Freaky Fast Layout; Lisa Marie

I love a fun challenge and The Scraproom always posts a Freaky Fast challenge on their IG account. I'm sure they post on their blog as well, I just get it from IG. For February, they posted the following:

When I saw the four 4.25" squares, I instantly thought of a grid pattern and that's what I did. For some reason, I also decided to make this a monochromatic layout as well.

Here's the final layout:

I love the back base page because it makes these blue paper varieties pop and that's always a good thing!

What I used:
Black & white cardstock from CutCardStock
Patterned Papers from Pink Paisley
Cricut for the title
Plane stickers, enamel dots and Bag Tag die from Simple Stories
Puffy heart stickers from CTMH

Fun Gift Cards

Oh my goodness! I made the cutest and fun gift card holders. I know what you're thinking...fun gift card holders? What is she talking about?

I was commissioned to make some gift card holders for specific themes (fishing, golfing, BBQ and gamer). I thought ok, I'll just make some basic gift card holders but use papers to showcase the themes. Well, I didn't have any golf or gamer paper or embellishments so I took a peek in Design Space projects.

Whoa! Hold up! I've been missing out on some pretty cool gift card holders so I bookmarked some, purchased one and created another but here they are:

Unfortunately, I didn't film while I was putting these together but I do have a process video of how I customized them to give a Christmas/holiday spirit using items from my Christmas gift tag container, blank tags & red embroidery thread bows!

Watch as I give some tips and advice when making these!

BBQ:  NovaeMakersMart
Fish:  Design Space
Golf Bag: Design Space
Gamer:  Bearly Arts for the image but I added a pull tab insert for the gift card & a backing.

Memphis Layout

I am so excited to start the scrapbook layouts for our Memphis trip in August, 2022 but also a little nervous. This was a great mother/daughter trip and I hope the photos and the layouts do it justice.

I did decide to make this it's own album since I took tons of photos and want to scrapbook them all! I went pretty simple on the cover page which will set the scene for the scrapbook.

The photo we took while in the airplane is perfect for an opening layout!

Be sure to watch the process YouTube video to see how I made my own scrapbooking kit for this album and how I created this layout.

I combined papers & ephemera from travel and music items that I have in my stash and some that were purchased specifically for this trip. I also have some stickers, postcards and other travel items that were purchased while in Memphis.

Do you add postcards to your scrapbook pages?

Party Treat Boxes; HP Themed

Well, you guessed it, you can't have a party without party favors! Since my granddaughter wanted a Harry Potter themed party, grandma honored her wishes.

Check HERE for the cake topper and take a look at these cute treat boxes!

The YouTube video shows how easy they are to design in Cricut Design Space. Use this idea to customize all your treat boxes in whatever theme you want!

Month in Review Layout

I'm halfway through 2022 with this Month in Review layout for both June & July. As I mentioned before, Month in Review layouts are those one off photos that were taken during the month that don't necessarily warrant a full 12x12 layout.

I used the Family Fun 6x6 pad & embellishments from Ellie's Studio. I love the bright colors in this collection and felt it worked well with the variety of photos. I've had this particular set for many years so I'm not sure if it's still available.

The layout is mostly photos since there were a lot and I wanted to include them all but I think it still works with minimal journaling & embellishments.

I did some fancy layering & some paper saving tips are on the YT process video. Take a look!

There's a coordinating page that I'll place in the scrapbook next to this one. I didn't do a process video on this because I knew I couldn't. These are photos of three different hospital stays during June & July for Tony. This layout also includes some hidden journaling which is accessible by pull tab.

Girls Rule Layout; Printable Cuttable Creatables

When you're twinning, it calls for a impromptu photo shoot! The girls came to visit me at work and when they were leaving, my daughter-in-law took photos of them in the grass. So cute!

When I saw the Valentine Hearts Wagon cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables, I knew it would be perfect for these photos! It just goes to show that not all files have to be used for the intended use. For instance, this is titled, Valentine, but these photos were taken in June!

I found the perfect title on Cricut Design Space since girls do in fact, rule. The layout is actually pretty simple but the addition of the layered wagon makes it really stunning. My thought was to look at this layout as two 6x12 pieces. All the embellies on the left and the photos on the right.

The only change I made to the cut file is that I made the extra hearts a little smaller than the original size. Other than that, I cut the file as is including the color scheme.

The Legend Card

Take a look at the YouTube process video to see how these two cards were created in Design Space and completed.

I have two uncles with 80th birthdays coming up and I wanted to make something special for both of them. I basically made the same card but changed the color scheme on them.

I'm so happy how they turned out and I know they will love the handmade card.

All cardstock used is from CutCardStock including the 5x7 card bases. Patterned papers are from my stash. I added black/white marks on the numbers & letters to add a little pizzazz!

If this is something you want to recreate, the Design Space link is HERE.

Time To Strut Layout

Lots and lots of photos on this two page spread. I love using sketches to create the background of layouts and then completing the layouts with photos, embellishments and a title.

I realized as I was going through these photos is that I probably made a lot of them too small and maybe don't need to print ALL the photos submitted during our family's virtual marathon. But I really do like reliving the memories and it's hard to weed out some of them.

