Country Birthday Wishes to You

Hello Everyone and Happy Saturday!

Only another week-and-a-half to Winter Break, but my daughter is already home enjoying hers. She has been busy in the craft room, so I will be competing for the big chair during the next three weeks. That makes me happy to know she enjoys crafting too. When I woke up this morning I found  six of the cutest holiday tags that she made after I fell asleep last night.

I made this birthday card the other day and wanted to share before the Christmas projects start to dominate time and space. I really like how this one turned out. I actually surprised myself since I have not been through some of my supplies in quite a while. Time to change that!

The stamped sentiment is from My Favorite Things ~ Handwritten Happiness set. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink along with the Misti to get a nice, dark stamped image.

The canvas flower is from Poppies & Paperie Embellishment Co (Paper Studios) and the cream colored lace was in my stash. The wood grain paper is from Paper Studios (Hobby Lobby). I think they may have it in a couple different colors...I need to check for more.
Other Materials:
MFT Blueprints 20 ~ Scalloped rectangle
MFT Blueprints 24 ~ Stitched rectangle and fishtail pennant
kraft, cream, and teal cardstock
pearls

Dare 2B Artzy Guest Designer ~ Day 2

 Hello Everyone,
I am thrilled that I am Guest Designer at Dare 2B Artzy again. Be sure to stop by their blog and then head to the shop, so you can add a few of their products to your stash.

Today's Guest Designer Project...
Since I used a butterfly last week, I decided to choose a flower from the Wishing Happiness stamp set for this project.

First, I stamped the flower with Versafine Onyx Black ink on heavy white cardstock and then I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the lines.  After tapping off the excess powder, I heat embossed the image. I used Chameleon markers to color the flower in shades of pink and purples. I cut out a MFT scalloped frame in purple polka dot paper and adhered it onto a rectangular piece of pink paper.

The stamped sentiment is from the same stamp set ~ Wishing Happiness and it is also heat embossed. Pink and purple sequins were scattered on opposites sides of the flower in groups of three. Lastly, mini purple pearls were added to the center of the flower and in the middle of each sequin.

This card should bring a smile to someone's face since happiness is being wished upon them.
Thank you again Cindy and Kendra for allowing me to be Guest Designer this month. Looking forward to another project next  week.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Cut It Up! Spring Blog Hop

Happy Springy Friday!
Today brings a special blog hop which combines Cut It Up and Die Cuttin' Divas design team members.

Here is my project:
I just love treat bags and boxes. What better way to tell someone you are thinking about them than with a pretty gift (This Jamie Cripps large gift box is from Silhouette Design Store). Give them a flower that will last, along with something they like (maybe candy, nail polish, craft goodies, or a gift card).

I cut the flowers on my Cameo and the tiny tags with my Cuttlebug. The pattern paper is Hello Spring by American Crafts (I found this stack at Tuesday Mornings.).

Ribbon, twine, and gems were in the stash.

Thinking of You with Avery Elle Flowers

Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday!

Thanks for being here today. I have been busy in the craft room since early this morning. I saved a few sketches I thought would be fun and then I wrote the challenges for the past week to see what I might be able to join.

Today's Project...
I decided to join Tuesday Morning Sketches and I made not one, but two cards. I noticed I have been using quite a bit of pink the last two weeks, so I switched up the color palette to blues, yellows and then orange.

For the second card I rotated the sketch and changed the colors to yellow and orange.

I used the same stamp set, but adhered orange gems around the scallop to add a little pizazz.
 Other Challenges:

Glad you stopped by! This is going to be a busy and creative week with Valentines. Hope you will come again!

I'm So Grateful...What About You?

Hello and Happy Saturday!
It's a three day weekend for us and today was a busy one, but I have done a bunch and the day isn't even over yet. I started with a walk at the park with my friend (we completed 3.7 miles), then I did some shopping (groceries and craft supplies). Michaels had a 60% off coupon, so I found a Tim Holtz alcohol ink kit to try.  Couldn't beat that deal! Joann had two 50% off coupons and Hobby Lobby always has a 40% off coupon. Hubby and I also went to lunch since we still have some certificates from Christmas we need to use before they expire.

