3-2-1: I Turtley Adore You at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Diva Fans!
Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by!
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
~ 3- 2 - 1 ~
You must use 3 pattern papers, 2 embellishments, and 1 ribbon or bow.

Here is my Design Team project...
I had two these pattern papers sitting on my craft table and decided to finally use them...I just had to choose a third piece to fit the challenge. I used two skittles from DoubleClick and finally added a twine bow for the third component of the 3-2-1.

I used the following sketch from Sunday Stamps.

I just received the MFT turtle in the mail and had to use it right away. After I stamped it, I realized I should have used my daughter's technique. She heat embosses the stamped image with clear embossing powder. It makes a sharp outline and prevents bleeding. If I have time after school, I may give it another try and replace my image.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "3-2-1challenge.

You're A Great Friend

Hello Everyone,
It has been busy the past couple of days, but this next week should be a bit slower paced. My daughter and I went to Flagler Beach on Thursday and yesterday I went to a National Science Conference in Orlando since my co-worker was unable to attend. That was a neat experience to be be able to talk to other Science teachers from all over the world. The authors of the Picture Perfect series presented and I attended an electrical cicuit session that was loads of fun.

Today I am sharing a card I made for a great friend just not sure which one yet.

I used the following sketch from My Favorite Things.

I used the cloud stencil to create the background then added my stamped lovable leopard with pop dots. I used lots of MFT die for the scalloped edges, square frame, stitched rectangle mat, and sentiment banner.

The sentiment is from the MFT Lovable Leopard stamp set.
Hope you have a fabulous weekend,
Take Care,
Georgiana

Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge

Happy Wednesday All!
We are half way through another week and it sure has been a productive one. I am pleased to be able to share our weekly challenge at Paper Play Sketches this week because I love the color combination.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
When I saw these colors I remembered I had a paper stack in my stash that would match perfectly. After retrieving it (Tell Your Story by Teresa Collins) from the shelf, I was a bit disappointed  because I didn't have many sheets to choose from. I had used quite a bit of the stack, but I was able to find a few pieces that layered nicely.

The Happy Wishes die is by WPlus9, the flowers are by Recollections, and the Clover Skittles are by DoubleClick.

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they used the colors.

Sending Thanks with a Dandelion Fluff

Happy Wednesday!
It's storming outside, which means it is a good reason to stay in the craft room. Time to try something new, maybe watch a video, or find a free class on Scrapbook.com. Options!

It is also  Paper Play Sketches Day!
This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I have been thinking about what I need to add to my stash of cards...birthday and thank you topped the list. I never have enough for family, friends, or co-workers since I don't typically plan ahead. I'd like to be able to surprise more people with some happy mail too.

The paper stack is "Park Benches" by Fancy Pants and the dandelion fluff die is by Elizabeth Craft Designs. The mini sentiment is an oldie by My Pink Stamper, the twine was in my stash, and the Cloudy blue skittles are by Carri at DoubleClick.

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they interpreted the sketch.

Birthday Macaron

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have been able to sit and create a few projects during the past two days and what a great feeling it has been. At first I was worried that I would get the new desk dirty and I was afraid to touch anything, but that feeling quickly faded once I started. Shortly later my hubby asked me if I liked my room and I said, "YES!"

I found some wall decor at Hobby Lobby, purchased the last four kraft photo boxes for my cube, hubby put that valance up, and I created a couple blue bouquets of flowers. Just waiting for UPS to deliver my Michaels storage cart and marker cubes.

I chatted with Carri of DoubleClick this afternoon and we decided to make a birthday project to enter some challenges. I miss those days when we would have so much more time to craft together.

I found this die at the Orlando Scrapbook Expo. It is by Elizabeth Craft Designs. I had never heard of the company before, but I was quickly impressed with the variety of dies, the demonstrations, and the kindness of the staff at the booth. I used Milled Lavendar Distress Ink to color the macaron. I didn't have any micro glitter (on the list now), so I used glitter glue which worked fine.  The itty bitty stamp is an oldie by My Pink Stamper.

I used some purple glitter skittles by DoubleClick Skittles

Challenges:
I had fun crafting and I am looking forward to the rest of the summer. Lots of ideas brewing! If you like what you see, please become a follower. Leave me your blog name and I will stop by to see what you have been making!

A Little Note from an Ant

Happy Friday!

Earlier this week I had a student come over for some crafting time. Throughout the school year we would chat about projects and she was curious to learn more, so I spoke with her mom and said I would love to show her some techniques. I let her explore with water colors and distress inks. We had a great time!

This background is what I had created when I showed her how to do blending with distress inks. I actually had started with the green on the top and then decided if I rotated it I could make a night sky.

