~Thank You

Our skating carnival was on Sunday and I wanted to make Thank You cards for everyone that needed them...that meant I needed 18!!
March24_2012_DC
I used Jen's sketch  #44 for my layout and got to work. I cut all of the layers first and them assembled them and really it didn't take that long.  Now what took a long time was these fun new thingies I bought from Blitsy...They are called Candi and are made out of paper..."just like brads but legless" just like the main site says. My chubby fingers and not much finger nail had a heck of time getting the wee pop square on them then take the backing off then stick em all down!!  Anyway, I think they turned out great and everyone loved them, so they were definitely worth the work!

Off I scoot...the laundry piles in my bedroom are calling my name!

Have a super fun crafty kind of day!

Thinking of You-CP57

Unfortunately I needed a bunch of sympathy cards this week.  Lance and his Dad attended a service on Monday and Lance's Great Aunt in Germany passed away as well, so I wanted to send a note to Lance's cousin's overseas.

April2_2010_CP57

The papers are CTMH-Verdana, stamp set from SU, butterfly is Martha Stewart and ribbon is CTMH.  I used the Card Patterns sketch # 57 which was from last week, but I liked the sketch and it worked for what I was making, so I went with it although it's too late to enter the challenge.

This one os my favorite out of the 2 that I made, I'll show the other one next week.

Thanks for visiting!

Dutch Dare #73-Color Inspiration-MTSC64

A super fun challenge over at the Dutch Dare blog today!
  This great color inspiration picture...

and here is my card...

March9_2010_DDCC73-MTSC64_3

Now I have done it in brown, but some have chosen black too...it's really hard to tell in the pict and the only reason I knwo it's brown is because I have actually seen this shirt in real life and it is a chocolate brown color...but black is pretty close!

I used a super cute  image from Mo Manning and the bee and butterfly are part of the Sketchy Bugs set (you also get a pretty dragonfly too) from Prairie Fairy

All papers are SU! Punch is EK Success and rhinestones are from Michaels.  I added stickles to the bees wings and the butterfly and then shimmerz to the bee's body.

The sketch is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge # 64 from this week, love it!

I also wanted to mention that I have added a **Stamps For Sale** page at the top of my blog....I only have a few stamp sets in there right now, but will be adding to it as I get my craft room organized a bit, so if you are on the lookout for some stamps at really great prices, check it out.

I have a jam packed week and a half coming up here.  I am the president of the skating club and our carnival is on the 20th, so I have a  bunch of stuff to do for that, skating tomorrow and ball registration, birthday party and hair appointment Friday, not to mention a day of for the kids, birthday party and school for the kiddos on Monday, finishing up any last minute carnival crafts Wed with my friend (and very fabulous VP of our skating club and Carnival Coordinator!) Amy, dress rehearsal Thurs, decorating Friday night and then carnival next Sat...so I may not be visiting as much until after this is all done, but will definitely be back full swing as soon as March 20th is here and gone.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Heartfelt Sympathy~SSSC#52

Wow, it's been a super long time since I've pulled out a SU! set let alone making a total SU! card, but here we are.

January19_2010_SSSC52

I used Karen's great Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #52 from this week for my layout, SU set called Close to a Memory and all SU paper...I forget the name of this paper, but I used Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss cs with it.

I added another sentiment from the same set on the inside of the card as well.  It's always so hard to figure out what to write on the inside of sympathy cards, so I thought at least it's partly done for me now that I added this verse.    Lance and his Dad are going to Calgary this afternoon for a funeral and this is the card I made to send along with them.

Well off I scoot, Landon is sick (I think just a cold) and has been sleeping since 7pm, so I have a feeling it may be a long night!  I'm not sending him to school tomorrow so at least we can hang out in our jammies together...after we take Kirsten to school that is!

Thank you for taking the time to visit me!

Snowy Wishes~Get Sketchy 14~C4C11

Oh how I love this image.  It's from Mo Manning and it makes me smile!

