TGIF; Thankful Friday #319

Happy Friday and Happy Thankful Friday! My daughter and I have been organizing the closet in the Command Center and it's been a lot. The good thing is that we're taking our time. Is it a good thing? I don't know. LOL

This week I'm thankful for the amount of crafting supplies and materials that we have. There is definitely no shortage of them in our craft room. Many of these supplies were purchased but a lot were gifted. With that in mind, I'm planning on gifting a lot of these supplies.

That is another thing to be thankful for...crafters love to share their goodies. There's always a Trash/Treasure pile when you go to crops & other events and this is a perfect time to share.

Here is a little before & after of the right side of the closet. I should have took better before photos because it was so messy and unorganized! Things were basically just thrown in there especially at the bottom.

Yes, we pulled everything out!

Most things went back to where they were, but now the papers are in order, one less paper holder on the bottom and items were bagged or placed in containers.

What are you thankful for this week? Let me know in the comments!

Card Making Frenzy Round One

As you may or may not know, we've been giving the Command Center an updo. It looks so good and organized. There is still more to go but there is such a huge difference already and it's pretty exciting.

Well, as we're in clean up and organize mode, I gathered all the miscellaneous items on my desktop and placed them in containers to bundle 'like' products. I gotta tell ya, there is a lot of junk on my desk! I decided to create cards using only what's on my desk.

This is Round One since I got tired after six cards. I filmed three of them on this YouTube video and THIS one that was posted earlier.

Here are more of photos of some of the cards:

I can't really say where I got the items since they've been on my desk for so long, and the focal point images were either created earlier by me or received in a swap. I can tell you that these two lady stamps are from Unity Stamps. I have about five different ladies and I love them all!

Be sure to come back for Round Two! I have plenty of supplies for lots of cards!

Command Center Updo

I mentioned earlier that the Command Center is getting an updo! It is long overdue but I never wanted to start it because it just seemed like it would be too much work. It was...but totally worth it!

I'm sure there are sections that we'll redo and change, but for the first go around, it looks so much better! I purchased three different size shelving from IKEA using the KALLAX system - basically cubicles.

We purged a lot of supplies but I'm happy to report that I donated two huge tote bags of stamps to an Art Reuse store in San Diego and I'm bringing papers and embellishments to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo this weekend to add to the Trash/Treasure tables.

Be sure to check out the quick video showing the updo and take a look at the photos as well.

Details:
Clear bins:  The smaller ones are from The Dollar Tree and the larger ones are from Amazon. Such a huge cost savings finding those small bins at the dollar store!
The cubicles are Kallax shelves from IKEA. Including some shelf inserts. These were great for using those small clear bins so I could four in one cube!
The clear paper trays are from Scrapbook.com  They seemed to be the best deal. I bought a set of eight for a better discount.
Cloth bins are from Walmart.

We reused other bookshelves from what was already in the room. They worked perfect for larger items - like the paper holders. They were just a tad larger than the cubbies. I also refigured the wire shelving. I may end up getting another Kallax shelf for the corner behind me and moving those wire shelves into the closet. That's a project for another day!

We also purchased a new tv stand that swivels & has an outlet strip on the back (with two chargers).

I still have to put up some art work but I am waiting until I'm absolutely sure about placements. Still need to add labels to the bins but that's about it!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #305

Folks, it's Friday! This has been a busy week with the Superbowl, Valentine's Day, Academic Awards Day for my granddaughter and a work potluck. But to add more activity, we are giving the Command Center a facelift.

I can't wait to show off the before and after photos but since we're taking our time, it'll be awhile. Here's a sneak peek of one wall. Such a HUGE difference already! From this:

To this:

Hopefully a place for everything by the time we're done.

This week I'm thankful for the return of our regular shows. Amongst all the busyness, there are lots of tv shows that we watch. So when I want to spend time with the hubby, that's what we do...watch our shows and then talk about them.

What are you thankful for this week? Leave a comment and let me know.

Organizing my Dies

I just filmed this short video showing off a simple and doable project. I don't have many dies but the ones I have are in a box taking up way too much precious space in the Command Center.

I decided to punch some holes, make some dividers and place them in a super cute 6x8 binder.

Check it out!

Nothing fancy but exactly what I need for now.
