Thinking of You at Die Cuttin' Divas ~ It's an Embossing Challenge

Hello Everyone!
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
Embossing ~
~ Dry or Heat ~

Here is my Design Team project...
I wanted to have both types of embossing on my project today, so I had to think of how to incorporate dry and heat. It did not take long to decide and come up with an idea. I also knew I wanted to use my oxide inks with white embossing powder since they always looks great together. The key would be to find the right stamp.

The flower is an oldie by Inkadinkadoo. I prefer to use my older stamps with VersaMark ink just in case there is any residue.  I heat embossed the flower on white cardstock with white embossing powder. Then I used three shades of Tim Holtz oxides: fossilized amber, spiced marmalade, and abandoned coral to add some color.

The yellow card stock was first cut with the stitched rectangle using my Cuttlebug (C plate) and then the circle was cut out from the center. Lastly, the cardstock was placed in the the swiss dots embossing folder and it went through the Cuttlebug (B plate) creating raised dots.

The stamped sentiment (included with a magazine subscription) was heat embossed on vellum. As long as you move the heat gun back and forth, the vellum will not warp.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Embossing" challenge. Our sponsor this week is Leslie from our very our DCD Design Team and it is a CTMH stamp set.

Dare 2B Artzy Guest Designer ~ Day 2

 Hello Everyone,
I am thrilled that I am Guest Designer at Dare 2B Artzy again. Be sure to stop by their blog and then head to the shop, so you can add a few of their products to your stash.

Today's Guest Designer Project...
Since I used a butterfly last week, I decided to choose a flower from the Wishing Happiness stamp set for this project.

First, I stamped the flower with Versafine Onyx Black ink on heavy white cardstock and then I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the lines.  After tapping off the excess powder, I heat embossed the image. I used Chameleon markers to color the flower in shades of pink and purples. I cut out a MFT scalloped frame in purple polka dot paper and adhered it onto a rectangular piece of pink paper.

The stamped sentiment is from the same stamp set ~ Wishing Happiness and it is also heat embossed. Pink and purple sequins were scattered on opposites sides of the flower in groups of three. Lastly, mini purple pearls were added to the center of the flower and in the middle of each sequin.

This card should bring a smile to someone's face since happiness is being wished upon them.
Thank you again Cindy and Kendra for allowing me to be Guest Designer this month. Looking forward to another project next  week.

Georgiana

More Wedding Cookies for the Newlyweds

Hello Crafty Friends,
Welcome back to Carson's Creations!

Today I am sharing some yummy wedding treats from If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. It is week two of the challenge and you just need to create a project using the photo as inspiration. There are two different prizes available this week...one from Elisabeth Bell and another from The Cutting Cafe. Last week I used a file provided by Regina at The Cutting Cafe (click here to see).

Here is my Design Team project...
I have seen numerous bride and groom heart projects, so I searched for quite some time for a svg file but was unsuccessful. I decided to create my own.

I used the following sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches...

I used my Cameo to cut the scallop and regular hearts. I layered and trimmed the pieces to create the bride and groom outfits. I chose cream, pink, and kraft to match the colors of the cookies in the photo. Small pearls were added as buttons. The stamped sentiment on the center pink heart is by My Craft Spot.
I used a MFT stitched rectangle die for the bottom layer. I ran the two cream pieces of card stock through the Cuttlebug in a Swirl embossing folder. The "Congratulations" stamped sentiment is by JustRite stamps.
Other Challenges:
Crafty Creations ~ Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge ~ H for Hearts
Everybody Art Ch ~ Lace or Pearls
Through the Craft Room Door ~ Anything Goes
Crafting From the Heart ~ Anything Goes

Hope you will join us at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie this week for our "Photo Inspirationchallenge. The other design team members all interpreted the picture differently, so go check it out!

If you like what you see, please become a follower. Leave me your blog name and I will stop by to see what you have been making!

Camp Create Day 5 Bonus: Dry Embossing

Happy Father's Day!
We just returned from having lunch at Cody's for Father's Day not to long ago and everyone is now full and content. Hubby is watching US Open and Kels is resting her knee. Her surgery went well and she is recovering nicely. Her follow-up appointment is next week, so we continue to ice and do simple leg lifts until then. I am in my craft room getting ready to create something new. Trying to decide if I should l pull out my watercolors or Colorbursts. Hmmm?  I may even check out the challenges at Paper Playful to see what has been posted the past couple of days.

The other day I participated in Camp Create Day 5 ~ Divine Dry Embossing, but I have had trouble getting a good picture. I tried late at night, then in the middle of yesterday, and finally this morning. Unfortuantely, this is it. I am not sure if the embossing is deep enough, but the first couple of times I added a paper shim and it cut the paper. Then I tried without (maybe I need to try a new embossing pad since that was the only piece I did not trade out). I used the MFT stitched oval scallop edge frame and the eiffel tower dies.

The Jaded Blossom stamped sentiment was cut with a MFT fishtail flag and those are slate colored skittle by Doubleclick in the upper left corner. The cardstock is MFT Steel Grey and the polka dot vellum was a find in the Walmart clearance section.

Here is the Day 5 Bonus Badge.

I may try again to see if I can get the impression to my satisfaction, but I am glad I at least made an attempt. I hope MFT does some additional Camp Days later this summer like they hinted. Learning something new is always fun.

A Chocolate Treat for a Chocoholic

Hello Everyone,

Happy Christmas Eve! Hard to believe there is only one day until Christmas Day. The time sure did fly by this year just as the day did. I made this card earlier, but started watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel and lost track of time. Those movies sure do keep you entranced. I think it's because they always have happy endings.

I used the following photo from Cupcake Inspirations to help choose the colors and  my die-cut and I used the  Stella Says Sketch for the layout.

