30...

I am 30 now. Wow, that sounds strange. But I am happy.. I had a wonderful birthday, surrounded by warmth of friends, boyfriend and family. Dear BF organized a surprise dinner, he did not tell me where it was, and oh how I was curious! It was a wonderful restaurant, very romantic, he was lovely! Thank you my love, I love you more tha ever!!!!
But celebrations are not ended, in fact tonight we are off to a dinner and disco with friends. It will be a tri-celebration because two dear friend of mine got the graduation from PhD students to PhD on thursday, same day of my birthday. So tonight we will celebrate not only my birhday, but also their graduation!

But...on my birthday I decided to start stitching...Shores of Hawk Run Hollow. Yes, now I have three Hawk Run Hollow to stitch together, one block each.... am I crazy? I think so! At the end of 2010 I will move to Hawk Run Hollow, indeed!

While I was stitching SoHRH first block, the bell rang and it was the postman...

Two envelopes...

..the first one came from here....

...and inside there was.....

aren't those charts lovely?? But there was also...

an olde chart from 1998 with the "semi naked people" (as Siobhan calls them, LOL!)

But it was not over...the other envelope was from Nicoletta, http://niky-nikyscreations.blogspot.com/

her chart are beautiful, and isn't the packaging lovely?
Not to mention those beautiful thread keepers.. with coffee hand dyed floss which I can't wait to use!

This is my first block of Shores of Hawk Run Hollow as it was last thursday...now I stitched a little more but I'm not done yet...

And, last but not least, my last creations of hand dyed threads...waiting for Autumn!

Enjoy your weekend! :)

A is for..Holly!

"Agrifoglio", or Holly, is finished!

I love monochromatic charts, and especially Renato Parolin charts stitched in DMC 221!

I have already stitched letters B and C, so see you for letter D!
As it is a SAL, where we are supposed to stitch one letter a month, I will have to wait until April to start letter D.
No matter, I will find something else to stitch in the meantime ;)

In stitches,

The Village of HRH - Another block done!

I am so happy! Another finish done. This January is very productive for me on the stitching front, I hope it will last for the whole year :)

This is the second block of The Village of Hawk Run Hollow. My love for this sampler grows while I am stitching it. Everything is perfect, colours, shape, verses...everything

As I am stitching The Village together with Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow, next block will be from Christmas at HRH. I am in 2 SALs on Facebook for both Village at HRH and Christmas at HRW, and it's amazing to see each one's progresses. But, before starting it, I have to finish Renato Parolin's "Agrifoglio" and some other LHN :)

Wow, who would say I'm turning 30 this week? LOL

Happy Monday

Good morning, my name is Sara and I am a serial starter...

I read about this SAL from a Facebook friend, Ornella, who has a blog ( http://latartarugafolle.over-blog.com/ ).

How could I resist? It's the Renato Parolin's "Alfabetario", I blogged about it last year ( http:/celticgreenshamrock.blogspot.com/2009/04/i-love-dmc-221-and-renato-parolin.html ). I have done 4 blocks so far, but getting to 26 done is so long.
With this SAL, I hope to be more regular in stitching those letters. I love them!
We are doing one letter a month, starting from the letter A (really, LOL !, so it will take us about 2 years to finish. Very long SAL!

Letter A is for "Agrifoglio", which is "Holly" in English.
I am stitching all of them in DMC 221.

Enjoy your weekend. I am not feeling very well, some fever and flu. I guess I will stay in bed with blankets and stitching to keep me warm, hoping my headache goes away soon.

Until next time, in stitches

Feeling creative..

...I have hand dyed some threads! I still don't know how I will use them, but I like how they turned out.

The first two skeins from top are called by me "Holiday collection": the first one is Christmas (dark red and green), the second one is Halloween (black, purple, orange).

After hand dyeing, I had the inspiration from three primitive boxes bought this summer in the USA, and I have cut & painted those thread keepers.
Actually, the blue ones are not so light, just blame the camera. Colour is similar to DMC 930, and red ones are similar to DMC 221

Time to come back stitching.
Block II of The Village of Hawk Run Hollow is almost done!

In stitches,
Sara

Again from 2009

I would like to share some other finshes of 2009.

This is a picture of the presents that I gave to dear BF for our 12th anniversary, in November 27th 2009. We spent a weekend in Dublin and it was lovely!
I stitched two Carriage House Samplings charts and a Renato Parolin one. I made three pillows. Then, I added a picture taken this summer at The Joshua Tree Park in California

This one is what I call "Autumn Basket",filled with Prairie Schooler charts, all pillow-finished. Seems like I'm in a pillow period, right? :)
I love this basket, and even if it's Winter is still being displayed in my home!!

Until next time, yours in stitches

Happy New Year! I'm back...

Last time I wrote here I was in the USA, it means it was August, and that means that it's TOO much time!!

Her's some finishes from late 2009 and early 2010.

This is from last year. I stitched those souvenirs for my grandparents who celebrated 60 years of marriage. A big goal, isn't it? :) The souvenirs were for all my relatives.

I started stitching both "Christmas At Hawk Run Hollow" and "The Village Of Hawk Run Hollow", I am stitcing one block each, those are the first two:

Those are Blackbird Designs January Stocking. My birthday is on January 28th so Birthday stocking is perfect. I have stitched only 3 candles because I'll turn 30 this year...

This is my calendar: this is January from Little House Needleworks, I am on February now and I will finish it before January ends :)

This is something I stitched both for me and my friends as a Christmas present: the picture of us in Berlin with this Berlin stitching. Chart is from Kirsten Schmidt, a very nice girl!! The black/yellow/red thread, inspired from Germany flag, was hand dyed by me :)

and as I loved Berlin result, I decided to frame those two 2009 finishes of NY and Philadelphia with the picture of DBF and me :) I am planning to do the same with ROute 66 shield, St.Louis Gateway Arch, Grand Canyon and Joshua Tree Park, places visited this summer :)

I'll try to be more regular in posting here, but you can blame Facebook for my absence :)

See you soon here, stay tuned!
