Scrapbook Challenge

This wednesday, the Prettie Girls' challenge was to make a 6x6 scrapbook page using the Pretties' Stamps.  I'm always challenged to use stamps on scrapbook pages.  On cards your stamped image is the main focal point but not so on a scrapbook page, your stamped image is meant to accent your main image (your photo).  In that way, it is fun to make your own embellies from your stamps or think of new ways to use them as backgrounds, etc.  Its good to mix it up once in a while to keep the creativity fresh.
Here's mine:

This is our little Daisy - crooked teeth and all - LOL!  Yep, you guessed it, she was the inspiration for this stamp!
Now, lets see what you come up with!  Upload your cards to the Paper Pretties Challenge Gallery using the keyword PWC81 for a chance to win the $15 gift certificate.  Check the Paper Clip next Tuesday night to see if you won!  Now hop on over to see Jule's and what she came up with for ths fun challenge! September Prettie Peeks!

Today marks the day we are revealing Prettie Peeks for our September 1st.  We will be releasing 5 new sets that we are hoping you are as excited about as we are!
My peek for you today is using our new set GAME ON.  For any of you that have gamer husbands or sons, or brothers this set is a must have.  Ever since we've started on this set, I've had this picture in mind so for my peek I decided to do up this scrapbook page:
Christi Thorsen Pretties Sneak Peek Day 3 073009 001 This is my little Benjamin laying on his belly playing video games with Daddy.  You can see his "bunny" laying to the right of him - also on his belly - lol!  The caption reads Daddy's Little Gamer.  I just love this set and know I'll use it alot for birthday cards when our boys get invited to birthday parties!
Here's a close up where you can see th images a little better:
Daniellebdaycs The set comes with 3 images and 5 sentiments!
Be sure to check out the other prettie girl's blogs to see their peeks and join us on Sept 1st at 8 EST for Stampin In Your Jammies where we'll release all 5 of the new sets! Pin It

Scrapbook Challenge

Danielle issued this scrapbook challenge for the Pretties' Weekly Challenge last week.  Hey, did you know we have weekly challenges - and we give away prizes too - you should check it out!!

This is my Eli.  He LOVES green!!!  This year he got a new jacket and guess what color he picked?  Yeppers!  We even got matching hat, neck warmer, ski pants and mitts!  This jacket is soooo cozy.  Its lined with microfibre fleece and everytime I help him get dressed to go outside, it makes my heart happy to know that he has such a nice warm jacket!!
I was really happy with out this page turned out.  While I wouldn't normally choose colors like this, I was so happy with the finished product!  I used my Snowflake Kisses stamp set (you can see Snowflake has a hat just like Eli's!  I added my snow wheel to the green strip and faux sewed it on.  I used some bella baubles (which hardly show up in the picture) in the same green as the strip and then glued some buttons onto these acetate snowflakes. (the colors are much closer irl).  I finished it off by adding some silver stickles to the center of all my snowflakes (can't see that very good in the pic either).
The chipboard in the bottom is by Queen & Co.
Why don't you find some favorite pics and try our challenge! Pin It

My Last Class

I am just preparing for my last class for a while since I am swamped with Paper Pretties.  I have decided not to take anything else on for a while!  Anyway, I just wanted to upload this pic of this 12x12 scrapbook page I did.  These are my twin boys when they were 10 months old.  They turned 4 this past Monday, my how time flies!  The journalling at the bottom reads "Eli Peeper - 10 months:  You are such a joy, so sweet and sensitive!

Oh Bella

OMGosh.  Okay, I am totally addicted to these stamps.  They are sooooo cute.  These are like Barbies for grown up.  Having said that - how much fun do you think I'm having - WOOOHOOOO.
Here are the cards I have made so far with these stamps.  Check out the album in the column on the left for all the details.
I used the Big Blossom sellabration stamp with some awesome printed paper I pulled out of my cabinet.  Girls just wanna shop!

Here's my tribute to Daisy Duke - what a great girl she was!

OH BABY!  For those of you that have children, can you remember when you were this big?  I sure can and shopping was the only thing that made me feel better (well shopping and bubble baths).

OOOOOOOOOH LA LA
Love this stamp because my engagement ring is a solitaire - remember those days girls.

You're the best!- love this card to give to a girl friend.  Remember getting ready to go out with the girls?

Bling Bling- Love how this card sparkles IRL!

Its a Boy, Its a Boy, Its a Boy, Its a Boy - yep all 4 times and lovin them all!

Holiday Shopping - yeh!!!

Hey Girly!  Let's hit the beach!

Giggles - remember heading out with the girls for a couple of drinks?

Ode to my Wilms - Remind you of anyone?

Tickled Pink - It was a perfect day!!!

Okay - its obvious - did you notice how many times I just said "remember"?  These stamps are definitely reminiscent of earlier days - they are so much fun.  However, I wouldn't trade my life today for anything.  It is perfect, a wonderful husband, 4 beautiful boys, a nice warm house, health - everything I've always dreamed of (but its still fun to play - he he).

VERY busy!!

So, I know everyone is really busy at this time of the year - me included!  I have been working ALOT and stamping a little (insert sad face here).  Anyway, here is the little bit I have managed to accomplish:  I went crazy with this sketch challenge from Splitcoast.

Here are the directions for the card sketch and you can find directions for each of the cards in the card galleries in the left hand column: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=40296&d=1165381026
Then I tried out some of my new whipper snapper stamps - love them as well, okay, what stamps don't I love - LOL!  Here is one of them, much prettier IRL.  The glitter really sparkles!

I also received this first simply sent kit that I ordered.  I was very impressed with it, since when I first saw them I wasn't crazy about them!  I wanted to promote them to my scrapbooking club so I sort of cased and changed the card from the kit and made a 6x6 scrapbooking page.

Lastly, I have been trying my hand at glass etching.  I've done a whole wack of things!  This vase is for a christmas gift (maybe for a lucky little someone who will be reading this, so I can't mention any names).  I also have done a plate with poinsettas for my Grandma, a plate with horses for my mom, and a mug with deer for my dad.

Hope you've enjoyed this little tour of my last month.
As promised I will be uploading a tutorial for the bandaid containers and glitter ornaments in between Christmas and New Years - better late than never - thanks for understanding.
As always, I love to read your comments, questions, suggestions, and feedback!

Baby Benjamin

Okay, so he's really not a baby anymore, he's 2.  Is there anyone else out there who felt like this when their last baby started to grow up.  LOL.  Anyway, I played a bit with these photos - taken by Corrina Walker photography, Calgary Alberta - see link on left-  This is the page I came up with.  The journalling reads:  You are such an amazing little boy.  You bring joy to all who know you. You make us smile every time we look at you.  You are so secure in who God made you to be, you bounce around the house like you are thinking "Glad to be me"!  Your giggle is my favorite sound in the whole world.  You give tighter hugs than anyone & I love it when you grab my cheeks and kiss me.  You are becoming so independant and growing so fast but you will always be my baby.

Fall Fun

Just wanted to post this 12x12 layout that I recently did at a class.  The layout was cased from SCS.  This is our oldest son and I playing in the leaves.  Thought it was a nice time of the year to post this one.
