Tea time! Bugs & Critters at Sunshine Mail

Happy September! It's time for a new Sunshine Mail Foundation Challenge (September 1-15). Our theme is "Bugs & Critters" and the only real rule is that you send in at least one card (it doesn't have to be the card you enter in the challenge; Donation guidelines here).

We are sponsored by Wings and Willows, so I used their Sleep Tight digi stamp:

I just adore this DP by Jillibean Soup; I wish had more from this collection. I've been slowly using this lovely 12x12 sheet. I used some of the scrap to make the flower.

Keeping with the Tea theme, I decided to try my hand at the Teabag-Folding Technique. I used the Kite Fold Flower Tutorial at Sandy's Space.

The Bowl of Sugar and Spoon on the sentiment banner are Starform outline stickers. I cut the piece with an amuse studio die, stamped a sentiment in brown Memento ink, and added a border with a Gold Leaf pen.

Happier than...

It's time for a new Sunshine Mail Foundation Challenge (May 15 - May 31). Our theme is "On the Farm" and the only real rule is that you send in at least one card (Donation guidelines here).

We're sponsored by Wings and Willows; I couldn't resist using their sweet Pig in Mud digi stamp:

I really enjoyed this week's Crafty Cardmakers "Use 3 techniques" challenge; I chose Distressing (inking on the card & image, and distressing on the flowers & leaves with a Prima tool); Embossing (the "mud" is applied with a Versamark pen and heat-embossed with Brown Sugar powder by ZING); and Making your own Flowers (I cut these on my Cricut years ago!).

I colored the image with Copics; I used Blender Solution and Aida cloth to add texture to the grass & grass. The couds are filled with a white glaze pen.

The sentiment is by TLC Creations; it and the image were cut/embossed on my BigShot with Spellbinders dies. I added some yellow Liquid Pearls to the sentiment piece. The flower brads & washi tapes are from my stash.

Wingin' it with Card Cupids - Week 2

It's the second week of Card Cupids' "Wings" Challenge, sponsored by Wings and Willows, and I just had to use their adorable Rainy Day digi stamp again. This time, I colored it with watercolor crayons.

The background & sentiment were made with the Let It Shine set from Verve Stamps. This is such a great set to use for backgrounds; in this case, I heat-embossed the suns in white. I stamped the sentiment in blue and then heat-embossed the sun in transparent yellow on top.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Alphabet Challenge: L … Lace
Craftymess: Sun or Moon
Digistamps 4 Joy: Weather
House That Stamps Built: Outdoors/wildlife

Man, I've been feeling like that duck these past few days ... especially yesterday, when it poured all darn day! I'm not really complaining, though, because it did bring some lovely, cool weather. And after the huge storms a few weeks ago, it was practically a drizzle!

Update: This card won the random prize draw for the Weather Challenge at Digistamps 4 Joy. Thank you!

Wishing you sunny days,

Wingin' it with Card Cupids

It's time for another Card Cupids Challenge! This fortnight we're being sponsored by Wings and Willows, so we have the fun & easy theme of "Wings".

I used Rainy Day by Wings and Willows and the Everyone Needs a Little Rain sentiment by Paper Makeup to make this silly card:

I just love this rubber ducky paper; I've had it for...oh, ever. Years and years. I've also had this ribbon for a long time; maybe a year? The butterflies are cut with Stampin' Up!'s Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die. Wow, I love this product! I colored the debossed polka dots with a Gelly Roll pen. I colored the pearls with a blue Copic.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Inky Impressions Challenge: The Great Outdoors
My Heart Pieces Digital Stamps Challenge: For someone Special [who could be more special than a Card Cupid recipient!]
Pixie Dust Challenge: Rain or Shine
Tammy's Scrapin Corner: Anything Goes

Hope you'll join in with us for this challenge, and be a Card Cupid! The only requirement for our challenges, other than the theme, is to send in at least card to Card Cupids (the simple instructions are here).

Best,
