CCEE2216 - Spring Garden

Liz finishes up her month as CCEE Stampers hostess by asking us to give a peek at what we have planted in our spring gardens.  We were to feature our favorite blossoms on our creations.

I must start by explaining that I have a brown thumb and am not much of a gardener.  Anything that grows in my yard does so by their own efforts.  I did plant a hibiscus bush in my back yard about 20 years ago, and amazingly it's still thriving.  So I pulled out a Rubbernecker stamp I bought quite a while ago and used it on my card.

Be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see what the rest of the team has growing in their gardens.

CCEE1929 - Stencils

Vicky's challenge this week for the CCEE Stampers goes like this -- "If you're like me, you have lots of stencils.  I have a drawer full that I never think of.  Get one of those out that you haven't used (or haven't used in ages) and put it to good use."  I love this challenge.  I was recently at the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo and saw a card in the Rubbernecker booth that I loved.  It used a Rubbernecker stamp/die set, another die, and a stencil.  Fortunately, I had the Rubbernecker stamp/die set but neither the other die nor the stencil used on the card.  I finally located the die on-line, but it was no longer available; and I never could find the stencil.  But I had a Memory Box die that I thought could work, and I had just ordered a stencil from Kindred Stamps that I knew would work.  So, as soon as the stencil arrived in my mail, I made this card.  I love it!!!

I'm anxious to see what the rest of the team has created; and, if you'd like to see them too, stop over at the CCEE Stampers blog and take a look.

Another Karen Burniston Sneak Peek - Triple Flip

Today's sneak peek at one of the new Karen Burniston dies is another card made with the Triple Flip die.  How fun is this one!!!   My daughter loves anything nautical, so chances are she will wind up with this card.   The images are from a couple of Stampendous and Rubbernecker stamp sets.

Aptly named the Triple Flip because there are three panels on the front of the card . . .

. . . which, when you pull that little arrow/tab, flip over to reveal three more images.

I don't always finish the inside of a card when I initially make it, but this time I did -- carrying the nautical theme in there also.

I must warn you:  this die is very addicting.  I have made a bunch of cards using it.  I'm sure you'll be seeing more of them in the very near future.  These dies will be shipping in mid-July, so you've got some time to think of how you'd like to use them.

Some Fun Cards

I recently attended the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Orlando.  It is so fun to see all the new products that vendors have to show us.  Of course, I made many purchases, and I've been playing with lots of my new toys.  Here are a few cards I've made with some of them.

I always love to visit the Heartfelt Creations booth.  Their new Butterfly Dreams collection is so pretty.  I fell in love with the border stamp and die from that collection.

I purchased quite a bit from the It's Cheaper Than Therapy booth.  I used two of my purchases on this card -- the Sleigh Pop-Up die set and Winter Animals die set from Karen Burniston.

I also visited the Rubbernecker booth, where my friend Kittie was demonstrating her talents.  I purchased a couple of cute fish-related stamp sets, which I combined with a set from Gerda Steiner, which I already had.  I made a pop-up box card with a little twist . . .

. . . the front panel is cut out and acetate added so you can see the inside.

I hope to have some more fun real soon with the rest of my purchases.
