CCEE1519 - Self-Made Flower & More

New month -- new CCEE Challenge hostess.  Joanne is our hostess for the month of May, and she is making us bring out all our tools this month.  This week she wants us to use an embossing folder, some brads, and a hand-made flower.  I decided once again to give quilling a try.  I've done this a couple of times, with varying degrees of success -- but I've never really been happy with the results.  My quilling efforts on today's card is probably better than previous tries, but still not great.  I do like the colors though!

Check out the CCEE Stampers Blog to see how the rest of the team answered Joanne's challenge.

Tutorial Time - Quilling

I almost dreaded this Tutorial Time challenge for this week.  I had tried Quilling several years ago with no great success.  But I decided to give it another go.  Lis Robson wrote the tutorial, which you can find here.  Card Maker magazine has an on-going column on quilling, so between the tutorial and the article I thought I might be able to come up with something acceptable.  Here is my result, which is actually better than my first try:

How about giving it a try yourself.  Link your card up on the challenge over on Speedy TV.  You might win a free stamp set.
