Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge

For the first Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge of the year, I made a Valentine Treat Box with a bonus --  it's also a gift card holder.  I found this tutorial on-line some time ago and made several of them for Christmas.  But I thought it would be cute for Valentine's Day as well.

The image on the front is a cute little gal from Paper Nest Dolls.  I thought that heart-shaped lollipop would be good for Valentine's Day.

When you open the card, you find the gift card.

And going a little further, when you pull out the drawer -- CANDY!  Who doesn't love Hershey Nuggets?

If you'd like to try to make one of these, they're pretty easy.

Dimensions are:

Drawer - card stock 5" x 7 1/4", scored on all four sides at 1/2" and 1 1/8"

Wrap - cardstock 5 1/8" x 7 5/8", scored at 5/8", 3 1/2", 4 1/8" and 7"

Card on top - cardstock 4 3/4" x 7", scored at 2 2/8" and 4 3/4" -- cut down the 2 1/4" panel to 2 1/2" for the gift card and tape across the bottom.

Mat piece on front 2 5/8" x 5"

Nugget covers 1" x 3"

Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge

Christmas is right around the corner, so now is the time we need to start our Christmas crafts.  A nice little gift for anyone is a treat box filled with goodies -- Kit Kat bars are some of my favorites.  I found a thread on Splitcoaststampers in which the author went to a lot of trouble creating .pdf files with instructions for various-sized nugget boxes.  I chose the 8-short size, which I thought would hold three snack-size Kit Kat bars.  And I was right!

I think these will make nice stocking stuffers at Christmas.

C4C607 - See Through

The challenge for the Crazy4Challenges team this week was to use vellum or acetate on our cards.  Easy challenge!  My project, however, is not a card; it's a Halloween treat box, made with the Creek Bank Creations Tunnel Card die.  After cutting out the "wrap around" panel using the die, a piece of acetate is glued in the opening.

They also have a die for the drawer part, but I was able to create it without using a die.

Check out the Crazy4Challenges blog for some more "see through" projects.

Score-Pal "More Than One Score" Challenge

It's the first of the month again, time for the Scor-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge.  I recently saw a video by Wendy VanArtsdale in which she made a cute little treat box and decided that it would be perfect for a Scor-Pal challenge.

This is actually the second one I've made -- the first was for my daughter and was full of mermaids.  This one is full of flowers and butterflies.   Isn't that the cutest little box?

But the fun begins when you take off the lid and open the box.

You can fill it with all sorts of small goodies -- chocolate is the best though!

Check out the Scor-Pal Blog for some more fun creations from our super-talented team.

CCEE2011 - Party Favors

Maryann continues as hostess for the CCEE Stampers and asked us to create a bag, box or container that can be used to contain a party favor.  I'm sure like me, you've made lots of party favor containers.  I wanted to try something new, so I looked through the tutorials on Splitcoaststampers for one that I've never made before.   Success!! I found the directions for this cute Ice Cream Sandwich Box,

When you open the lid there are sections for some Hershey Nuggets and a Gift Card.  How cute is that!!!

I used dies from Karen Burniston's Ice Cream Sundae die set and some fun patterned paper for the elements of this cute box.  Note the gift card.  Culver's recently opened about a mile from my house.   Have you ever tried their Lemon Crumble Frozen Custard?  Absolutely delish!!!

Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for some more examples of party favors.

Galactic Adventures Candy Box

My Kindred Stamps non-release week set for March is Galactic Adventures.  Space geek that I am, this was the first Kindred Stamps set that I purchased -- and I've never looked back.  I've decided that for this month's blog posts, I'm going to make something other than cards.  For today's creation, I've made a treat box using a Laughing Cow cheese box.

If you've never made one of these, I'll give you a quick lesson.  It's pretty easy.  And you'll be able to have a healthy snack along the way!!!

After you've eaten all eight wedges of cheese, you'll be left with the box.

Using some spray paint, give both sections of the box a good coat of paint.  I actually put two coats on my box pieces.

Using the largest dies from both Spellbinders Petite Scallop Circles and Standard Circles, I cut and decorated the layers for the inside and outside of my box.  The patterned paper is from a marvelous pad of paper I bought at Hobby Lobby called Stargazer.  It works so well with all three of the Galactic Adventures sets.

After allowing the paint to dry for a couple of hours, I put the circle pieces onto the cheese boxes.

I added a strip of thin glittery purple washi tape to the outside rim of the top and bottom of the box, and it was finished.

You could put any type of treat into this box; just make sure it is thin so the box can close snugly.  The Ghiradelli candies were perfect.

"More Than One Score" Challenge - Treat Holders

This month's challenge on the Scor-Pal blog is Treat Holders.  Halloween is at the end of the month, so that's where I went with my project.  I found a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers for an acetate box.  Here is the link - Acetate Box.  I found some fun jack-o-lantern paper and used a new die from CottageCutz called Happy Toad Wizard.  Of course, I had to fill it up with candy that I like!  Hershey's Kisses with Almonds -  yum!!!

Here's a close-up of the box.

Check out the Scor-Pal blog for some other treat holders you might like to try.  And, in case you'd like to try some other boxes, the Scor-Pal website has lots of tutorials.

And today is the last day of our Trick or Treat Blog Hop.  My first treat holder is called a pull-up candy holder.  It holds a candy bar.

When you pull the ribbon, out pops the candy bar!

The MFP Stamp Shop set used on this candy holder is Witchie.

I also made some cute little fold over treat holders.

They're called Peek-a-Boo holders because when you open the lid, you can see the candy peeking out of a hole.  I applied two little strips of Scor-Tape to hold the York peppermint patties in place and some repositionable Tombow adhesive to hold the covers shut.  You could also put small pieces of Velcro to hold the covers closed as well.

The MFP Stamp Shop set used on these treat holders is I'm Going Batty.

Today's treat holder is a flat-backed candy holder.  The candy goes in that little section at the bottom, which also serves to hold the card upright.  I added some cute little Halloween button embellishments.

The MFP Stamp Shop set used on this card is the mini Vroom set.

I also made some cute little matchbook candy holders.

This photo shows them opened up.

The MFP Stamp Shop sets used on these bags are What a Scream set and the mini Broom Rides set.

I've got another couple of Halloween treat holders for you today.  The first one is a card with candies in a holder on the side.

Here's the inside of the card.

The MFP Stamp Shop sets used on this treat holder card are I'm Going Batty and What a Scream.

I also made some cute little matchbox treat holders, using a Sizzix/Stampin' Up matchbox die.  One has a punched-out opening showing the treats inside, and the other is decorated with patterned paper.

The MFP Stamp Shop set used on both of these treat holders is the mini Broom Rides set.
