Artful Inkables New Moon Blog Hop

Welcome to our Customer and Design TeamTwilight Artful INKables blog hop! Make sure you start at the Artful INKables Blog, so you don't miss a single thing! To celebrate the release of NEW MOON today, we're highlighting the Artful INKables Twilight inspired sets: Into the Moonlight and Fictionally Inspired. Artful INKables also has a set of Vampire Romance Themed Charms available! Artful INKables is also sponsoring Twilight Tuesday’s Hop that include Twilight Prizes, so be sure to check them out today as well!

When I bought the Nestabilities Labels Seven, it was because it looked just like an open book; and it worked perfectly for this card. I printed the New Moon poster and sized it to fit.

I stamped the pages with several of the stamps from Artful Inkables’ Fictionally Inspired set. As you will notice, Jacob is on one side and Edward is on the other – just like in the books!

Stamps – Fictionally Inspired by Artful Inkables
Ink – Palette Noir Black
Paper – Real Red, Basic Black, GP White, Deja Views Wallflowers DP
Accessories – Labels Seven and Petite Ovals Nestabilities

Stampin'B's Challenge #33 - Red/White/Black & A Moon

Today is the day for which we’ve waited a long time – “New Moon” is released. I bought my ticket two weeks ago! It’s hard to believe that so many “non-teenagers” are all so gaga over a book which was written as a teenage love story. It must be something about the vampires! As the hostess for this week’s Stampin’B’s DT challenge, I couldn’t let the date pass without a New Moon-related challenge: a color challenge (red, white, and black) with a twist (must have a moon).

The trees are stamped in Palette Noir Black on GP White. I used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to line up the horizon line and stamped it twice so that the trees would spread all the way across the white panel. Then I stamped the Stampscapes moon and stippled the sky. Granted, it’s a full moon not a new moon, but I’m thinking it still counts! I stamped the moon again, cut it out, and popped it up. The sentiment is from Artful Inkables Twilight-related set Fictionally Inspired, and I layered the panel with three Petite Ovals Nestabilities. It is stamped with Palette Noir Black and clear embossed.

Stampin'B's Challenge #23 - 3 x 3 Box

Nicole (ButterflyEars) was the challenge hostess this week on the Stampin'B's Design Team blog, and she had a fun challenge for us this week -- to make a 3 x 3 gift box and four matching cards. I had to check out the tutorial in the Resources section of Splitcoaststampers for the directions for a 3 x 3 box. Actually, I think my box came out around 3 1/4 x 3 1/4, but it was close enough.

The base of the box itself is SU Basic Black, covered with some G*C*D Floral Garden DP I had left over from a previous Twilight project. The base of the lid is SU Real Red, covered with Real Red DSP. As a true Twilight fan, I had purchased the two Artful Inkables stamp sets inspired by the Twilight phenomenon – Into the Moonlight and Fictionally Inspired. The image on the box depicts the covers of all four books in the series. Those images appear singly on each one of the covers. I stamped it with Palette Noir Black and colored with Prismacolor and Copic markers, sponging around the edge with Real Red. I cut out the squares with Nestabilities and tied the silver ribbon around the lid.

The four matching cards were quite simple – Flourishes Classic White, SU Real Red, and some more of the G*C*D Floral Garden DP. I had to make the envelopes using my Ultimate Crafters Companion Enveloper – what a great tool! I stamped the back of the envelope flaps with a small flourish from Swirly Q’s by Fiskars. I have already given this gift away to my daughter-in-law, another big Twilight fan.

Featured Stamper - Twilight Inspired

My card for SCS's Featured Stamper challenge this week is a birthday card for my daughter, a BIG Twilight fan, much like her mother!

I admit I had just started making a card when the Featured Stamper for this week was posted. Congrats to Kelly (a/k/a schirmcat)! So I looked through Kelly's gallery to see if I could find a card that had the feel of what I was going for. Voila, I found one -- her Dream Big Batik. I kept the two palm trees and the oval sentiment. What I changed was:

* A seashore scene rather than what looks like a desert
* The color scheme
* I added a second oval sentiment panel

Those of you who have read Twilight will understand the scene.

* Stamps - Beach Life by Flourishes, Fictionally Inspired by Artful Inkables
* Paper - Tempting Turquoise, Night of Navy, Bordering Blue, GP White
* Ink - Palette Noir Black, Night of Navy

* Accessories - Cuttlebug, D'Vine Swirl embossing folder, Prismacolor and Copic markers, Nestabilities

I also made the gift I'm giving my daughter - a charm bracelet, using charm I found on the Artful Inkables site when I was looking at the Twilight-inspired stamps. I have a friend who is much more talented in the jewelry-making department, but I think Kathi will enjoy this bracelet. It has eight charms, all Twilight-related.

Timeless Tuesday and Twilight

Do you remember the Lemon Tree song by Peter, Paul, and Mary? Or are you too young? When I first saw this new set by Flourishes, that's what I thought of. This card is my first with this set -- for this week's Timeless Tuesday Challenge on the Flourishes Newsletter, a sketch challenge. I stamped the smaller lemon tree onto Very Vanilla. Both DPs are from DCWV's new pad called Citrus -- how appropriate. The oval is cut and embossed with an oval Nestabilities die. Instead of ribbon, I used a small strip of cardstock and ran it through one of the new Ribbon Slides from the Flourishes store. The sentiment is from their Sweet Violets set.

* Stamps - Life, Love & Lemons and Sweet Violets, both by Flourishes
* Paper - Very Vanilla, DCWV Citrus DP
* Ink - Palette Noir Black
* Accessories - Prismacolor and Copic Markers, Oval Nestabilities die, Ribbon Slide, Brads

I admit it -- I'm one of those Twilight Fans, a proud member of Team Jacob! I used this week's SCS Technique Lovers Challenge of Faux Denim to show off my favorite character in the Twilight Series, Jacob Black a/k/a the shape-shifting wolf. My faux denim is a combination of Lynn Mercurio's directions for the denim and Ellen Hutson's The Classroom tutorial for the seam. I used my new Scor-Bug to make the stitching holes. I love these new stamps from Artful Inkables, designed around one of my favorite book series.

* Stamps - Into the Moonlight and Fictionally Inspired, both by Artful Inkables
* Paper - Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla, DCWV Textured Blue
* Ink - Palette Noir Black, Brocade Blue, Not Quite Navy, White pigment
* Accessories - Prismacolor and Copic Markers, Sponge Dauber, Brads, Scor-Bug, White Gel Pen
