Scrapbook Circle | Planner Addict

Have you all jumped on the planner craze yet?  I bought this awesome Hello Beautiful planner month's ago, and up until now I haven't done much with it.  My assignment at Scrapbook Circle this month encouraged me to jump in and get planning!  I used their July You Are My Favorite Kit and added a few pieces from the add-ons.

I love the bits and pieces included in this month's July You Are My Favorite Kit and Add-on's, they are perfect for adding simple touches to my planner.

On my calendar page for the month, I write out ahead of time, things that we have scheduled, and then as things come up and we do them, I add them to the calendar.  Bits and pieces from the main kit (July You Are My Favorite) and the July Let's Do It add-on and That Was Fun Add-on helped me to really make my pages stand out.

I hung Crate paper confetti Tassels from the binder rings on my pages.  I used a fine tip pen and Jillibean Soup Mini Alphabet stickers (included in That Was Fun Add-On) to document our plans.

The washi tape and wood veneer shapes (included in the That Was Fun Add-On) helped
bring life to my pages.

I also used a lot of the Confetti Ephemera pieces through out my planner and tucked them in here and there using pockets and paper clips (not included in kits).  My planner is now set, and ready to document lots of memories!

Scrapbook Circle | Take 2

Hi everyone, For this month's Take 2 post at Scrapbook Circle, I was challenged to take a previous layout from a past kit and re-do it.  For my post this month I decided to re-do this layout by the awesome Audrey Yeager.  When I first saw this layout, I was so intrigued by the overlapped design.

I kept the overall design the same.  I used my July You Are My Favorite kit to recreate my own design.  I used a triangle punch, and layered the pieces along my page.  I loved the light and blue background with brown that Audrey used in her original page.  I worked the light blue and white background onto my page by using the Jubilee paper by Crate paper.  I trimmed a strip of patterned paper and adhered it to the top of my page.

I incorporated the brown from the original design by adding the cork word "today" (included in the main kit).  To embellish my page I used a tassel from the That Was Fun Add-on, and wood veneer pieces.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the Take 2 challenge.  If you create a layout using one of the Scrapbook Circle kits, we would love for you to share it with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page!

Heart Confetti mini album

Hi,

Good morning.  Today and I am going to show you how to make this simple heart confetti pocket mini album using the January Love Potion #9 Scrapbook kit, from the Paper Bakery.

GinaLideros_youandmealbum

Gather up any left over scraps that you may have from your January Love Potion #9 Scrapbook kit, ephemera pieces, small confetti type punches, sequins and transparency paper (vellum paper works great for this too)!

GinaLideros_1

Using your punches make confetti out of left over scraps that you have from your kit.

GinaLideros_2

Open up the Paper Bakery January cut file in your Silhouette software program.

I decided that I wanted to make my book using the heart file that is included in the cut file.  Delete all other shapes and enlarge the heart.  Using the cut tool remove the inside of the heart.

Duplicate the heart shape and run it through your Silhouette.  I cut my pockets out of transparency paper but you can use vellum for this too.

Place the two pieces together and use a sewing machine to stitch up the sides.  Leave an open space towards the top to drop in your confetti and sequins.

After filling your heart shapes up with confetti and sequins,  use your sewing machine to stitch the of the heart up.

Using a hole punch, punch through your heart page and add a jump ring.  Add additional pages and ephemera pages to complete your album.

Merry Christmas card

Hi friends,
Hope that you are having a good start to your week.  I wanted to pop in and share a quick card that I made recently using papers and embellishments from October Afternoon

I cut the house with my Silhouette Cameo and then made a pocket out of vellum and filled it with lots of punched shapes and sequins.  So simple and I love the soft look that it gives this card!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

Beach Fun

Hi everyone,

Wow, I just realized that it has been over a week since I have blogged.  We have been busy with the kids starting back to school and getting back into a routine, etc.  I have a fun layout to share with you today.  A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  We played on the beach all day and then walked along the boardwalk and rode the rides in the evening.  Here is a quick layout that I made using one of our pictures from the beach.

Beach Fun Layout

I am loving the confetti, sequins and vellum trend.  This layout came together quickly after I decided to cut strips of vellum and sew them up as pockets.

Papers and embellishments are from Crate's "The Pier" collection.  They were perfect for my beach themed layout and made this layout come together quickly.
Thanks for stopping by today, I will be back tomorrow with a new layout for Bella Blvd using their new CHA Snapshots line (love)!

Hello There, and lots of confetti.....

I recently picked up a pack of transparencies for a great deal on eBay. 100 for $1.98 plus free shipping. What the what??? Hold the phone! That is unheard of and to great of a deal for me to pass up (they sell transparency sheets at my local office supply store for a $1 each). So I snagged them up and couldn't wait to get started playing with them. Since confetti is such a big craze and has taken over the scrapbooking world, I decided it would be fun to make a tag album out of transparencies and fill them full of confetti.

Hello There Mini Tag Book

I started off making my mini tag album by using my Silhouette Cameo to cut 8 tags out of transparency paper. Then I started punching confetti. This is the fun part and somewhat time consuming. I used the Swiss Cheese border punch by EK Success to make most of my confetti.
I also cut a few larger confetti circles with my Silhouette Cameo.

I used papers and embellishments from the Ready Set Go collection from Amy Tangerine.

This 6x6 paper pad was perfect for this project!

I started putting together my tag pages by putting two cut transparency tags together, sandwiching in some confetti, then sewing them closed around the edges using my sewing machine. This was the tricky part and lots of confetti kept slipping few.

I found that it was easiest to sew each tag page 75% closed then funnel in the confetti before sewing it completely shut.

This tag book came together so quickly after that. I just added a few small pictures and embellishments.

Oh, I almost forgot, I added in some sequins too. Because you just gotta have sparkle!

To finish it off, I used a jump ring and some cute yellow jute from American Crafts.

So fun and easy! I hope you make one too!

Playing with confetti...

Hi friends!  I have a fun layout to share today.  Lately the confetti craze has been taking over the scrapbooking world.  I recently picked up a pack of transparencies for a bargain on ebay and thought that it would be fun to make a giant slide filled with confetti.

I cut the slide with my Silhouette cameo and then backed it with two sheets of transparency paper and sandwiched a whole lot of confetti in between and then glued the ends shut. I didn't bother to
glue the confetti in place. It moves along with the layout which I think is pretty fun.