Once I got home I started some laundry and then hid in my craft room. Well, I didn't really hide. Everyone knows where I go! : )

Today's project...
Resist Technique using Color Burst. I watched a video by Ken Oliver demonstrating how he uses his powders and I gave it a try. I tried to stay away from blue and pink so I pulled out crimson, orange, yellow, green, and violet.

The flower stamp (Doodle Flowers) is by Inkadinkadoo, the sentiment (Thanks so Very Much set) is by My Favorite Things, the butterfly stamp (SC Designs) was a freebie from a card magazine (Cardmaking & Papercraft), and everything was heat embossed with white Zing powder.

The cardstock for each base is by My Favorite Things and the enamel dots are by Teresa Collins. I cut the watercolor paper with a Wonky Stitches die by Avery Elle on my Cuttlebug.
Hope you are able to try something new. I am grateful to have a long weekend and can explore. How about you? Do you have MLK Day off? What are your plans?

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy!

Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge ~ Good Luck!

Happy Wednesday!
I am counting down to the Orlando Scrapbook Expo this Friday! I am super excited and my daughter even decided to come with me to try the Make N Takes and help me pick out some crafting goodies.

Today is our LAST day of standardized testing for this school year. My students said the Science Session 1 was easy yesterday. I hope that means they learned a lot this year and knew all the material.

It is also Paper Play Sketches Day. This week it is a color challenge. I have decided to continue trying to use the provided colors and it is actually getting easier.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I made treats for my two team mates.

The Scallop Trapezoid Handle bag is by SVG Cutting Files. The flower is from an assorted set at Miss Kate Cuttables.

The mini tag and stamped sentiment is by My Craft Spot. The yellow ribbon and purple twine was in my stash.
Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they used the colors.

Georgiana

Diagonal Cover-up for your Birthday

Hello Everyone!

It sure is getting cold outside (Brrrr!), so I have no plans to go anywhere if I don't have too. I want to stay in the house, stay warm, and use all my new crafting goodies. My hubby asked me today if I was happy with all my goodies and I told him yes. Now he is watching football and I get time to craft! That is definitely happiness for both of us!

I was excited to get this MFT diagonal cover-up for Christmas (Of course, I picked out the stamps and dies I wanted). I have seen it used a few different ways, so I decided to stick with a clean and simple look. First, I cut the cover-up in white with my Cuttlebug and then I cut it again in purple.

I cut a MFT Scribble Rose and Overlay and then found some greenery on my table. The birthday sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Supersized Birthday Greetings.

I added Wink of Stella to the purple rose for a bit of sparkle.
Challenges:

Hope you have a great night! Until next time...

Thanks...You Can Never Have Too Many

Hello Crafty Friends,

We had a busy morning here...had to take the daughter to Tack Shack and buy some new riding gear (Ariat tall boots and a helmet). She hasn't had anything new in YEARS, so it was time. She is hoping to compete one day and with the fabulous instructor she now has, she should do well!

Seems like I NEVER have enough thank you cards. I needed one yesterday and didn't have any available. Isn't that always the way. Time to create a small stash!

Here is the first one...

I used the Stick It Down sketch. First time I am joining this challenge, but I am hoping to make it regularly. I think the sketch changes once a month.

I used Scribble Roses and a stitched circle by My Favorite Things. The sentiment was cut on my Cricut ~ "Just Because" Cards.
Other Challenges:

Time to get busy and work on a Design Team project now!
Have a great night and enjoy your Sunday!

Celebrate Administrative Professionals Day

Hello Everyone!
Welcome Back to Carson' s Creations...thanks for stopping by!

Yesterday on my way home from school my hubby called me and asked if I had time to make him two cards for his secretaries. He said he was on the way to the store to buy gift cards and he would buy cards if I was too busy. I told him I had something I needed to do and maybe I would have time. He said he would just buy two cards...YES...that is what he actually said! My body cringed at the sound of that, so...I told him I had another idea.

