Mask Parade Linda Rupard

This is a found painting that I could see in the paint I had randomly put on my canvas
after colors were left on palette from a day of painting.  Gallery wrapped canvas matching sides 10 X 10.

Medicine Man

On Yupo paper I used stencils, (all found items) & poured color over the paper. Then with
Negative painting I brought out some of the features of the figure. Wonder if I need more negative painting to define figure more.

"Time Is A Circus"

"Time Is A Circus" Collage by Leada Wood
(C) 2010 All Rights Reserved
My dad was a clock maker and a jewelry store man. I used clock keys for the little man image and a clock face collaged onto the canvas, I painted various clock hands onto the canvas. and an antique pocket watch. My mon collected elephants so that represents her and the monkey on her back is me. There are also various clock parts interspersed into the painting. The monkey on the clock hand is represented by my brother. The writing says "Time is like a circus... always packing up and moving away" Isn't that the way time is... always moving on? Can you believe we are almost celebrating another new year? 2011 doesn't that sound so futuristic? And yet it is here...HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! Wishing you all the best for the coming new year, and health and happiness!

"Dreams Of Mine"

"Dreams Of Mine" by Leada Wood (c)2010 Mixed Media Collage
All Rights Reserved

I created this for the Caboose Watercolor Society's Christmas party. We always have an art exchange and this year I decided to do my art on the cover of a sketch book so that my friend can enjoy it all year long! I also included some grey scale markers to make sketching a little easier. I hope she likes it!

Rising Sun

Rising Suns by Leada Wood (c) 2010 All Rights Reserved
Here is one of my 5X7 paintings that is in the traveling 5x7 Show. The show started at the Jones Art House in Austin and will have an opening in Dallas, Tx. August 27th at the Dunn and Brown Contemporary Gallery.  It is a mixed media collage with hand painted papers on mat board with watercolors. It is quiet a challenge making a collage in such a small space, but I always enjoy a challenge!

Interdimension

This is the second painting I did in the Walton Workshop. It is 22X28 and is latex on paper.  I first painted on wet paper with white latex with my fingers and then took a piece of jewelry and drew a design, after it was dry. Next I squirt texted with 5 colors drawn at random.  Finally I tucked and added more color to complete the painting. Red,White and Blue

This is a 22X28 latex on paper done in the Walton Workshop.  It was done wet in wet by squirting the paint on the paper and then developing it. Very fun process helping you to loosen up and paint free.  I left all the underpainting showing and kept my whites.
I think it may be upside down but who knew!  This was Monday. All Rights Reserved by Leada Wood (c) 2010

"COSMIC ENERGY'

This is another one of my collages going to Kerrville Art Center.  It is 9x11, watercolor on Arches paper.  I painted different kinds of thin papers and stamped on them with my hand made stamps, added texture here and there, layered the papers and added the Japanese symbol for energy. I then used some objects I had in my treasure trove and embelished  it until it made me smile!