The ant with apple is by Miss Kate Cuttables. He is popped up along with the white stars on foam dots. The stamped sentiment is by Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ More Mini Messages and glitter silver skittles by Carri in the other lower corner.

I added Wink of Stella clear glitter to create a sparkle on my stars.
Be sure to stop by Die Cuttin' Diva for this week's challenge...ant/picnic. You still have timr to join the challenge. We have an awesome sponsor too!

This week sure did fly by! Hope you enjoy the weekend!

July's Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Everyone!

I am back and ready to go after taking a cruise in the Caribbean for a week. What a fabulous trip my hubby and I had. We went snorkeling, sail boating, and cave exploring in three different ports. I am sure that will be the last vacation we take for quite a while since the daughter is now in college. She came home for the holiday weekend, which was a perfect way to wrap up our weekend. Now I am busy again at the craft table!

The new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas was posted yesterday and I wasn't quite prepared. I started to work on 5 scrapbook pages from the end of Senior year, but they still need a few finishing touches. Then, I created my DT project. Now I am ready to share!

This Week's Challenge...
July's Sketch

Here is my Design Team project...
My daughter has been waiting for mail to arrive in her dorm post box. Can you believe...Grandma beat me to it! This cutie is going out in the mail today, so she should have it before the end of the week. I am going to put a few lotto tickets in it just for fun.

The rubber duck is by Miss Kate Cuttables. The sailor's hat is by KaDoodle Bug Designs. The stictched circle is by My Favorite Things.

The stamped sentiment is by Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ See You Later Alligator, stamp set. Clover skittles by Carri are on both sides of the speech bubble (found it in my Silhouette library and adjusted it to fit my needs).
Other Challenges:

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for the "July Sketchchallenge. The other design team members sure know how to interpret a layout. Be sure to check out the variety!

Happy Birthday at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Diva Fans,
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I hope you will join us this week since this is a fun challenge!

This Week's Challenge...
Birthday

Here is my Design Team project...
Hubby asked me to make him a birthday card for his father. He even asked a few days ahead instead the day before! First, I had to think about the design since I wanted it to be masculine, so I decided on the colors blue and brown. Distressed embossing folder added a bit of texture to the solid card stock.

I used MFT stitched dies for the mats and a circle die to cut the window. Happy Birthday was cut with my Cricut Expression~ Birthday Bash cartridge. The stars were cut with my Cuttlebug ~ MFT Blueprints.

Kraft color twine to match the sentiment and stars and Latte skittles by Carri to finish the bottom portion.

Make a birthday wish with all the stars!
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Birthdaychallenge. The other design team members did a fantastic job sending birthday wishes. Be sure to check out the variety!

Thanks for stopping by!

With Sympathy

Welcome back to Carson's Creations! I am so very pleased you have stopped by today since I am sharing another one of my originals.

Have you ever wanted a stamp set and then when you got it...you didn't use it. Well, I had to have the MFT watercolor flowers and then I was a bit intimidated by the layering when I actually opened the package.

I stamped a little and thought this isn't going to work. I got the MISTI for Mother's Day and thought that would help...nope! Then I watched a video about layering and voila! It clicked. I felt like one of my students who finally "got it".
Now I am no expert, but I sure do feel more comfortable with using these stamps again. I used a few different stamp colors to create the petals, the center is a brownish-green, and then the leaves and stems were a couple different shades of green.
I added clear Wink of Stella to the center, skittles by Carri in the upper left corner, and a stamped sentiment by Craftin' Desert Divas ~ Simply Said set.
I am happy with how these flowers turned out for the first time. I am definitely going to continue to practice layering and see what else I can create. This card counts as Project of the Day #20. Better see what Sharon has posted!

Enjoy your day and take care!

Welcome Baby! (No Baby Here!)

Happy Wednesday! It's Hump Day!

For me...that means it is getting closer to cruise time (I know we just went during Spring Break, but we couldn't pass up this deal.). Hubby and I are going on a cruise without the kids. First time ever! It will sort of be like a second honeymoon...23 years later. I am very excited since it will be fun in the sun and we have a couple excursions planned.

Today I want to share Project of the Day #19. Not to bad...I have been posting almost every day! Sharon...I think this was the best challenge you started! Another goal I set for myself was to try a bunch of different sketches and here is a new one I found. I made a baby card because it always seems to be baby season.

I used the following sketch by Atlantic Hearts.

I used papers from my scrap pile because I now have two places that they are accumulating. I have a problem with throwing even little pieces away since you might need it one day. You just never know! The rattle is from KaDoodle Bug Designs (Precious Baby Girl set) and the stamped sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ More Mini Messages.
Challenges:

Hope you enjoy your day! I have a list that I need to tackle, so I can feel as if I accomplished something today. Be sure to stop by Mee Mee's Creations, so you can see who inspired me to do a project a day this summer.

