September stockings and Parolin

"Our hearts were ringing, in the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night, remember how the stars stole the night away
Bade ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a
cloudy day"

Happy Fall you all! E' finalmente Autunno! :

Hello! I'm not disappared...I don't like summer at all, and now that Autumn is officially started, I'm getting back here, writing on my blog!

Inizio col mostrarvi qualche lavoretto...

I'm gonna show you something finished...
...this is something I actually finished last year, but i never posted it, and this year it was a pleasure to hang it again!

I stitched this back in 2004...it is stitched on a BIG Aida...a lot of time is passed! But I love this chart, anyway.

Another Autumn classic..mushrooms! Found by my boyfriend in the wood. They're special!

A French breakfast... I bought both cup and spoon in Bretagne, where I spent a beautiful week this summer! The tablecloth was a gift from Miriam for Miss Marple exchange "Tea with Crime". Miriam doesn't have a blog, but I want to thank her for her gift, I really appreciated it!

This is what I stitched for Gemma for Miss Marple's exchange. She liked it, and I am very happy for that!

This is another little shabby project, still working on it, it's a work in progress!

This is what I stitched for Milly, for another exchange, organized on our Yahoo! group for Prairie Schooler stitchers. Milly is also a dear friend of mine, so it was such a pleasure stitching for her!

Grazie ancora cara Milly!

I received from Milly this wonderful box, with as extra some threads ando something more! Thank you so much again, dear Milly!

And, to finish this looooong post, here you are some other finishes, more letters for Ornella 's SAL of Parolin's Alfabetario, and also my very own personal Blackbird Desings stockings SAL! You can see a picture with lots of stockings, it's the picture of the first half of the stockings, from Jauary to June! It's so cute seeing them together!:)

It's all for now, but I'll be back soon, this time!!

D is for Digitalis (Digitalis purpurea)

Hello my dear friends!
Fist of all I hope you have enjoyed my freebie of my previous post, I would like to see a picture if you are willing to stitch it, thank you!

I have stitched a little less in this period, maybe it is due to spring... I can show you only one finished piece, others two are on their way for two exchanges so I can't show you them before the recepients see them!

This is my monthly SAL, Renato Parolin's Alfabetario, organized by Ornella here http://latartarugafolle.over-blog.com/

We started in January with A letter, so in April D is the letter..

Which stands for...

Digitalis Purpurea

Next month Edelweiss will be the subject to stitch, but I have already stitched it before the SAL started, and actually it is already framed LOL! So I will come back with this SAL in June with F letter, which will stand for Farfalla, that means Butterfly!

In stitches,
Sara

A is for..Holly!

"Agrifoglio", or Holly, is finished!

I love monochromatic charts, and especially Renato Parolin charts stitched in DMC 221!

I have already stitched letters B and C, so see you for letter D!
As it is a SAL, where we are supposed to stitch one letter a month, I will have to wait until April to start letter D.
No matter, I will find something else to stitch in the meantime ;)

In stitches,
Sara

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Good morning, my name is Sara and I am a serial starter...

I read about this SAL from a Facebook friend, Ornella, who has a blog ( http://latartarugafolle.over-blog.com/ ).

How could I resist? It's the Renato Parolin's "Alfabetario", I blogged about it last year ( http:/celticgreenshamrock.blogspot.com/2009/04/i-love-dmc-221-and-renato-parolin.html ). I have done 4 blocks so far, but getting to 26 done is so long.
With this SAL, I hope to be more regular in stitching those letters. I love them!
We are doing one letter a month, starting from the letter A (really, LOL !, so it will take us about 2 years to finish. Very long SAL!

Letter A is for "Agrifoglio", which is "Holly" in English.
I am stitching all of them in DMC 221.

Enjoy your weekend. I am not feeling very well, some fever and flu. I guess I will stay in bed with blankets and stitching to keep me warm, hoping my headache goes away soon.

Until next time, in stitches
Sara
