Coach Diaper Bag Cake for Baby Shower

A suprise cake for a pregnant mum and Coach bag fan!

We made a yellow vanilla cake with Belgian chocolate cream covered in pink fondant and with light green trims. The cake was carved in the form of a Coach diaper bag, with a baby bottle. The pink logos were carefully painted one by one using a series of hand cut templates and a food color spray gun.

We added a building block, pacifier and rattle sculpted with sugar paste placed on the cake board. The cake was delivered to a baby shower at Roma restaurant in North Arlington NJ.

Gold Leaf Fourtieth Birthday Cake

A delicious two tier white vanilla cake and chocolate genoise with alternating layers, and with Cannoli cream filling. I like the way these cakes look when you cut them with their multi-colored layers.

Light pink fondant covers the cake, which I then decorated with hand painted gold leaves and flowers, gold fondant beads circling each tier, plus a monogram I piped on top. The cake was delivered to a 40th birthday party in Warren NJ.

Strawberry Shortcake and Building Blocks Cake

I modeled the character Strawberry Shortcake out of fondant and she sits on top of a set of building blocks. Each of the blocks is made with pure white vanilla cake with a strawberry cream filling and covered in a light pink fondant. Letters and animal shapes adorn the blocks, which we made for a baby shower.

I think this character turned out better than any I have done so far. I paid special attention to capturing the right facial expression, gave her freckles and added some rouge to give her cheeks the right complexion. The strawberries on the hat are hand painted. You can see this detail in the close up.

Juicy Couture Handbag Cake

This Juicy Couture handbag cake was created for a Sweet Sixteen party at the Regency House Hotel in Pompton Plains NJ.

The handbag is made with walnut almond cake and homemade dulce de leche buttercream. It is covered in a pink fondant and decorated with pink and chocolate fondant bows and assorted hanging charms, plus a personalized key chain.

The bag is placed on a quilted pink cushion made with red velvet cake and white chocolate ganache filling. A trim surrounds the cushion and has pink fondant tassles at each corner.
