Raise the Bar is Back!

Our summer break is over and the bartenders are back with our weekly Raise the Bar challenges! Joni, our fearless leader, has lined up some awesome sponsors each month, so check us out HERE and play along...you just might be a winner!  Our theme for this first Friday of the month is "Celebrate Fall"!  Candy corn is one of those seasonal candies that appear on shelves in the fall, and I couldn't resist this adorable image called Timmy Candy Corn from The Greeting Farm - our sponsor for this challenge!

My Silhouette Cameo came to the rescue with this candy corn card cut file.  I used 3 different CS colors: White, Pumpkin Pie and YoYo Yellow and then hand cut the sections.

STAMPS: Sentiment Sampler by Paper Smooches
COPICS: W00, W1, W3, W5, YR15, YR16, YR18, Y13, Y15, R00, R01, R02, C00.

Be sure and check out the other bartenders' creations!

Celebrating 100 Challenges at RTB!

Welcome and happy Friday to all! Joni Wilson, the head bartender on the Raise the Bar challenge blog, is marking her 100th challenge today!  Woohoo!  We are celebrating with a sketch by yours truly (the layout is supposed to look like the number 100) and there are prizes with this challenge as well!  We are being sponsored by The Greeting Farm and they have some really fabulous images - both digital and rubber - waiting for you to get those inky fingers in gear!

I just love this little bride and groom image...printed with a Canon inkjet printer on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.  The finished card is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".  DP is from the "Be Happy" pad by MME's Follow Your Heart collection.  Pink clay seam binding is by Martha Stewart.  Love sentiment is from Verve's Bright Spirits set.

I'm also entering this card into the CCEE challenge to use 3 embellishments (lace, ribbon, pearl brad).

Thanks for stopping by...we look forward to seeing what you create using this celebration sketch!

COPICS USED:
Groom's hair - Y21, E47, E97, E99
Bride's hair - E47, E49, E97, E99
Skin - E21, E00, E000
Her dress - C00, BG000, BG0000

Good Friday!

It's Good Friday and a good Friday as well! I thought this cartoon summed up really well what this day represents to me...
Looking forward to being off this Easter w/e...my first in many years! Our son and DIL will be visiting from out of town and hopefully our daughter and middle son will be able to join us as well for a cookout on Sunday.

Moving on to my card for today...

It's time for another Raise the Bar Challenge and Joni wanted us to go with a cutesy spring theme, so this Ducky Rain digital image from The Greeting Farm was just perfect!  I printed it on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.  This CS is the smoothest and best for Copics out of several brands that I've tried.  DP is from the Splash 6x6 pad from Echo Park.  I love these flag dies by 'Lil Inker Designs and find myself going back to them time and time again.  The sentiment is from MFT's My Basket of Eggs PI set.  Hop on over to the Raise the Bar blog to see what the other designers have created to inspire you with this theme!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a blessed Easter!