The Valentine cupcake is from Miss Kate Cuttables. The background mat was embossed with a chevron folder and then flattened. I wanted a clean and simple look, but not too much texture. When there are too many bumps the paper doesn't seem to lay nicely.

The stamped sentiment is from Jaded Blossom ~ Chocoholic set. What a delicious set of fun sayings for anyone who LOVES chocolate (that is ME). I used Ranger Archival Ink ~ Potting Soil.
Other Challenges:

Lots to still do to be ready for Christmas celebrations that begin tonight.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas,
Georgiana

Happy Birthday at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Diva Fans,
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I hope you will join us this week since this is a fun challenge!

This Week's Challenge...
Birthday

Here is my Design Team project...
Hubby asked me to make him a birthday card for his father. He even asked a few days ahead instead the day before! First, I had to think about the design since I wanted it to be masculine, so I decided on the colors blue and brown. Distressed embossing folder added a bit of texture to the solid card stock.

I used MFT stitched dies for the mats and a circle die to cut the window. Happy Birthday was cut with my Cricut Expression~ Birthday Bash cartridge. The stars were cut with my Cuttlebug ~ MFT Blueprints.

Kraft color twine to match the sentiment and stars and Latte skittles by Carri to finish the bottom portion.

Make a birthday wish with all the stars!
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Birthdaychallenge. The other design team members did a fantastic job sending birthday wishes. Be sure to check out the variety!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Sunday!

Today is not only Father's Day, but Dorm Move-In Day. We will be spending the day together moving our "little" girl towards the next step of becoming independent. An exciting journey awaits her these next few years.

My hubby asked me the other day to make his father a card. Of course, he knew I would. I wanted a masculine look, but something a little different. That is when I decided to try these metal sheets I had in my stash! I first cut a 1" strip and embossed it in the Cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz distressed pattern. Then I cut the letters with my Cricut.

I used the following sketch from Jo's Scrap Shack.

I wrapped some gold sewing thread and randomly taped it on the backside of the MFT stitched circle. Latte skittles by Carri were glued in the upper right corner.
Other Materials:
DCWV pattern paper ~ the Natural Stack

Other Challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks ~ Metal
Hiding in My Craft Room ~ Masculine

Hope you make this a wonderful Father's Day for that special man in your life.

Feeling the Love

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love is in the air and cupid is shooting his arrows in every direction. Hoping you enjoy this day and spend some time with someone you love.

Here are a few cards I made Thursday night...I had to take really quick pictures to get them out (so the lighting may not be the best since I didn't use my light box).

For this first card I used the Spellbinders Heart Square die. I have had it for a while, but never used it. I added fabric hearts (they are a bit puffy too) along with a sentiment by Whimsical Designs stamp (With Love set ~ unfortunately it is no longer available).

This second card features a lock and key by Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons. I created the sentiment using Word and the crinkle ribbon is by 3 Girl JAM. Small back pearls were added in the upper right corner.

The last card has an embossed  background, which was created with a heart folder. Then the Spellbinders ~ Floral Oval was centered. I added a computer created sentiment and white pearls. More fabric hearts were adhered around the focal point.
 Other Materials:
white, black, pink, red, and cream card stock
My Mind's Eye pattern paper

Hope you have a lovely day!

Juli's Garden by Cuttlebug

I used my bowmaker to make a double white lace bow (3 Girl JAM). I attached a stamped tiny tag (My Craft Spot) with yellow and white twine.  Then I added yellow skittles in the centers of each of the flowers.
Other Materials:
white and yellow cardstock
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Celebrate Freedom with Explosions of Fun

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by!  Today is my day to share a project using any stamp from Craftin' Desert Diva's new stamp line. Be sure to check out the wide variety of sentiments available! Tara has 12 sets with more coming soon!

Here is my Design Team project...
I tried a new technique using distressed inks and a fireworks embossing folder to make the background "pop". The stamp says it all..it was definitely fun to try! The 4th of July wagon was one of the first freebies I obtained, but I just used it for the first time. Doesn't it match this stamp set perfectly!

The clear sentiment was stamped with a dark blue ink.

Red, white, and blue sequins were scattered as they exploded with fun!

Here is the set, Celebrate Freedom, one more time. Get yours today!

Other Materials:
red, white, blue, black, and brown card stock
red and blue distressed ink by Tim Holtz
Fireworks embossing folder by Darice
red, white, and blue sequins
Glitz glitter glue

3 Girl JAM Daily Post ~ Tie Dye Ribbon

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is my 3 Girl JAM day and I am using one of the newest products available...tie dye ribbon in pink. The soft blend of colors allow you to use it on all your creations. Plus it come in various other colors!

Here is my Design Team project...
I created a treat box using a plain boutique box from DeNami Designs. I picked up these 1x3x3 boxes at the Scrapbook Expo last year, but haven't used them since I have been using my zipped baggies. I decided to try fancying up the box, so it wouldn't be plain. What do  you think?

I cut the tag at 2 1/4" using Plantin Schoolbook (shadow feature too) and then added a flower sticker by SandyLion. I have so many stickers that even if I used one each day for the next 6 months I probably would still have plenty left. Liquid pearls in Pink and Key Lime were carefully dropped on each side.

The bow was create with 3 Girl JAM ribbon and some Pink Limeade Trendy Twine.

Now for the box...I used the Swirl embossing folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug and viola! No more plain plastic box! You could use any type of embossing folder for the theme you need. I have a few more of these boutique boxes, so will be trying some other patterns!

Here are the tie dye bundles available in the 3 Girl JAM shop. Stop by and gets yours today! The bundle includes 4 yards of each color for $4.97. Use GC10 for a discount.

Don't forget the monthly challenge...
