Screen Door Heart

We have one of those screen doors that click together with magnets ...
It works wonderfully, but only lasts a year or so (good thing they're cheap!), and it's almost time to replace last year's with a new one.

I hated to do it, though, when I found this!

Yummy Sandwich Heart

The other day I was making a sandwich for lunch ...
When I came across this air bubble in my bread ...

Eat Your Heart Out ...
Takes on a whole new meaning!!!

Mothers Day Postcard

I love this postcard of a mother polar bear with her new cub.
With Mother's Day right around the corner, I thought this was perfect!
Where's a heart, you ask?
Well, if you really stretch your imagination, I suppose this mother bear's face is kinda-sorta heart shaped!
But most of all ... this beautiful picture warms MY heart!

I'm linking this up with Beth's "Postcard Friendship Friday"!

((P.S. sissie ... just you wait til it's YOUR turn to celebrate another year!!!))

Guest Heart Thursday #208

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

Judy captured my heart long ago with her incredible photography, and her blog, "Lilac Gate".

Earlier this week, Judy posted a bunch of pictures of her hoya plant which was "blooming its heart out". And if you look carefully at these floret clusters ... you will see several of the florets really do have hearts hiding right there in plain sight!!!

Thank you, Judy, for sharing your heart!

As always - a huge thank you to all who found hearts last week. I can't wait for you to link up today ... and show everyone the amazing hearts you found in your world this week!!!

Cherry Blossom Heart

The cherry blossoms are gone now ... blown down in the wind and rain.

But before they faded completely ... they left me a heart!

Mom's Shoe Heart

Mom came in fussing the other day ... seems she found some newts in the fish pond.
Now usually we don't mind critters in the fish pond.
That's kind of what it's for.
But newts are something else. They are similar to salamanders, but live in the water. They lay eggs by the bazillions, and by the time you notice a couple of them invading ... they've already eaten all the fish eggs, frog eggs, baby fish ... pretty much taking over and killing everything else.

So we catch them in a net and relocate them to a wetland area nearby where they can live in peace, and thrive. Just NOT in our fish pond!

Well, seems mom decided to catch these newts no matter what the cost, and waded on into the water with her shoes on.
She caught 3 newts in one swing!
But her shoes were soaked.
She took them off by the fireplace ... it took 3 days for them to dry!

Three days of looking at this cute tennis shoe heart!
I think it was worth it!

Heart Healthy

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my sister and her family during their terrifying chimney/house fire. They are okay (even Toez the cat is fine!), but have a lot of clean-up to do ...

And look what appeared in the salad last night!
(Thanks mom!)

Horseradish on Rye Makes Heart

I was squirting some horseradish sauce onto my bread to make a sandwich the other day. The bottle was nearly empty and started splooching air pockets.

And look - I made a heart!
(I didn't mean to make a heart - it just ended up that way)

Guest Heart Thursday #190

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

Just a note today ... due to inclement weather conditions in my little computer corner, my hands and feet are just too cold to spend more than a couple of minutes here today.

Our "arctic blast" is due to blow out this afternoon, when it will get above freezing for the first time in a week and a half - and not a moment too soon!
This morning, however, there is freezing fog up to 2" deep ... and there might even be some freezing rain a little later.

I look forward to spending more time visiting the hearts you have found these past few weeks, and getting caught up on my reading.

In the meantime, please visit a late-week addition to last weeks Guest Heart Thursday -
Ileana's post "Trees With Ivy" - and see the amazing tree heart she found!

I look forward to things returning to "normal" next week!!!

As always - a huge thank you to all who linked up with Guest Heart Thursday last week. I loved seeing the delightful and amazing hearts you found in your world!!!

Autumn Hearts are Here ...

The wind and rain have stripped most of the leaves from the trees ...

It's now the Heart of Autumn!

Double Hearted Leaf Chew

I love it when insects chew heart-shaped holes into leaves.

I was taking a picture of one of the hearts, when I realized there are actually 2 hearts in the shot!

Gotta love those "hearty" bugs!

Laura found the heart in this post by "Maboe". Do you see it? It may help to click on the photo to enlarge it, then look to the right side of the wall opening ... it's a perfect heart on an incredible photo!

Thank you, Maboe, for sharing your heart!
Thank you, Laura, for sharing the link!

One thing led to another as I investigated Maboe's blog ... I found a link to "These Temporal Rooms", and this incredible photo called "Flash". I was immediately entranced by the amazing shot ... and the leafy hearts!

Thank you, Temporal Rooms, for sharing your heart!

I was also entranced by this stunning glowing leaf heart that was linked to last weeks GHT by "Love That Image - Sara's Fave Photos". The colors ... stunning!

Thank you, Love That Image, for sharing your heart!

I love how Beth (AKA Sissie!) hides hearts in her incredible artwork. How many do you see hidden here?
Check out "Beth's Artworx" to see more of this talented lady's artwork!

A Tree Heart

The tree stands just beyond the fence,
Helping to shade Sissie's back yard ...
I think it likes to be there!
Don't you?

Hungry Heart

I was reaching to get a biscuit from the bag, when I noticed the heart!

After I took the shot, I had a wonderful biscuit with my dinner!

Cloudy Heart

When you look up at the cloud-strewn sky, what do you see?

Do you see hearts???

I do!

The Last Heart ...

The big machines have been munching away at "The Abandoned" for over a month now. What was once a huge mega-church complex made of poured-in-place concrete and rebar is now just several gigantic piles of rubble, and a few large holes (like where the swimming pool used to be) ...

I found this small piece of graffiti-covered broken concrete in the debris, and knew it was probably one of the last hearts I would find in this huge demolition site.

But you never know where hearts will appear!
And I will keep looking.
Always.

Easter Sunrise ...

A special Easter sunrise heart ...
Captured from my front door this morning.

Happy Easter to all ...
May your heart be blessed today.

Picnic Table Hearts

The picnic table under the trees has been mostly quiet through the winter.

The hearts carved since it was painted last spring seem stark and cold.

Waiting for a new coat of springtime paint ...
Which may or may not erase them completely.

A Hearty Pothole

When life is full of muddy potholes ...

Keep your eyes open for hearts!!!
