Happy New Year 2011!

TANTI TANTI AUGURI!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! A new year has started, and I really do hope that 2011 will bring you everything you desire!

BONNE ANNEE!

This is my "stitching garbage" for 2010, this is not all the garbage actually,I have a "special" project which I am still working at, so I am keeping the garbage for this project in another place. It's still a WIP so it will last for 2011 too!

And, on the stitching side, I have joined two other projects, the first one is this: http://minnanharrastukset.blogspot.com/2010/11/ristipistohassutus2011.html , this is the Crazy January Challenge 2011: we have to stitch 15 projects in the first 15 days of January, and then finish them within 2011. I am almost done with my decision for the 15 charts, the first one that I started yesterday is this one:

Si tratta dello schema "A Multiplication Table Examplar" di With My Needle. Oggi inizierò "Poussiere de Fée" di Nimue.

It's "A Multiplication Table Examplar" of With My Needle.
Today I'm gonna start stitching "Poussiere de Fée" of Nimue.

The other project is this one: http://2009christmaschallenge.blogspot.com/
It's the Christmas Challenge 2011, we have to stitch one Christmas ornament per month!

It's all for now, again, best wishes to you and to the ones you hold dear!

Easter is gone...now it's time to think Christmas!

This year I can't stop being in Christmas mood. Don't know why. Usually, I arrive at Christmas and I can't stand to see Christmas stitching anymore until later in the year. But not this time. Maybe it's because, with someone above's help, if DB and I will find OUR home, it will be our first Christmas together in OUR home, so I need special decorations to celebrate. I really think this is the reason!

Anyway, here's my favourite Christmas stitching up to now: it's Blackbird Designs "Merry Christmas" taken from the wonderful book "Joyeux Noel".

I have stitched it with recommended hand dyed threads on a 40ct fabric hand dyed by me with tea. I just love it, in its simplicity. Still have to decide how to finish it,but I think it will be a banner for a door. Any other ideas girls?

And this is another ornament, the one for March at the Bride's Tree SAL.

The subject of the month was: flower or flowers basket, so I took a particular from "Poinsettia House" of Little House Needleworks, and stitched it. I used a scrap of fabric used for the Blackbird Designs above. Here nothing is wasted!

During the month of March I did not miss my date with Blackbird Designs stockings.

Needless to say that I love stitching those stockings more and more while I go on with this project. I love seeing the pile of stockings growing, waiting for the moment I will understand HOW to display them, LOL!

March of course means St. Patricks's day. Again, needless to say hw I love this holiday, my Irish roots (which I know I have, I am sure of it!) use to bring me to the pub with DB and friends, Guinness flowing and flowing, Irish music all around and this is happiness!

My creaivty also flows, this year I made those Shamrocks, I found a pattern ont tbe internet and then it's just a matter of cut, fill and sew ! Quick, easy and I love the result! Those little shamrocks followed me to the pub and our table was the most creative one in the pub!

Blackbird Designs "Wild Clover" stocking also followed me. Dont' you think it's just perfect near a pint of Guinness? :))

ok..it's all for now. I am working on my April Sal(s) at the moment, I have to run with my Hawk Run Hollows, in March I almost forgot them....but I will be forgiven!
And, I have a project for Mother's day. I would like to celebrate not only my mother, but also my grandmother and my great-grandmother, with two Blackbird Designs Samplers fromt he gorgeous "Honeysuckle Manor" booklet.
One month to go...will I do i? Mmmmh I hope so.
We'll see!

I wish you a joyful month of April
In stitches,

Sara :)

February Christmas stitching

I forgot to post my February Christmas stitching at the end of the month so here they are

The one in the middle is the second work of my Bride's Tree SAL,( http://bridestreesal.blogspot.com/ ), and it's from JCS Ornament Issue 2009, it is called "Swedish hearts" from Scandinavian Stitches. Thread is hand-dyed by me.

The other two are two charts of Renato Parolin. I stitched "Peace" and "Love", but there is also "Joy" and I will do it in March.
"Peace" is stitched with DMC 930, "Love" is stitched with DMC 221.

I received my AaHRH chart!! Can't wait to start it, it is more than beautiful!

Enjoy your day

Autumn finishes and Christmas beginning :)

I have two more finshes to share. I stitched them fast so I did not post progresses for them :)

This is an old Lizzie Kate chart. It was easy and fun to stitch

And this is a Plum Pudding Needleheart one. Oh, how I love pumpkins!

...and this is the first of twelve Lizzie Kate Christmas Spirit double flips of last year, I have started them to alternate some Autumn stitching with some Christmas stitching! I am planning to stitch also some of old Prairie Schooler Santas for this year.

Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of the Man on the Moon. To celebrate the date, I have started sitching a chart by Tanya, with some changes...hope to finish it today to have it ready tomorrow!
The fabric is dark blue and not black as it seems :)

Have a nice sunday!

Some finishes!

Those are 3 of my latest finishes. The Cats one was mixed-and-matched by me. 27.11.1997 is the date since my BF and I are together. This year it will be Thanksgiving too! Perfect day to be thankful.

As usual, you can click to enlarge.
