CCEE Stampers - World Dream Day

Frances ends her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers by telling us that Sept. 25th was World Dream Day.  Our challenge this week is to create a card with someone/something sleeping/dreaming.  This was the perfect challenge for me to try a new technique using the Karen Burniston Family Room die with a floating floor.

The front of my card is rather simple . . .

. . . but it acts as an introduction to the inside.

The sleeping dad is a piece of clip art I found on-line.  Notice that the chair from the Family Room die has been changed into a table.  Karen Burniston showed this technique, and I just had to give it a try.  I thought the dog added a nice touch.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more Dream Day cards.

Florida in the Summer

The other day Frances Byrne had a card on her blog using the new Karen Burniston Family Room die along with a Christmas Tree pop-up.  As I live in Florida, I wondered how the Family Room die would work with a Palm Tree pop-up.

I used the same technique as Frances did -- a Gatefold card, which gives you two folds for the pop-ups.

When you take off the belly band, you can see the entire front of the card.  I used the grass border from Karen Burniston's Nature's Edges border dies and the smaller palm tree.

When you open the card, you get a look at someone's back yard, complete with lawn furniture and the palm tree -- along with their dog.

I want to thank Frances for her inspiration.

Day 2 of Karen Burniston Sneak Peeks - Photo Collage

This is another really fun, well-engineered die set being released by Karen Burniston.  It's the Photo Collage, and I don't know how she managed to figure this out so that all the pieces don't get tied up in a mish-mash.  It's brilliant!

Using the Get Well Charms, I created a fun get-well card, hopefully to cheer up the recipient.

When you open the card, you can see how well thought-out the design of the die was.

The "photos" on this collage are all part of the Get Well Charms set, but the band-aids are an old (very old) $1 stamp I found in my stash.  I improvised a little bit for the prescription bottle up there in the corner.  The bottle part is the Coffee Cup charm, with the Wrapper used as the prescription label.  The lid is actually the dog dish die from the Cat & Dog set.

To show you how well the photo collage unfolds when you open the card, I made a little video.

All of the dies can be pre-ordered from Karen Burniston and will ship mid-July.  Thanks for stopping by my blog today and be sure to come back tomorrow for another sneak peek.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge -- Tiny Accessories

The Karen Burniston Designer Challenge this month is to create a card of any theme but use some of the dies from Tiny Accessories 1 and/or Tiny Accessories 2.  These are two fun die sets!

As Easter is right around the corner, I decided to have an Easter Parade, of sorts, on a Fancy Label Accordion card.  I chose some of Karen's adorable animals and dressed them up for Easter.  I actually took the turkey from Feathered Animals and made him look like a peacock to start the parade.

When you open the card, you will see three lovely couples all dressed up and ready to party.

Aren't they so very fashionable?