November14_2009_GetSketchy14_C4C11

I used this weeks sketch from Get Sketchy as well as the bonus item was to use markers and I did, I colored this guy in with my Copics.  The acetate snowflake from Heidi Swapp will also work for the Crazy 4 Challenges this week which is to use acetate!

All of the ppaer and ribbon is from SU!, the acetate snowflake is Heidi Swapp and the white snowflake button is from CTMH.  I added stickles to the acetate snowflake, around the snowman, for the snowy ground and I painted some Shimmerz onto the white button.

Had a nice quiet weekend, just caught up on some laundry and such.  Lance is out of town all week coming up, so it was nice to just hang out together.  The kids and I are about to watch the new Tinkerbell movie while Lance is having a snooze....off I go!

Thanks for visiting!

Winter Wishes

It seems like I'm turning into a night poster maybe! It's just an easier time for me to have a bit of time to sit down and actually write a post, so if you see more posts appearing at night instead of in the morning, that's why!

I stumbled upon a new challenge blog and although it's not new to the blogging world, this is the 53rd challenge, but it's new to me. It's called Eat, Sleep, Stamp and she has some wonderful sketches. Again, I am just in under the wire but here is my card for ESS # 53.

I used Mimo is Christmas from Bunny Zoe's and the bear is actually colored, but it's Copic color W00 so it doesn't show up very well in the pict..it is super light anyway.  The dsp and cs is SU, the ribbon is from a Taylored Expressions grab bag, the rhinestones are Basic Grey Bling It and the snowflake charms are from Bunny Zoe's as well.

Like I said yesterday this is my last day as the September Guest Designer for Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the fabulous Nikki for giving me this great honor!  It was wonderful!

Yay, I'm Finally Finished!

Well I'm sure most of you won't be as excited about this as I am, but I am finally finished my sister's wedding thank you cards! I had 50 to make and time just ran away on me added to the fact I really didn't take into account how much time it takes to heat emboss 50 images and color 100 flowers, add pearls the the center of every flower and just general assembly of a project of this size.  I wasn't able to get them all finished before the wedding (a week ago), but they are now all done and bundled up nicely.

3 Uncles, 1 Aunt and 1 cousin are still out from Ontario (1 is actually from BC)  and are going back on Sunday, so we are having a BBQ at my parents tomorrow and I will bring these for my sister then.

Today is the last day of school before the long weekend and I'm sure Kirsten is excited about that...me too, hopefully we can sleep in a bit.

Here is a pict from the first day of school....

 And at the bus stop...

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, here in Canada (and the US) it's Labour Day long weekend, so Monday is a holiday, yay!

Thanks for stopping by!

*Autumn Splendor* Bunny Zoes Crafts GD-Sept

I am so very excited to share with you my first GD card for Bunny Zoe's Crafts. I really didn't know where to start after I received my goodies, so Autumn is is.

The image is from the Autumn 1 set from Ollyfant. I thought this little girl is so sweet! I paired it with some paper I won in a blog candy from Lacey, I'm pretty sure its SU paper, but not sure of the name of it. These fabulous buttons are from the Cappucino set and some of them even have glitter in them, very pretty if I say so myself! I also added a touch of Gold Lace Ribbon to finish it off. The sentiment is from CTMH. There is a sweet little boy in this set as well, so I'm sure you'll be seeing him before too long as well.

The watermark on the front is also my handmade by label on the back of my card (I just forgot to take a pict) and they are also available from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the rubber version that is, from Scrapmagasinet:-)

I decided to color with my Prismacolor pencils which I haven't done in forever, but was pleased with the way it turned out. I added some highlights here and there with some Twinkling H2Os as well.

The sketch is an older one from Heather and I'm not exactly sure if it was for a specific challenge a while ago, but I liked the layout so I decided to use it again.

That's all for me for today! I have a playschool meeting tonight as I am on the board this year, so I will find out when Landon starts and all that good stuff.

Thanks for visiting me today. Now that school is back in I should be back on a more regular basis!

Hugs,

Wedding Thank You For My Sister

Time is ticking away and it's getting closer to my sister's wedding this August. I made some thank yous for her to use and this is the one she decided on....I think...for now!

