Colorful Tri-Shutter Card

My card today is full of bright sunny colors -- and lots of folds!   The Score-Pal "More Than One Score" challenge for May is to use your favorite color combination.  I'm not sure I have a favorite combination (there are so many good ones), but orange is one of my favorite colors.  Yellow, orange, and lime green make a "happy-looking" combination, so that's what I chose.   I used a die/stamp set and several other dies from CottageCutz.

Supplies used on today's card are:

Yellow cardstock - 12 x 5 1/2"
Lime green for the mats
Patterned paper for the panels
Scraps of orange and black for the sentiment and butterfly
Copic markers
Scor-Pal
Foam pop dots
CottageCutz dies - Marigolds - October (stamp/die set), Happy, Birthday, Double-stitched Ovals, Spring Butterfly 1

Cut the yellow cardstock to 12" x 5 1/2" and score on the 2", 4", 8", and 10" marks.

Place the panel in your paper cutter with the long edge at the 1 1/" mark.  Cut a slit from the 2" scoreline to the 10" scoreline.  Rotate 180 degrees and cut the same way on the other side.

Fold on the scorelines as shown in the photo.

I used the card base and traced around the end T-shape section and cut a template.  I then cut 1/16" around the edge to make a template for the mat piece, and again another 1/16" to make a template for the patterned paper piece.

Cut the mat and patterned paper pieces as follows:

Lime green - 4 pieces 1 3/8" x 1 7/8", 2 pieces 1 3/8" x 3 7/8", 1 piece 2 3/8" x 3 7/8", and one piece using the larger of the two T-shaped templates.

Patterned paper - 4 pieces 1 1/4" x 1 3/4", 2 pieces 1 1/4" x 3 3/4", 1 piece 2 1/4" x 3 3/4", one piece using the smaller of the two T-shaped templates.

Layer and adhere the patterned paper to the lime green pieces.  Adhere to the card base.

Stamp and color the marigolds onto white cardstock and then cut all the die-cut pieces.

Apply the die-cut pieces to your card, and you're finished.

This is such a fun card to make.  I hope you'll give it a try.

NOW...
Let's get started HOPPING !!

Here it is -- the final day of this month's Blog Hop.  My first card for today is a tri-shutter card, which I really think is a fun technique.

The MFP Stamp Shop sets that I used on this card are the Autumn Friendship mini set and the Autumn Glory set.

I have a second card for today.  Autumn is for football!  Today is my son's birthday.  He is (as am I) a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins.   I pulled out a fun set to make this Center Step card using the colors of the Dolphins.   A little paper-piecing allowed me to have their logo on the grill.  I hope he likes this card!

The MFP Stamp Shop sets used on this card are Tailgate Party and the Celebrate Mini set.

Now it's time to visit the rest of the hop.   Here's the Design Team:

Lois (that's me)
We hope you have enjoyed the Hop and have been inspired! Get to work on the tutorials and show  us what you make by 3pm CT today  and don't forget to be commenting! Come back to the MFP Stamp Shop Blog on Aug. 27th to see if you are a winner!!

Scor-Pal More Than One Score - Mother's Day/Special Lady

This month's Scor-Pal More Than One Score challenge is hosted by Toni Storie.  She asked us to make a card honoring our mother or another special lady in our life.  My mom died last year, but I will be remembering her on Mother's Day.  I made this card in her honor.

Check out the Scor-Pal Blog to see what the rest of the team has done to honor that special lady.

I can't believe it's Friday already.  Here are my cards for today.  BTW, today's set is my favorite of the release.  I used a honeycomb stencil for the background of my standard card . . .

. . . and some bright and cheery patterned paper for my Joy Fold card.

As I said earlier, today's set is my favorite one this month.  So I have made a bonus card with it and will enter this card in Scor-Pal's More Than One Score challenge for April, which is to make a monochromatic card.

Thanks for taking the time to join us for our Blog Hop this month.  I hope you have gotten lots of inspiration.  Be sure to check out the rest of the team.

I'm not an official part of the Blog Hop today, but I did make something to show you.  I decided that, rather than use today's sets as purely paper dolls, I would make some cards using a fun fold that I really like, the Tri-Shutter Card -- one for each set.  Here they are:

Now, make sure you check out the official Blog Hop and don't forget to comment often for a chance to win one of this month's release sets.

Here's the Design Team for today:

Come on back tomorrow for more creativity.
