaves!  I started by gold embossing the veins of the leaves then I color blended by using a variety of distress inks and lightly misting the inked stamps before applying to the Bristol Smooth Surface paper.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum using Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink then embossed with clear powder. I created a belly band over the card front.

STAMPS: Pastor Appreciation Scripture (Stamp Simply); Leave It To Me (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive distress (Ranger).
PAPER: Simply Chartreuse, Vellum (Papertrey Ink); Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Leave It To Me (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Yellow gold paint (Gansai Tambi Starry Colors); Clear and gold embossing powders.

This will be put aside to use for Pastor Appreciation Sunday in October. Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

Good Friday friends! I made my first fall card for this season and am joining in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The background is some very old mulberry type of paper that has faint pressed leaves over it. I then used a clear embossing paste to add more texture. The pumpkin was already assembled in my leftover pile so I just added a sentiment and it was quickly done!

STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Happy Fall (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, New Leaf (PTI).
PAPER: Mulberry paper; Bitty Big: Orange Zest, Classic Kraft (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Pumpkins (PTI); Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

Just Add Ink

Good Saturday everyone! I needed to add a sympathy card to my stash so when I saw the colors for the Just Add Ink challenge, I went with it. The Lost Lagoon color had me baffled (I no longer have SU inks) so I went with Evergreen Bough distress ink and paired it with two other similar bluish green inks from Pinkfresh Studio.

This Wild Blooms stencil (Papertrey Ink) is another favorite for me. The six layers are very easy to match up so it's a quick and easy way to create a striking background!

STAMPS: Perfect Pairs Commodities (PTI).
INK: Evergreen Bough distress; Wisteria, Hydrangea, Eucalyptus, Evergreen (Pinkfresh Studio); Harvest Gold (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Perfect Pairs Commodities (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Wild Blooms stencil collection (PTI).

Freshly Made Sketches

My second post for the day includes a card for the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It's a special milestone as they are celebrating their 700th sketch! That's fourteen years of sketches! A big  congratulations for this great feat! This layout is a  square design so I went to my leftover pile where the beginning of this card has been patiently waiting to be completed. I've had it so long that I don't recall what shade of blue I used.  :-(

I layered two sizes of Layered Snowflakes: Drift die set and added a  large embellishment to top it off! A Christmas or winter sentiment will be added to the inside.

STAMPS: None.
INK: None.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (PTI); Metallic silver; Unknown blue source.
DIES: Cornered: Snowflakes, Layered Snowflakes: Drift (PTI).
OTHER: Pearl embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda
