NEW Misa High Society Collection 2012 - Bourbon on the Rocks

Afternoon all,

Autumn is most definitely here, not that Summer was about much! One thing I love is Autumn/Winter polish collections. The rich warm earthy shades are my favourite. On my trip to Olympia Beauty couple of weeks back I picked up a few polishes. This one caught my eye in the Misa stand. I didn't realise it was part of Misa's new High Society Winter Collection. I wanted to kick myself that I didn't check any of the others out. This is Bourbon on the Rocks.

 Shade

This is two coats of Bourbon on the Rocks. A dark red orange shimmer. Reminds me of leather, dark antique red wood and tobacco. Very rich and warm. Application was flawless. I think I've found my Autumn staple. I think the High Society Collection is out now and available. Amazon UK has the collection but I think you might be able to find it a bit cheaper elsewhere.

What do you guys think?

H&M - Chica Boom Boom

Morning peoples,

I found this little number lurking in the cupboard. I had no idea I bought it? Obviously I must have, although its kinda scary that I'm not even remembering what I buy anymore! This is H&M's Chica Boom Boom.

This is three coats of Chica Boom Boom. A bright orange which smacks you in the face 'Tango stylee'. It's a very deep orange, almost cherry red. Not at all the right colour for my skin tone (like that's going to stop me). This looks very bright in real life, my old battered camera doesn't do this one justice. Formula was a little thin and watery, but I sure it will thicken up as I use it more. Whilst I have no recollection of buying this one, I'm sure glad I did.

Have you ever purchased products without any conscious knowledge of the event?

Hidden Shimmer Pt3...Accessorize - Nevada

Hello Everyone,

Enjoying the Olympics? The opening ceremony I must admit surpassed my expectations. Thought it was rather spectacular. Living in London I was a bit underwhelmed with the whole thing, however now it's here I'm quite looking forward to the events. Today I have the third polish which I picked up from Accessorize - Nevada. You can see the other swatches of Utah here and Colorado here.

This is two coats of Nevada. A terracotta orange with copper shimmer. This was the one I was most looking forward to, although I think Colorado pipped this to the post. Still a lovely colour and unusual in comparison to the available shades from other brands here in the UK. Accessorize have done wonderfully with these I think.

Available from Superdrugs and Accessorize.

What do you think? Which is your favourite?

Gabrini - 351

Hello Everyone!!

It feels like a century since my last post. I've so missed you all! Well, all my essays have been handed in, after two weeks of blood sweat and tears. All done now, which is great as I can now concentrate on posting more.

Today I have a Gabrini polish I picked up a while back, not a massively well known brand here in the UK. I picked this up from a Asian hair and beauty supply near me. I did have another Gabrini polish in my possession, but for the life of me I have no idea where it has gone??

This is 3 coats of 351. A squishy orange polish with golden shimmer. Loved this one on, applied really smoothly which makes me think its not 3 free. Smells pretty ghastly too, but it looks ever so pretty. I think this is a brand originally from Turkey. I'm going to hunt down my missing bottle.

Enjoy

L.A Colors - Apricot

Hello Everyone

Hope your all having a restful weekend. Today I have a 99p purchase for you, L.A Colors Nail Lacquer - Apricot.

Natural Light

Flash

This is 3 coats of Apricot. Formula was really nice on this, although slightly sheer. Apricot is a peachy/apricot polish containing iridescent shimmer. It's quite a pretty shade and I think bang on trend for Spring/Summer 2012. The shimmer gives it a softness, making it a more muted shade of orange. Purchased this one from Beauty Base in Westfields Stratford.

Anyone tried this shade?

W7- Metallic Mars

Hello Everyone!

Finally, I've got some swatches done! About blooming time. Today I have for you Metallic Mars from the new W7 Metallic collection I showed you a couple of days back. Metallic Mars is a Pink/Purple/Orange/Gold duochrome polish.

Reminds me a lot of Nubar - Iris Dust. Might try and get a comparison done, although I think Iris Dust has more of a brown tone. This is three coats, could of done with a 4th as it's very sheer. Really stinky formula, so guessing it isn't Big 3 free. Drying time was good and I ended up with a lovely glossy finish. A really strong colour shift in this one.

BUT I didn't like it on :-( I'm not a big fan of Iris Dust either, I don't know why? For me it's just a bit too sickly, not tacky, just a bit too much pink for my taste.  Price £1.99 available at Savers.

So first one down. What do you guys think?

Who am I? A polish identity crisis

Hello Everyone

Today I have a mystery, a Misa nail polish which I picked up in my local nail shop. Problem is, it has no label. I have no idea what shade this is. Moody Model? but I'm not sure? It looks a lot different to the Moody Model pics on the Internet. Moody Model is described as a melted milk chocolate creme, this is more like a rusty tan. This is also older Misa, as the bottle label is white.

Can you Help this little guy out and give it an identity?

No matter the name, It was a lovely polish to wear and a gorgeous colour. The formula was good and applied like butter. This was 2 coats.

Let me know if you have any ideas! Hopefully one of you polish connoisseurs will have an idea...as it's bugging the crap out of me :-)

Thanks

Pumpkin Spectraflair Franken Attempt

Afternoon All

Hope your all having a wonderful fabulous amazing weekend! Today I have for you that Pumpkin holo fraken attempt I did for Halloween. Erm not sure if its a success or not? I like the colour and I think its not a bad attempt at all but it's nothing like a pumpkin lol. More like a Squash. I couldn't tell you the exact recipe for this, I threw in anything and everything in this one. I was going for more of the outside of a pumpkin, the hide or rusk or whatever the name for it.

Okay so I have this Orange Rusty Rose colour...more like a Peach maybe? Different I suppose :-) Anyhoo it is what it is. Name for this? Couldn't think of one. None at all. My creative energies have deserted me completely. As I can't give you a recipe but I can tell you some of the polishes I used:

China Glaze - Life Preserver
Topshop - Country Bumpkin
Rimmel - Tangerine Queen
2true - Orange Metallic (not sure what shade sorry!)
Rest Clear polish and 3 scoops spectraflair

Enjoy the rest of you day and weekend peeps!

NOTD - Topshop Country Bumpkin

Well hello there!

Another Monday, another week. Excited about September as I have a few things planned for this month including attending Olympia Beauty. Today I have for you the new shade which I purchased from Topshop - Country Bumpkin. I was after this soon as I saw it online. A lovely dusty orange pumpkin colour with a hint of rose. Country Bumpkin is the perfect name for this polish!

This was 2 coats could of done with 3, had a few problems with application as it was quite runny. No topcoat as I've completely run out now. Drying time wasn't bad either. Topshop is becoming one of my favourite polish haunts now, every time I pop in there I want one of their shades!

Will any of you be attending Olympia Beauty this year? I'm looking forward to the Sparitual and OPI stand, I already have the floor plan of where to find them :-)
