Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek - Day 2

Today's sneak peek from the new Karen Burniston release is a card made with the new Piano Keys Pop-up.  I am not a musician, but I found this new die such fun.

I like mini slimline cards, and the piano keys fit perfectly in a mini slimline.  On the front of my card are images from another new set, Music Charms, and one of the new stamp sets, Music Sentiments.

When making a full-sized slimline card, you just have to make an additional set of keys and mount them both on the inside of your card.  Later in the week, I'll have an example of this.

Thanks again for visiting my blog.  I'll have more sneak peeks as the week progresses.

Buzzing By to Say Hello

I've got a cute little mini slimline card for you today -- using several Karen Burniston dies, the main one being the new Little Twist Panel.

The front of the card actually features several dies from the Flutter Charms set along with a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps.  And, as you can see, I made a little shaker element out of the honeycomb die.

Also on the front are dies from one of the Border Blends sets and the hello die

The new die (the Little Twist Panel) is on the inside, along with a couple bees from the Flower Pot Pop-Up set.

I carried the Border Blends die-cut inside and added a couple of flowers from the Tiny Trees Pop-Up set to the flags.  The panel on which to sign the card was made using the Crosshatch Ovals.  Both patterned papers used on this card are from Honey Bee Stamps.

This is just a cute little card you could send to anyone just to say "hi."

Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek Day 2

Happy Valentine's Day!  It seemed appropriate that I have another Valentine's Day card for you today.  The second new die set I'm featuring is called the Little Twist Panel Pop-Up   This die set is similar to Karen's original Twist Panel Pop-Up -- only smaller.

The front of my card is very simple -- just the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment.

But the inside shows off the new Little Twist Panel Pop-Up Pop-Up.   This set also includes that cute little banner which weaves its way through the middle panels.

As you can see from this photo, the mechanism for the Little Twist Panel Pop-Up is all in one die.  You can either show the backing panel (as in my card) or cover it with patterned paper (as in the card on the packaging).

All of the new dies in this release will be available on the Karen Burniston website next Monday, February 20th.  I hope you can check them out.

Final Karen Burniston New Release Sneak Peek

I tried a little experiment for my post today.  I made two slimline Halloween cards -- one regular size and the other a mini.  As you can see, they are the same card -- just two different sizes.  On the front is the Slim Pattern Plate - Spiders.  The smaller card has a strip of black on each end, using one of the Border Blends - Trims.  The larger one uses the same pattern plate, but with an additional couple of rows of spiders added.

The insides of the cards are exactly the same, just a bit more room at the edges of the regular-size card.  I used all three elements of the Spider and Bat set, along with a woven strip of black and orange Border Blends - Trim.  I cut one of the spiders from the pattern plate and placed him in the small rectangle where you can sign your name.

Tomorrow is the big day.  You'll be able to order all of the new dies on Karen's website then.

CCEE2218 / KB New Release Day 4 - Hello Dragonflies

Today is National Foam Roller Day, and Kelly asked the CCEE Stampers to show our cards using any rolled technique!  Suggestions were paper rolling, brayers, marbles.  As it is also Sneak Peek Week for the new Karen Burniston dies, I made a card using some new dies -- plus a brayer technique I have never used before:  wrapping rubber bands around a brayer in order to make a unique background.

The new dies that I used are the Short Rectangles Crosshatch and Flutter Charms.  And I'm rather pleased with that background.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Stampers blog to see what the rest of the team did with this challenge and check out the new Karen Burniston dies as well.

Day 1 New Release Sneak Peek - Landscape Rectangle Accordion

The new Karen Burniston dies are right around the corner.  The design team has been working diligently, having so much fun creating with them.    I think Karen's accordion dies are what drew me to her products initially, so I was so happy to see this new Landscape Rectangle Accordion, which makes a mini-slimline card.  My first sneak peek for you is a birthday card made with this set.  The front of the card is a cute little marsh scene with several dies from Bayou Animals.  The flowers forming the frame are actually from another new set -- Short Rectangles Crosshatch.

You can make as many panels on a card as you like.  I chose to make just two for my "hoppy" birthday card.