I used the seed packet file from the night before...the gift card fit in each one perfectly! Gotta' love when one project file has multiple purposes.
NO store bought cards here!

I used Word (Lucinda Calligraphy) to create the sentiment for the tag (Spellbinders ~ Label Eleven). More 3 Girl JAM ribbon and Miss Kate Cuttables flower.

Here is the free SVG file again.

I made a few more in different colors, but changed the tag sentiment. Easy Peasy!
Other Material:
card stock from scrapbox
twine
buttons
gems/pearls
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Hope you have a great night! Let me know what you think and please share what you are currently working on. Soon I am going to be experimenting with watercolors and stamping. Also, I am curious to know what are some of your favorite on-line stores. I am a bit disappointed with Michaels, Joann, and Hobby Lobby...I need some NEW choices!

A Cute Spring Flower

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back! Thanks for stopping by!
I have been busy with school for the past couple of weeks, but I am ready to craft again..the Orlando Scrapbook Expo is today and I am actually taking the day off from school to go! Very exciting! I am registered for two classes and I am hoping to find some new supplies!

Today is also my day to post at Miss Kate Cuttables. Before I share my daily post, I want to remind you there is a free file that you can download every day. YES! Every day a new and different one. Be sure to get yours today!

Here is my Design Team project...
I recently bought a new Hampton Arts stamp set at Joanns for 50% 0ff that I have been waiting to use and I was thrilled to find the perfect spring time flower to match one of the sentiments. What do you think?

The card layout is from this week's Die Cuttin' Diva sketch. Hope you will try it!

I used the Cute Flower file. I used various shades of pink, but you could use your favorite color combination. This flower is easy to cut and extremely versatile.
A pink candy ribbon bow by 3 Girl JAM, a little inking on the edges, and a few enamel dots keep this card clean and simple.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Super Scraps Saturday

Hello Crafty Friends,

After looking at this massive bucket of scrap paper I decided that I should start using them instead of creating more. I just can't help it sometimes...when I want a certain color I just cut a new piece of card stock. I even have numerous pads of papers (6 x 6, 8 x 8,  and 12 x 12) with scraps in them too.

I started by creating small piles of color coded papers. It doesn't put a dent in the bucket, but at least it is a start.
Then I created a sketch I wanted to use (rotated one 180 degrees) and started piecing the colors together. These three worked nicely since I had some of the My Mind's Eye paper scraps all thrown together. Talk about luck! Who knows what else I might find if I keep digging!

My intentions were to create birthday cards for all of the staff at my school before we go back (we go back one month from today...time sure does fly!). Well, the train was too cute for an adult, so I made it for one of the office staff's grandson instead.
Here they are individually...
I added ribbon, gems, brads, and die cuts to make each one unique.
Spring Bird by Miss Kate Cuttables and My Craft Spot Tiny Tag stamp

Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and Labels Eleven Spellbinder

Create a Friend and Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridges and My Craft Spot stamp
Challenge:

I am definitely going to make more with these scraps...it will be a Super Scraps Sunday too. I challenge you to use your scraps before they get out of control! What will you make? Can't wait to see!

Handmade Embellishments at Little Scrap Pieces

Hello Crafty Friends,

Spring Break began today at 3:30! Yippee!
Although I do not have plans to travel anywhere, I am just excited to have the time off. So much to do and I know the time is going to fly by, so I am going to start enjoying now!

There is a new challenge today at Little Scrap Pieces.

The Challenge...Handmade Embellishments
There are so many options! I like to make flowers and stick pins.
What is your favorite embellishment to create?
I created my flower with a variety of layers and the center flower has small beads. I also added skittles created by Carri at Abusybee.

The second card I made used a skittle for the center of the flower. Aren't these colors perfect for Spring (and Spring Break!)!
The papers came from DCWV ~ The Carnival stack.

Hope you will join us at Little Scrap Pieces this week for our Handmade Embellishment challenge. Can't wait to see your project and your embellishment.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana
