Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Started with a sponged gradient using Color Club Holy Chic!, Island Vibes and Puccini-licious.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top. (I had a little bit of polish flick onto the nail on the middle when taking off the latex, so annoying!  I made sure to put part of the stamped image on it.)

Stamped using BM-317 with accent nail of Lina All About Love-02 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Have a wonderful Valentine's no matter what you do!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Love!

It's Friday and that means 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge (and somehow I forgot about last weeks challenge so sorry about that; not that anyone missed it, I'm sure!)  This weeks theme is love!  I know this doesn't seem very much about love and I do have a more lovey dovey mani planned but was going to save it for Valentine's Day, but hearts are an expression of love so I'm going with it!  And I love this mani, so there, it's theme appropriate anyway lol!

I am so into flakies right now so love everything about this one I recently got in a blog sale; Ever After Falling.  Unfortunately, I didn't realize how sheer it was until after I already applied to the nail so this is three coats of Ever After Falling, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits Clearly on Top QD TC before stamping.

I did something a little different on my Cindy hand because I'm just not a fan of every having to apply three coats of anything.  This is one coat of piCture pOlish Beige with one coat of Ever After Falling then top coated..  I actually prefer this look and I'm sure it will show up on my nails at some time!

Stamped using an image from Bundle Monster BM-317 using Mdu 43.  I picked this image for the sole reason that there is lots of area to let the base shine through! Love, Love, Love!

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.  This isn't the most flattering pix I have but its good to see the shimmer.

The finished look on my right hand.  So loving this slighter lighter look!

Here's the other ladies mani's; I hope you LOVE them!

Another Valentine's Day Mani

When I'm doing holiday mani's, I try to do at least one that is a little outside of the box to mix things up a little. Mainly it's because I can only wear so much pink or red over just a few days when doing Valentine's nails for example, or green, red and white at Christmas time.  So this is my untraditional Valentine's Day nails for this year!   This is my favourite Valentine's Day mani this year...well, so far, anyway!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Cement The Deal with an accent of two coats of Darling Diva The Alchemist; this is with no top coat.

Layered one thin coat of El Corazon Confetti n520A on the index, middle and pinky, and one fairy liberal coat of Sonoma Nail Art Sonoma County Gazettle on the thumb as well as some glitter placement with the brush to fill in bare spots.

Added a coat of KBSimmer Clearly on Top on on index and on the thumb, which also got a coat of Gelous to help smooth out any stray glitters.   I love this on so many levels!  Loving the El Corazon; loving the glitter mix on the thumb and loving the awesome glow just glaring on the ring finger.

As much as loved this, there aren't too many mani's that don't see stamping. Added assortment of images from plates Pueen 41 (index), Bundle Monster BM411 (middle), BundleMonster BM317 (ring) and Wistonia Wedding Bliss (pinky) using Funky Fingers Gesso, Black Knight and Mundo de Unas #9.

While I really liked the look of the matte, I have a tendency to tc everything when out and about, so added a layer of top coat to finish.

BundleMonster BM411

All in all, I was thrilled how this turned out!  I was so happy that the red glitters in Sonoma Country Gazette matched Darling Diva The Alchemist so well!  Adore the pop of white on the red holo too!

When I finished this and got to looking at it, I thought I should have fished out the bar glitters on the thumb and made little x's to match the middle....or is that taking it too far lol?  Maybe next time!

Hope you're having a good weekend.....and if you're in the GTA, be safe in our stormy weather conditions....thanks for looking

Valentine's Day Mani

Quickly before I forget, a winner has been chosen for the CNF giveaway posted here!  The email has gone out and the winner has 48 hours to respond...so if you entered, please check your email!  Thanks!

Is it too early for a Valentine's Day mani?  I hope not because I have quite a few to share already and with World Cancer Day, Groundhog Day, Olympics, Chinese New Year and the Super Bowl all happening between now and February 14th, I'll be doing well to get the ones I already have posted before February 14.....not to mention any new ones I put on my nails between now and then! So this is the first of a few that will be shown over the next few weeks!

Started with a base of two coats of Kiko Sugar Mat 452 on all fingers except accent which is WingDust Collections Muskoka Sunset, which I think accents the hot pink Kiko nicely with the hot pink glitter in it!  I have to thank a very generous nail friend overseas for this awesome Kiko polish which was received as part of a group Christmas Secret Santa exchange.

Closer look at Kiko Sugar Mat 452.  There is golden shimmer in there too but it wasn't that obvious until the polish was top coated but you can somewhat see the sparkle in the bottle.

Stamped with an assortment of plates using white Konad special polish; BM-317 (index), DRK-A (thumb and middle), and MJ (no number; one of the original MJ plates; pinky).

Topped with SV to finish (the golden shimmer in the Kiko is more obvious once top coated as you can see below).

While I was liking how this turned out, I thought the ring finger needed some stamping, so added an image from Chez Divers 001 on accent and topped with SV to finish....really this time!

Hope you are having a great week...and thanks for looking!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Mani

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; as a woman as well as someone who has been involved with a close family member dealing with breast cancer over the last year, I would be remiss in not doing at least one mani in support of the awareness cause; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of piCture poLish Electric Dream; this pix has no topcoat.  For those who like a shiny finish, it would need topcoat as it does dry on the matte side.  I didn't topcoat as I knew I was doing some layering.  Still stunning, though!  (I also love how this polish perfectly compliments my blog wallpaper!)

My original plan for the mani was a funky french tip with the Bundle Monster ribbon at the tips using BM-324, so added FingerPaints Frosty Night at the tips.

Topped with a little Quo By Orly Spirit.

But I decided to do some different stamp designs so only used the tip image from BM324 on the thumb and did it midway for something out of the ordinary...for me any way!  Other images used were from plates BM317 (middle), BM303 (index) and BM321 on ring.  For the pinky, images from BM317 and BM303 were isolated and separately stamped; all using white Konad special polish.  (I have no idea what I was thinking putting those lips on my ring finger lol!)

Topped with SV to finish.

Just before I took the mani off, I put a layer of Essie Matte About You.

A couple days after I did this mani, my husband surprised me with the OPI Pink of Hearts 2013 duo that he had picked up at a breast cancer awareness fundraiser which was a nice surprise as never buys me polishes! Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in another mani using them before the end of the month!