I used Very Vanilla and Elegant Eggplant SU cs, a beautiful shimmery grey paper from a scrapbook store in Ontario. I used SU Baroque Motifs and embossed it in silver and then added some small flowers in Elegant Eggplant and the EE bridal flowers as well (they wre ivory, I just used my Copics to color them. The sentiment is from CTMH and is stamped in EE. They are really pretty and other than the embossing, quite simple, so it will be easy enough to make 45-50 of them!

Off to get some supper ready for the kiddos, Lance is roping tonight so it'll be something quick!

Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful weekend!

A Pajama Party-High Hopes #38- AMRYTFS3

Lance went roping this morning for a while so I had a chance to get a card made! I made this one for the High Hopes Challenge # 38 brought to us by Crissy and the challenge is to use Lots and Lots of Polka Dots! I also used the sketch from Amy's Prarie Paper and Ink that is actually created by Tammy Fielder of Layout In The Sun. A fun sketch for sure although I had some trouble with it, but I will be using it again for sure!

I used a super cute stamp (as well as the sentiment) from High Hopes called Crissy's Snuggle Bear. All paper is from SU and definitely full of polka dots!

Hope you're having a fabulous Sunday, thanks for stopping by!

DDCC # 54-A Triangle Card

It's a fun one this week over at Dutch Dare. We are asking you to make a "triangle card". Interpret that however you like, but join in and have fun with it!

Here's my triangle card:

I used all SU paper, a fun image from Scrapmagasinet that I bought from Bunny Zoe's, some primas, spacers, a fun dragonfly charm and some great pink jute ribbon from Bunny Zoes as well. Let me tell you, if you haven't had a chance to check out Nikki's new store, you really must. She has a ton of fun items and adding new stuff all the time, service and shipping is super fast. Although these stamps come from Norway, they arrived the same day as the rest of my order!

Anyway, my Mom and I are headed to Lethbridge this afternoon so Iw on;t be back until late Friday. Saturday morning is the Bassano Rodeo parade and since it is a hometown parade, we don't miss it. Lance is roping as well and then we are off to my sister's for a BBQ. Sunday we are back to the rodeo grounds as they have some fun kids events like sheep riding and such, so Landon is all over that for sure! Monday we are heading out for a camping trip until next Friday, so I will be pretty hit and miss on the blog the next week or so.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by...don;t forget to enter my blog candy above!

Forget-Me-Not-SNSSOA

I really love the digi image (from Sweet n Sassy) that is a freebie (only a $5 donation gets you some fun freebies) right now (only until tomorrow at midnight) over on the Stampin Out Alzheimer's site and wanted to take part in the Sweet N Sassy card challenge.

I popped up the largest flower as well as the bud on the bottom and the sentiment. All paper is from SU Raspberry Tart and Kiwi Kiss cs. I also added some glitter with my spica glitter pen to the insides of each flower and on the sentiment as well.

The kids had a fabulous time at the birthday party today. It was such a nice day that everything was outside! They ran through the sprinkler and played on a fun inflatable water slide and pool thingie, it was awesome!

I am wiped tonight, so I am going to hit the hay, but I hope to finish up another SOA challenge or 2 by the deadline!

Thanks for visiting and leaving such lovely comments, they make my day! And a note to all my lovely stalkers...leave me a comment and I'll come visit you!

Kristy & Jason's Wedding Invitations

Wow, it is absolutely crazy how fast this week off school is going. Kirsten goes back on Monday, but only for 1 day. The kindergarten is moving into the brand new part of the "big" school, so they will be moving the classroom and such on Wed and then it's her Friday off.

My sister Kristy and my sister Kim are coming out tomorrow along with Kristy's friend Rhiannon whose also the maid of honor for her wedding and we are going to get her invitations done.

This is what I came up with and after some tweaking of the initial design, this is the finished product.

The Reply card and envelope go inside under the band and it all fits nicely in a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" envelope.

Love the shimmery grey paper, it is metallic and so pretty. I colored the Michael's Bridal flowers with my Copic marker to get the shade we wanted and attached the pearls. The Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla cardstock and ribbon is all from SU!