Today is the last day...Stop by my FB page for a RAK giveaway. Winner will be announced June 22nd (this evening).

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Sunday!

Today is not only Father's Day, but Dorm Move-In Day. We will be spending the day together moving our "little" girl towards the next step of becoming independent. An exciting journey awaits her these next few years.

My hubby asked me the other day to make his father a card. Of course, he knew I would. I wanted a masculine look, but something a little different. That is when I decided to try these metal sheets I had in my stash! I first cut a 1" strip and embossed it in the Cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz distressed pattern. Then I cut the letters with my Cricut.

I used the following sketch from Jo's Scrap Shack.

I wrapped some gold sewing thread and randomly taped it on the backside of the MFT stitched circle. Latte skittles by Carri were glued in the upper right corner.
Other Materials:
DCWV pattern paper ~ the Natural Stack

Other Challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks ~ Metal
Hiding in My Craft Room ~ Masculine

Hope you make this a wonderful Father's Day for that special man in your life.

Drop Me a Line

Happy Saturday!

Hope everyone is ready to enjoy their weekend. What do you have planned? I told my hubby I'd like to get some new shorts, so hopefully we will find some good deals. We also need to pick up his Father's Day present.

As I was thinking about what project I wanted to make next, I decided to work on some sketches. I had about five or six saved on my desktop and was ready to get crafty.

I saved this sketch from Cardz TV last week because I liked the possibility of different background papers that could be used. I bought this paper pad (The Stamps of Life ~ Laugh Collection) at the Scrapbook Expo and was excited to use the patriotic colors.

The anchor is from a Miss Kate Cuttables file which was cut on my Cameo. I added ribbon, Trendy Twine, and a button to dress it up. Then Denim skittles by Carri were adhered in the lower left corner.

The stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs (closed) and it is stamped on a MFT fishtail banner. The background mat was cut with MFT Blueprint #13.
Challenges:

This is Project of the Day #16. Can't wait to make the next!

Have a fabulous day!

Bonjour Glitzy Glitter

Hello Everyone,

Happy Friday! Hope you have enjoyed your week and are ready for the weekend. Do you have any plans? I don't think we have anything planned for tomorrow, but Sunday is dorm move-in day. We shall see if that is a happy or sad day.

At the beginning of the week I watched My Favorite Thing's Camp Create video ~ Glitzy Glitter. I was interested in trying the tips that were suggested, so I ran to the store and bought some Swifters. Needless to say...I had glitter every where, but it was still fun!

I used the following sketch from Sketch Saturday.

I cut the MFT Eiffel Tower on double sided adhesive paper with my Cuttlebug. Then I sprinkled the black glitter and rubbed it with my finger. That part worked really well.

I cut the word Bonjour from my Sentimental Cricut cartridge at 1" and then added black glitter skittles by Carri.

Here is my first badge that I have earned! Yay!
Other Materials:
black cardstock
My Mind's Eye grid pattern paper
Teresa Collins passport stamp paper
tea dye distress ink for edges

Other Challenges:
Creative Corner ~ Glittermania

Time to earn another badge or two! Looks like there is watercolor, die-cutting, and shakers to still participate in. Hmmm? Which one to do next?

Hope you will come back to find out!

Just Because ~ Project of the Day #13

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are doing well. The news here in Central Florida continues to get more depressing, but we are keeping our heads up hoping for some good to come soon.

I have been staying inside during the day since it has been SUPER hot and watching some crafting videos. I found one called Scraps and Stamps and Theresa sent me a link to Justine's Crafts. Once you start watching those addicting videos then you have to watch another and then you have to try the techniques. As I watch each video, my list of supplies I need to purchase continues to grow.

I am really enjoying water coloring, but decided to step it up a notch. I wanted to add heat embossing and coloring together, so I went to Michaels yesterday just to find a large flower stamp since I didn't want to wait to order one on-line. Found one! I really like this one by Stampendous ~ Daisy Thanks.

First, I used MFT Blueprint 20 to cut the scalloped edge from 140 lb Canson watercolor paper. Then I used my VersaMark and white ZING! embossing powder to stamp/heat the daisies. Rather than using watercolor paints, I used my mustard seed, frayed burlap, and salty ocean distress inks on an acrylic block to paint the flowers and the background.

The stamped sentiment is by JustRite ~ Large Fancy Sentiments set. Latte skittles by Carri were adhered with Tombow liquid glue.

The card base is MFT 100 lb heavyweight card stock. I love ALL the colors in the sampler pack! This yellow is Lemon Drop.
Challenges:

This afternoon I plan on trying some blending to create backgrounds. Time to get inky!

Georgiana
