Have you heard about the Janlynn contest?

Janlynn is having a Dolly mamas contest! (all underlined red words are clickable.) I'm sure you have already seen those ladies with funny sayings like: all I want for Christmas is a nap, who are these kids and why are they calling me mom? or Bite me !!! All you have to do is to buy a Dolly kit at the Janlynn's site and add a dollyism to the design. What does it mean? You get to write your OWN statement !!! I'm sure you have lots of ideas for those. I know the cross stitching world is full of creative ladies and let's be honest about it: our life is full of funny, edgy moments that makes us think things like: Holy crap, now I have to wrap ( always happens to me at christmas time because for an unknown reason I am the official wrapper in the family ... still wonder who gave this tittle ) or it's official, I've become my mother (the scariest of all !!! )

I don't know if you have been to the Janlynn's site lately but they added a Heart of the stitchers (HOTS) where you can buy all you need to complete a cross stitch project or just the charts if you have all you need (it's called : get it my way !!! I love that !). You can add the fabric and what is great is that they sell the Zweigart fabrics which are for me the best fabrics on the market. I just wish they could also add some luganas ( 28 or 32 ct) for the lugana lovers like me !!!

Someone has been bad today ....

Well it's my birthday so I can do whatever I want, right? Actually, I haven't started it yet ... I am only in the process of starting it : I need to change the fabric as I don't like to stitch on linen so I counted the numbers of stitches, I dug in my fabric box to find a 32 count lugana alternative. The original fabric is antique white but on the picture, it appears to be stitched on a white fabric so that's what I chose: a somewhat white lugana. I still need to serge it by hand ... I can't wait to start it but I really need to finish the other one. I'm too reasonable, I know !!!

Talking about my birthday; no, I didn't do anything special and no I didn't get any gifts ... Chuy bought me some flowers and that's it ...

I still backstitches all day long ... I'm pretty sure I even backstitches in my dreams !!! Click to enlarge.

I added more little nuggets! Don't let him go ladies, his pockets are full of these little nuggets !!! Well, there are also the playing card ... I still stitch from top to bottom and right now, I arrived at the miner's feet. I didn't forget a lot of stitches but I did leave a lot of backstitches for later. And now, time has come but I don't mind that much because it also means I'm close to finish it.

Desi, this is what I call my metallic thread disaster (click to enlarge):

I made the (stupid) mistake to keep my metallic thread on the thread organiser ... Big mistake ... Well, I decided those scattered stitches with blended metallic thread were too hard to stitch so I cheated and stitched plain stitches instead ... I don't think anybody will notice and I'm not sure in 10 years from now, I will even remember I cheated ....

Yesterday was my 600 th message ! Can we say I'm talktative?

Bugs bugs me !!!

I've been fighting lice on Emma's head She got those at school, of course I never caught any while at school, Pierre either. Emma has long hair (soon it's going to be shorter ... ) and I think we didn't make her wear a pony tail fast enough to avoid those creepy tiny bugs . And even though she was complaining about her head being itchy, I didn't find anything (mostly because I didn't know what I was looking for ... ) Then when I realised she did have lice, I bought the right shampoo to kill those enemies and of course, change her bedding, put her clothes four days in a bag to make sure those bugs will be dead before I wash the clothes. But you knw the worst thing about it ? She shared her bugs with ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!! So here I was with that oily product on my hair ( ) Of course, I changed my bedding, put my clothes in a plastic bag and today, I discovered 4 lices on Esteban and one on Pierre So tonight, it is an oily night for the guys' head ... (and Chuy will do it too because I regret now having treated the whole family as the same time as Emma ... Lesson learnt the harsh way though ... ) Emma got them first, she "nicely" shared them with me, then shared with Steb (she loves to read to him) and didn't forget Pierre (their heads are so close to each other when one of the three plays the Nintendo DS ...)

Tomorrow we have one of Pierre's friend over which means I have to change their beddings, put the clothes in a plastic bag before the boy arrive. The boy is funny: he asks "is it going to be only me who is going to eat with you or my parents too? " I don't even know the parents so I don't imagine myself inviting perfect strangers for lunch ...

You know I didn't put the ticker to get gifts: it just reminds me that soon, I'm going to get older but thanks for thinking about me It's very nice for me to think you appreciate my blog a little bit Petra, I'm not going to do anything special on my birthday ...

Frogging was again a part of my life last night I had to stitch twice the letters W and E I guess if I was not blogging, I would have gave up a while ago (out of the window, trash can, drying cloth .... )

I'm getting so tired of that stage coach ... that's why I had to stitch some stuffs around: one card, some greys. My hand is getting itchy to start the new Lanarte: I'm glad I have the second one that can slap the unfaithful hand

Wednesday in mid october

I almost got crazy stitching that stage coach wheel last night It's not easy because there are a lot of half points (or maybe because I'm too perfectionist I want the wheel to look like a wheel and not like a smashed pancakes ) I also stitched some black to relax

Today I got the stash I ordered from a Belgium online store that is closing. (scary how more and more cross stitch stores are closing ... ) everything is between 20 and 40 % off , you can pay with Paypal, she seems very serious. So I got my Lili Point chili pepper that I wanted (it's a new release so I should have waited a long time before finding it on sale ) I also got this Ursula Michaels chart, Mrs Snow womand chart by Bobbie G designs and I can now virtually build my needlework shop (don't worry: I'll make sure to have coffee so we can chat while you spend all your money in my shop )

Today my mailbox was so kind, she (yes, my mailbox is a woman) delivered another little fat envelope with this little (only 12 x 14.5 cm - 5 X 6 ") Lanarte birdie ( Celeste )from Ebay :

Edit: I updated my Oh christmas tree blog . No, I didn't progress in that one (I would have told you but Coco did so check her progress. And soon, I'll add Philippe's pictures: yep, a man is stitching this tree too !!!)