I probably won't be back until maybe Sunday. Lance helped me move in my Expedit unit from Ikea last night, so my craft room is a disaster...although I do need to get the rest finished tonight so that we can get to everything we need for our wedding invite assembly tomorrow, so hopefully I will have a chance to get something made. So many super fun challenges out there and never enough time in the day!

I hope you've had a super week and wish you a wonderful weekend!! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for all the lovely comments!

A Verve Birthday-MOJO81

I used Julee's fab MOJO sketch from Monday for the layout of this card. It is made for Lance's Grandma who's having a birthday next week. I'm not sure when we are going to get into the city to have a visit so I wanted it ready just in case I need to pop it in the mail.

I used 2 different Verve sets for this one, Petals & Stems and Birthday Surprise as well as the oh so yummy Raspberry Tart paper from SU!. I used Stardust stickles on the outline of all 3 butterflies and popped the single on up on dimensionals, added 3 MS pearls and some beautiful American Crafts ribbon to finish it off.

Just a quick post tonight for me as I have a ton of stuff to catch up on. Landon and I took Kirsten to school today and then continued on to Medicine Hat to go to Costco and Wal-Mart...a pit stop at Michael's and then home to get Kirsten from school, so I have stuff to get put away and "hidden" for Easter and then some supper ready!

Just a quick note to wish sweet Danni a very Happy 4th Birthday!! Hope your day was fabulous sweet girl!!

Thanks for visiting!

Howdy!~AMYRS64

I love sketch challenges...as if you couldn't tell, but I do. Amy's are fabulous so I have gone ahead and used her sketch from Friday for the layout of my card.

This is made for a very good friend of Lance's family who is having a birthday tomorrow. Larkin (my FIL) is going to town for dinner with them so I made this today so he could take it with him.

He is most definitely a cowboy being president of the rodeo committee and all, so I thought this would be a fitting image for him. I hope he likes it! Happy Birthday Wayne!

*************************

Only 1 more day of school for Kirsten this week and then she if off until the 20th! Yay, I am excited to not have to get up at 6am...maybe I can train the kiddos to sleep in. One thing is for sure though, after her flower girl dress shopping night with just the girls, she is looking for another "just the girls" night, so my sisters, Kristy & Kim and I are going to take her to see the Hannah Montana movie. I think it'll be fun, we've never gone to a movie before, so I am looking forward to it!

Lance is feeling a bit better but I guess everyone at the office had the exact same thing he did all weeeknd! I really hope the kids and I don't get what he had. I'm still all stuffed up and such, but no aches or pains and I would like to leave it that way!!

As always, thank you so very much for taking the time to visit and comment and I hope you have a wonderful day/night, whatever it may be where you are:-)

Raining Love & Birthday Wishes-FS 43

This is the card I made for my sisters birthday...I really hope she doesn't check my blog this morning..I don't think she will, so I should be ok. Anyway, I used yesterday's sketch from Carole over on the Friday Sketcher blog for my layout and the lovely Parisian Breeze paper by SU. I love this paper, the colors and the texture and the weight is just wonderful! The image and sentiment are by Whiff of Joy.

I added liquid glass to the rain drops and used my stardust glitter pen for some shimmer on the bottom flourishes on her pants. Used my Copics to color some Prima hydrangeas to match and added some CTMH chocolate brads. I did finished the inside as well but forgot to take pictures of it.
Just a short and sweet post today and I just got the kiddos out of the tub and need to get them dressed and then need to get myself ready as well!
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Miss Anya~Friday Sketchers #41

I'm so excited, I finally have my Miss Anya's!! They are so cute!! I still had this paper out from the other day, so I went with that and used Friday Sketchers Challenge #41 for my layout. At Christmas time we had a secret sister swap within our SB 15 group and I was lucky enough to receive a gift certificate to River City Rubber Works. The happy birthday background stamp is from there and I love it. These girls are so sweet!! I have a couple more already colored, but will make them into cards later this week. Kirsten and Landon are invited to a birthday party tomorrow afternoon, they are excited to go and have fun. Poor Landon is only 3 and at this age they don't have any concept of time, so whenever anyone has a birthday, he thinks his is the same day...poor little guy, it'll be a long wait until November!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous Tuesday!!