This two page spread started by using a sketch book by CTMH. I really like these sketches because they give the cutting dimensions so there's no guesswork. The vertical strips are 2.5 x 12 and 1.25 x 12" and the horizontal strips are 9.75x6 and .5 x 9.75". Easy Peasy!

After adding all the photos and a couple of embellishments, I thought I was done but then my daughter said it needed something else. Hmmm, probably a title.

So I created a simple one using the Cricut. I added a skinny bar across the bottom of the letters so adding them to the layout would be easy - it was!

Merry Christmas in July; Day Four

Day Four and I'm back to using my Cricut! I've seen these dome treat holders for awhile but never tried to make one. Oh, I don't know what I was waiting for, these things are ADORABLE and really easy to put together.

The file I used is from Printable Cuttable Creatables Polar Bear Dome Candy Holder. There are so many others that I will be using later, but I started with this one. I want you to really take notice of the size. I honestly had no idea that he was so big and I just LOVE it! Plenty of room to stuff with candy and other treats. And if  you didn't know it already, you use half of an acrylic ornament for one candy holder.

I love that there are two options to attach the wheel in the back (watch the YT process video to learn more about this) and how easy it is to put together. I used Beary Art glue for my adhesive.

My advice...watch this video or any other process video on how to put these together. It is not hard at all, but following directions probably has something to do with it.

I use two shades of green for the scarf and spritz them both with a glitter spray. It gives it a snowy affect and I love it! I used foam adhesive to add the scarf to give it a little dimension.

Be sure to check it out and then try one on your own. I'm so glad I decided to make this in July because I plan on making one of these for all the kiddos on my Christmas list this year!

Elmo Tote

My granddaughter loves Elmo and her first birthday is going to be all Elmo! I saw this tote on Design Space and I knew I wanted to recreate it. The problem is, I was able to cut all the pieces, but there were no directions.

The tote has four sections to add whatever you want. I'll probably fill with small gifts for her.

Hah! I've done enough paper crafts to figure it out, but you know what...I couldn't. I did put it together but I had to add extra tabs - it was a whole thing! I finally looked up the designer on YT and guess what!?! She has a channel with step by step instructions. Her channel is under her name, Louise Beauregard.

Oh well...next time!

This project took four pieces of burgundy cardstock (tote base & handle) and two pieces of white cardstock. I used a subtle pattern paper for the four sides. I purchased the Elmo cut file from Etsy and a freebie on Vectplace. I need to remember to check their first. Their SVGs are awesome! I was a little disappointed in the purchased file because I had to do a lot of work with the SVG but if you'd like to know where I purchased, leave a comment and I'll let you know.

In the meantime, check out my quick video!

LTCCB; Retirement Card

It's time again for another six week challenge at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog (LTCCB). This challenge blog encourages all sorts of crafters and projects. This month, I am showcasing a card that I made for two of my work besties. They will be officially retired as of June 30th. I am so happy for them, but oh so sad for me. I am surely going to miss both of them at the job site, but look forward to other gatherings with them.

Look how pretty this tropical card turned out! I used many bright colors and lots of sparkle to complete the card.

I purchased the SVG for the card from My Scrap Chick and it was so easy to put together. I created the retirement sentiment in Cricut Design Space and used the Print/Cut function. (The only retirement stamp I own is the one that I stamped in the inside of the card.) This card fits in a regular business size envelope - tall and lean!

I hope they are able to hold a summer drink and let the relaxation begin!

Finishing Easter 2022; Sketch n Scrap

I'm still scrapbooking Easter 2022 although I've moved away from these photos for other layouts, I still need to get them done! I decided to use a Sketch n Scrap sketch for these photos and to extend it to a two pager. Sketch:

I chose this sketch because of all the paper strips. What a great way to use a kit and/or scraps! I'm still using the Hop To It collection from Photo Play with the hopes to use as many of these pieces as possible. Layout:

I'm excited to say that I used most items from this kit. I love when I go through my stash!

The pattern paper strips are cut at 2.5x10.5” and the white banners at 2.75x10.5”.

Be sure to check out the process video here:

You can check out the sketches on the Sketch n Scrap Monthly Challenge Group on FaceBook or on their blog. Even though I am no longer on the Design Team, I still love their sketches and plan on using them often!

All cardstock is from CutCardStock

Let It Shine Layout; Rediscover Your Stash YT Hop

I’m participating in a YouTube hop with Rediscover Your Stash which is a Facebook group. This month is journaling. If I’m being honest, I’m really not sure what that means. So I talk a lot about journaling while creating this one page layout.

I’m also using a sketch from Stick It Down

And here’s the layout. Journaling and all!

I used a paper pack from CTMH and embellishments from Pebbles. The rectangles are all 3.5 high; one is 11”, 7.5, and 3.5 square.

What are some creative ways that you journal?

Birthday Witch Cake Topper

For those of you that love Halloween throughout the year, you'll appreciate this cake topper I made for my daughter's friend. She is one of those people and I love her for it!

I designed this cake topper with one title in mind, but then changed it at the end. Both ways, it's adorable! You can find the file in Cricut Design Space. I added lots of foam adhesive between the layers, a wobbler on the witch and used clear transparency for the two bats that are floating outside the circle. (the transparency is sandwiched between two bats)

I love all the extra details that make this such a fun cake topper! Look at all that dimension!

Note that the purple glitter paper is the type that is embedded into the paper. There will not be any loose glitter on the cake!