This new die set includes several small frames with which you can decorate your card.   I'm so excited about this new release and hope you will be as well.

CCEE2211 - Happy Birthday, Frances Byrne!

Frances told the CCEE Stampers that today is her birthday and challenged us to create a card using one or more of her favorite things -- slimline cards, interactive or pop-up cards, owls, the color blue.  I was able to incorporate all four things into my birthday card.

As you can see, I have 1) a mini slimline card; 2) a pop-up on the inside; 3) owls -- both on the front and inside; and 4) the color blue.  The pop-up on the inside is made with the Karen Burniston Little Labels Pop-up, and the owls are from the Feathered Animals die set.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see which of the four things the rest of the team used on their cards.  And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FRANCES!!!

CCEE2205 - Valentine's Day

Liz continues her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this week.  Valentine's Day is a big card-sending holiday so Liz asked us to make a special Valentine's card or a friendship card using a style you love and mail it to someone you love.

Two types of cards I love to make are pop-up cards and slimline/mini slimline cards.  Today's card is both!

I used some brand-new Karen Burniston dies on this card -- the Heart Collage Pop-Up and the Crosshatch - Hearts.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more Valentine's Day love.

One Last Karen Burniston Sneak Peek

Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  Several of the new Karen Burniston dies lend themselves to this holiday of love quite nicely.  I've got a mini slimline card today, showing off the new Mailbox Pop-Up and one of the new sentiments -- Sending Love.

That cute little monkey is also new, half of the Monkey and Lion die set.

This is the last of my sneak peeks, but be sure to check out our Blog Hop on Monday.  You'll get several chances to win a $25 gift certificate to the Karen Burniston web store by commenting on each of the team's blogs.

Another Sneak Peek

I must say that I've been having a great time creating St. Patrick's Day cards with some of the new dies from Karen Burniston, and I've got another one today.  And I've got another one today, but this mini slimline one uses the Heart Collage Pop-up as well as the St. Patrick's Day dies.  I love how you can convert the Gnome & Santa into a leprechaun using the hat from the Good Luck Charms and changing the colors of his hair and clothes.

In addition to the Heart Collage Pop-Up (using some of the Good Luck Charms instead of the hearts) I have some labels from both the Paper Frames Pop-Up and the Crosshatch - Labels, as well as one of the Border Blends on the inside.

This is such a fun release.  The dies will be available to order next week.  And be sure to check out our blog hop on Monday.

CCEE2202 - Penguin Awareness Day

Today is Penguin Awareness Day.  I challenged the CCEE Stampers to put a penguin or two on their cards.  My card has three!

I've recently become a fan of Whimsy Stamps' slimline paper packs, and the one I used on my card today is from a pack called Frozen. This is a mini-slimline card, so I cut down the paper to fit the 3 1/2" x 6 1.2" card. The Paper Nest Dolls penguins look right at home on those ice floes.

When you open the card, there's a little surprise.  The penguins jumped off the ice floes onto a a snow bank and have popped up on the Karen Burniston Little Labels Pop-Up die.

CCEE2141 - Mini Slimline Card

Just like Slimline Cards, Mini Slimline Cards are also becoming very popular.  So Frances asked the CCEE Stampers to create a Mini Slimline Card.  Typically Mini Slimline Cards are either 3 1/2" x 6" or 3" x 6".  More information on Mini Slimline cards can be found in the files section of the Slimline Card Addicts Facebook Group.

For my card I pulled out an old Stampin' Up stamp set called Four Feathers and a new-to-me Gina Marie set called Tribal Stitched Mini Slimline dies.

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for more mini slimline cards made by the team.

C4C595 - Mini Slimline Card

Just like Slimline Cards, Mini Slimline Cards are also becoming very popular.  For our challenge this week, the Crazies were to create a Mini Slimline Card.  Typically, Mini Slimline Cards are either 3 1/2" x 6" or 3" x 6".  More info on Mini Slimline Cards can be found in the Files section of the Slimline Card Addicts Facebook Group.

I used another one of the Whimsey Slimline background papers on my card, cutting it down to fit a Mini Slimline Card.  This set of papers is called Enchanted Forest.  Those cute little Lawn Fawn gnomes are just the right size to walk down that path.