Thinking of You-ASFOS#40

Since Julia from Little Paper Shop released her adorable digi images, I knew I wanted some!! These girls are just adorable! I have used Kaite Swing for this card, but they are all fabulous, some really cute Easter ones too. So affordable and easy to use. Luckily, I didn't have any issues when coloring with my Copics, I did nothing different than with my Anya & Ian card, but I take it. I made this for Kirsten's teacher as she has been on medical leave for a bit now due to some major back problems. Kirsten really misses her and school just isn't the same without Mrs. Ballance. This is also my entry for this week's A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #40 which is called Shape Shifters. You are to make a card that is something other then a square. I had some of these scallop circle pieces that I had bought from SU a while back and thought they would work perfect. It's so much harder figuring a layout with a circle than it is a square or rectangle!

I drew a line and added some funky grass cause I thought she needed to not look like she was swinging in mid air and didn't really know how to do that. I then just used my SU pastels for the sky and grass around her. The grass I did with my marker looks a bit wonky, maybe I should of just left the line instead...oh well, next time maybe:-)

I did start my organizing project a bit today. I am still in the assembly mode though. Buying everything from Ikea is great, but now I have to put it all together!! I just have one smaller box done so far, I was going to put all my Copics in there, but I think I may have changed my mind. I'll still need it anyway though so it's a good thing it's already assembled. My Expedit unit will probably be the last thing I put together. I will keep you posted and when everything is good to go, I'll post some picts...not the before ones though, it's a disaster in here:-)
Hope the rest of your weekend is fabulous!

Birthday Wishes From Gavin~HH19

How cute is this guy? I realize cute and dragon probably aren't words you would think of together, but he really is sweet with his arm full of presents. I made this for my cousin's son whose b-day is next week..I hope it gets to Utah in time:-)I used Gavin the Gift Givin' Dragon from High Hopes along with SU paper called Jersey Shore from the Spring & Summer 2008 catty. It's perfect paper for boy cards. I colored Gavin in with my Copics and added some glitter to the bows and his scales with my Spica glitter pens. The sentiment is from SU-Circle of Friendship set and the buttons are a sizzix die (they are in the SU catty now though). I ran the Wild Wasabi piece through my CB with the Happy Birthday folder and used my label 2 nesties to cut out Gavin and the mat.

The challenge over at High Hopes this week is to use sponging, so I sponged the sky and ground around Gavin. I'm not a great sponger that's for sure. I masked Gavin and did my best, even tried adding a cloud or 2 (although it's not very noticeable). I definitely need my practice on this one, but I guess that's why it's a challenge!!

That's all for me today, Landon and I are off to pick Kirsten up at school!

Have a wonderful afternoon/evening!
~Kelly

{Pink Paislee~Mojo 75}

***ETA*** I must be in la la land because this is not October Afternoon paper at all!! I do have some out on my counter and must jsut have that on the brain...it's Pink Paislee DSP!***K

Now when you look at this it may play tricks on your eyes. For some reason when I look at it IRL it doesn't bother my eyes but when I look at it on the computer screen it looks blurry. I stamped the main image in SU-Chocolate Chip and then again slightly off center in SU- Certainly Celery and it seems to be playing tricks on my eyes!

I used yesterday's Mojo 75 Sketch for my layout and am really happy with how it turned out. I really love SU's Riding Hood Red and paired that with Chocolate Chip and then Pink Paislee's Skipping Stones and Rain Showers from the Spring Fling Collection pattern papers. I used the Essence of Love stamp set for the main image and butterflies. I didn't put a sentiment on because I ran out of room. I think a 5" x 7" card would of been better than an A2 size, but maybe next time.

It's snowing here today...a nice fluffy snow...the kids are excited to go out and play in it!!

Just a short and sweet post today..I am off to get some laundry done and think about lunch for the kiddos!

Thank you for stopping by!!

~Kelly
