My Plimoth-in-green pillow!

I was undecided:frame it or pillow it? I turned around the whole house yesterday, andI did not come to a decision. When I came home from work this evening, I suddenly had the truth revealed: it's a pillow! It came to my mind that I had some rope somewhere, and some autum-coloured fbric flowers. So, the finshed piece was clear in my mind. Here you are the pictures! You can as usual click to enlarge.

I like the result so much. It is stitched on 40 count lambswool linen, so you can imagine it's a little one. It is pefect for the armchair key!

The chart "At Plimoth" is made by Tanya of "The sampler girl". Hey, Tanya, big hugs from here too.

Some finishes!

Those are 3 of my latest finishes. The Cats one was mixed-and-matched by me. 27.11.1997 is the date since my BF and I are together. This year it will be Thanksgiving too! Perfect day to be thankful.

As usual, you can click to enlarge.

Election Night SAL - Plimoth by Tanya - The Sampler Girl

After a working day, and some sleep, here you are my progress of my work Still have to finish, but really today I was so tired. It was 6.30 AM when Obama speech ended, and I woke up after one hour. I am still happy for Barack Obama, but I have to say that I heard McCain speech, and I must admit that this speech was so good. That's how a politician should act in my opinion. Congratulations, senator McCain, you are well appreciated for what you said, even here in Italy and even between Obama supporters. In Italy, we can only DREAM politicians like Obama and McCain. Our system is differnt and we have too many parties. I support "Partito Democratico" which is Democrtic Party, in Italian. Our leader is Walter Veltroni, but unfortunately he lost during April elections against Berlusconi. How I am disappointed! Berlusconi in absolutely unfit to lead my beloved Country. That's for sure. I hope for better times. Back to USA,unfortunately, I think that 8 Bush years have been too much fo too many people, and Republicans paid for that. Let's see what President Obama will do. I was part of History, and surely it was a night to remember, and to keep as memory to share. Thanks to you, America!

And now...the pictures! Click on the picures to enlarge.

Once again, Thank you Tanya for being so talented and kind to give us such beautiful stuff to stitch, and thanks to all the girls who shared this stitching night with a faraway girl in Italy!

YES, WE DID!!!!! Barack Obama is the new president ofthe United States of America!

Remembering a friend...

Dear Gaby, you re so missed. One year and a month since you went away, and we still miss your cigar, your crazyness and your music. In this long night, a thought for you. A pint in Temple Bar was up for you, and I am sure you saw me from above, mayb while playing bouzouki with the angels. And  can imagine you laughing at me whie Genoa won against Milan...last time we saw you were screaming at me, because Genoa lost against Milan...it seems a century, it's only a year. The notes of Danny Boy still make me cry. I miss you so much.

"Oh Danny Boy, the pipes the pipes are calling
from glen to glen and down the mountains side
the summer's gone and all the flowers are dying
'tis you 'tis you must goand I must bide
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
or when the valley's hushed or white with snow
'tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy I love you so"

Provence feeling...

Here is another finish, together with some stuff that I bought during my trip in France last august. I simply love lavender, ad lavender colour! The chart is a free one from "Les grilles de Maryse".

Cheers, Sara

Election day is approaching...

Ok, ok... I know. I am Italian. So, I will not vote on November, the 4th. Actually, I already did it, in April, and it wasn't so good for the party I supported. Guess what is its name? Partito Democratico, and as you can easily understand, is the perfect translation of Democratic Party. In January I discovered his young american man, following his speeches during the first primary caucuses...I was blinded by him, and I started to read his books, listen to his speeches staying up until very late night, and wake up early in the morning to go to work. Then, a freebie from Tanya...and I started to stitch it...and then I filled it with lavender flowers...so here you are this little finish. I will not vote, on November the 4th. But this man gave me a hope. And this is what I need now from politics!

Cheers,

Sara

"At the pub on the crossroad...."

This is one of my cross stitch works and actually it was the first that I "designed" by myself. Or, better it's a mix-and-match chart which I created.
The pint was taken by a kit that I bought at Belfast airport last June. The verse is taken from a song called "Drink it up" (LOL!) and it's one of my favourite Irish songs, and I created the chart for it. Then, in the end, I added the 2 shamrocks under the pint. I used Crescent Colors floss for that. Black coffee was perfect for the beer's colour! There was DMC black 310 in the kit, but it wasn't the real Guinness colour...so, I have found the right one! What do you think about it?
Bye and..cheers! (Slainte in Irish Gaelic!)

The first post!

...this is my first post...so what can I say? I am an Italian girl, interested in so many things that I want you to discover with my posts...so, please, come back soon and share my life with me!

For today...it's Halloween! Maybe you don't know that Halloween is an old celtic celebration, which was called Samhain. So, Halloween is not american, but Irish rooted!

All for now...but I will come back soon! :)
